In this video i had the pleasure of taking a tour with ‪@onestopculturaltoursja‬ whose name is Marie. She’s super knowledgeable and very professional. We went to catch the 98 bus heading to port Royal but fell short. After a cab ride we got to port Royal and explored this wonderful city. This city reminded me a lot of an island i had been to in Belize. Walking around port Royal is very easy to do and the area is small enough for you to explore. This place has so much history and most famously known for this being a safe haven for pirates long long ago. Another important event was the earthquake of June 7, 1692 which sunk 33 acres of port Royal.

I grew up in Kingston St Andrew so I grew up eating Tastee patties and I had never had Juici beef patties until I returned to Jamaica 20 years after leaving. I tried with my family and we all agreed that Juici beef patties were better. I bought the Tastee patties at Sugar and Spice. I don’t know if they’re still buying their patties from Tastee like they used to. It was good but not as good as Juici beef patties. I was relieved that Sugar and Spice still had those DELICIOUS danish whirls-my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE pastries! 🤤

Also, if the earthquake didn't happen, would Port Royal remain Jamaicas' main port of entry? @PoJoTheBackPacker man I wish Jamaica had better documentation of its history because I would love to see the actuality of what Port Royal looked like in its entirety b4 it sank. Also, I would love to see pictures of what Jamaica looked like during slavery. Specifically an image of an actual plantation. I have seen actual ruins of the "massa" house and there are great houses but to me they look different as a great house than as the main house of a plantation with acres of land. i just would love to see the full picture with slave houses and fields and all.
