- This week sees a HUGE TRANSFORMATION on our stone home renovation project! After months of blood, sweat and tears on this stone house restoration to give our old house the new roof that she deserves, the wait is finally over and we can lay the beautiful NEW terracotta tiles!
But after realising how wonky the angles are on the ancient granite stone walls, we are still pretty nervous to find out if the tiles will look good in the end! (…and if we can actually manage to lift all 3500lb of them on to the roof by ourselves! 😂)

OMG you guys!! The roof is (virtually) done👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽! It is just beautiful🥰. So much hard work that totally paid off. Btw, olive oil and beeswax melted together makes a very nice balm for hard working hands. Add some essential oils (after it’s off the heat) and it’s even nicer! Congratulations on being just that closer to being able to move into the Tiny House to renovate the Big House.
An amazing job. I realize the actual weight of each tile is the only thing to keep them in place. But my OCD would make me put a screw in each hole in the tiles for that extra hold down. I do understand that the weight is so heavy that virtually no wind could blow them off, but I know I would have to add the screws if I were doing it. With that said, you two did an amazing job and it looks great!
So... These tiles don't HAVE holes because they're DESIGNED to NOT be nailed down...... O. C. D...or not....!!!
They use their weight and an interlocking design to keep them on the roof....
.... free your mind!!!
