I purchase albums and merch from bands (Sharptone Records etc), although, it ends up turning into a spending spree.
I use too, cuz here in brasil records are 5x the price that is on USA and 6x on Europe, and we receive less wage than both, imagine pay half of your month wage in one record.

I deleted my spotify account this year. It's literally killing the music industry and when the bassist of Nightwish, one of the biggest and most "mainstream" bands, said that they never made any money from their latest album that should've been a big wake up call to everyone.
Spotify is a waste of money, not only due to the reasons you stated, but also the audio quality seems very poor. It might just be me, not quite sure.

I banged my head to the first six feet under album I heard for 2 days. Until I realized they were so simplistic. How dare they be simple!
Over 25? I'm 22. Back then when I was 15, Varg was a hero. Nowadays, I see him the same way you do. Not entirely crazy, because he has *a few* good ideas about society and technology, but pretty much 90% lunatic. Even Burzum, I used to like It so much and now I grew out of it (still get nostalgic with the Debut and Filosofem, though).
