Yeah, a crime the scene where he appears to all the places in the world to announce the demon attack wasn't in Crybaby, would have been so cool in the anime's style. At least we actually get to see him fight Akira.
Long time Devilman fan. This scene comes out of nowhere, right after a dramatic scene with Miki's family. I had to go back a couple times to process it. Its raw as fuck. Didn't realize it was Xenon at first.
Xenon possuía um tamanho comparado aos arranha céus das cidades, loucura imaginar o ser "Amon" carregar o título de mais forte, ao meu ver seria uma luta incompatível pela diferença de tamanho...
@@stephenbyrne2170 He is a hero in the sense that like Gilgamesh and Samson is considered a hero. Basically he is a powerful champion who wins fights. So demons consider him to be one of their heroes.
Something that is easy to overlook due to the rushed nature of this anime is that Xenon is actually introduced a few episodes prior in the form of the 3 humans at the demon hideout. When Xenon goes into human form, he actually splits into 3 people for whatever reason. You can actually see their heads on his body. It’s never actually explained very well though, so I get why a lot of people on first viewing (myself included) thought Xenon came out of nowhere. Xenon is ultimately supposed to be the decoy big bad but even in that sense, he doesn’t have enough of a developed presence to leave a good enough impression beyond his cool design. Hell, I actually forgot about Xenon’s character pretty quickly after my first time viewing the anime. A scene where his 3 human forms come together to form his actual self would have been pretty cool and grotesque. It would also alleviate confusion for the first time viewers with no knowledge of the source material who on their first viewing on episodes 8 and 9, will likely go, “Who the Hell is this guy? Why is the leader of the demons showing up at the last second?”
I think the idea is that Akira’s good heart tempered Amon’s rougher aspects while also pushing his nobler ones. It’s also noted by online articles that Amon means “Hidden One” in Egyptian. This may have been meant to lampshade the fact that he is never actually seen and only talked about.

Despite being low budget I quite liked the animation, xenon was handled very poorly though and he is wayyyy better in the manga I’ll give you that 100%
Xenon didn't even have a final fight scene in the manga. The whole problem with Devilman is that it just kind of ends in just a few pages. I think someone would have to have the balls to rewrite the original ending before we got a good version of it. The whole Satan vs Akira fight was rwo pages long.
@@restlessalciel3285 Go Nagai actually made a full length final battle a few decades ago that came along with one of the anniversary editions of the manga. Honestly love it ending so quickly in the original, one of the major points of Devilman is that the entire concept of superheroism is unrealistic/useless when faced with something like humanity's own paranoia, pride, prejudice and hatred. There's nothing an individual can do to stop human nature. Hence the final battle being so decisive. While I love Crybaby's finale as a different take on the ending, it kind of misses the point by having there be any normal humans left fighting the demons. In the manga, the demons only launch a few quick attacks and humanity completely destroys itself on their own.
Bro was really allowed to grieve for 5 seconds before another demon showed up like, "okay, let's fight!"
