Yes! Adventure in dressing begins with what you have in your closet! Because I have made a commitment to NOT purchase any clothing for 6 weeks, I selected items I do not wear often and began partnering them up with some tried and true items. I now have 6 "new" outfits to wear out and about. Thanks again for sharing. Looking forward to next Wednesday.
I have also decided that I would not buy anything in January. And then on February 1, I'm going to reassess. I may decide not to buy anything in February as well. ❤
I am on a no-buy programme, but i’m a bit more ambitious (maybe too much so?) and want to extend it as long as possible. Of course, I will replace items that are worn out, but otherwise I will continue to make outfits from what I’ve got.
I keep my wardrobe colorful year round. I have a pink winter coat, the sweaters I bought in the fall are aqua/turquoise. I love grey so I have light gray jeans and wear pastels with them. I like teal green for three seasonal wear. I also have a yellow tee shirt to wear with a warm yellow sweater which I’ve had for years and bring it out in January.
Great video! I love a pretty colored coat. In addition to being a mood booster, it makes you much more visible to drivers on a grey rainy day in a parking lot, walking your dog, etc
I have gotten in a color rut , snow and ice storms have taken over. With temperatures below zero it’s been hard. However we are getting a warm up and am going to brighten up things. Thanks Kay!
Great ideas to brighten the gray winter days , especially here in frigid Illinois ! 🥶 So many people wear lots of black everything so pops of color , whether a sweater , scarf & hat or long down puffer coat , is refreshing . Good mental pick-me-up ! 🌞💛
Love the bright blue sweater. I am in the midst of updating my sweaters and I have black and gray....making room for colorful sweaters. I live in Chicago and have long winters, so even if we get on clearance this time of year, we have plenty of winter left.
Want to share w/ you - Talbot's has a sale going on now & there are many lovely light colors , Spring-like , in most everything in their latest catalog . Lots of bright sweaters & things to layer til those of us in Illinois see our first robin - Spring can't come soon enough ! 🌻😎💛
I have two wool winter coats: one is pink, just below the knee; the other is cranberry red with a removable black faux fur collar, and a true midi length. The brighter colours are also much safer as motorists will notice them far more easily than black or navy outerwear.
Great ideas! Below freezing here so I'll wear my black corduroy pants, my bright pink turtleneck under my warm fleece. Bright but still warm. Thank you Kaye.
I have committed to a "no buy" portion of this year, so having a look at what I have and creating different ways to wear my wardrobe pieces is going to be fun and challenging for me. I do have sweaters that are more spring-like that I will bring out in March, but I am still loving my winter cashmere sweaters. We don't get a lot of wear of our winter clothes here in Scottsdale, Arizona., so I am taking advantage of the cooler temperatures that we are experiencing at the moment. I purchased a great pair of Converse silver sneakers in December that I pair with jeans and my silver jeans that I purchased from Talbots. Thanks for these helpful tips. Love all the sweaters you purchased.
I love coats!! I have a pink classic Pea coat and one in lavender. I also have a red leather trench coat!! ❤. Coats don’t always have to be black or gray! I have a puffer coat in a dark plum color. I consider these colors neutrals.
Loved this video, thanks Kay! All the outfits you pulled together looked so nice on you, and both brights and pastels work for you! I especially like to see your sweater choices, as you wear them more toward the high hip, which is wear my sweaters look best :)
I’ve really gotten into shopping my closet to perk things up during the winter doldrums. I love to add a colorful scarf to shake things up a bit. I really liked the vest and plaid pants look. And that lavender sweater, oh so pretty!
In the high desert of Oregon, it is w~a~y too early to be tired of winter. We have at least 5 more months if not 6. Reality is important. However, I do have several pastel colored cashmere sweaters and light colored corduroy slacks with light colored boots. While the weather will still be cold in May, I will look more spring-like.
Some interesting and novel colour combos, and now I’m inspired to experiment more. My favourite of your outfits is the one with the plaid trousers, blue and white shirt, and burgundy sweater vest.
I love your tips. I discovered some of these on my own and it was affirming. This morning I pulled out my own madewell ecru jeans with an ice blue cashmere t neck. I don’t wear silver much so I wore my camel suede boots and camel wool coat. I also like you spent time rearranging my closet pulling out things I haven’t worn this winter. This is a great time to buy that colorful coat on sale!
It’s 12 degrees here today and I was thinking no way could I wear one of my shirts and a vest. Then I remembered I have long underwear tops. That could work! Thanks!
Good idea with the off white pants you showed. I am getting tired of the same winter clothes I am wearing. I have a pair of off white pants too, not heavy material; might need to wear with tights in our very cold Chicago winter weather.
I have a winter heavy coat that is red always say I look like a cardinal pair that with my red hat and my black gloves. I have boots for winter which are fashionable I wear black trousers with my red coat in the summer I have a hard time picking and choosing what to wear do you like pastel colors for spring and summer.
Beautiful blue sweater with all the Pantone colors and trendy “less-predictable” stripes. It looks high quality and comfy. The citron and mocha stripe is perfect too.
I wish I could find more all-silk sweaters and other silk-knit tops with long sleeves. A silk knit (jersey) is the perfect weight for all but winter where I live and is so incredibly comfortable and breathable. Lily Silk’s are almost all short-sleeved, but my arms get cold before the rest of me. Cotton/silk blends are a bit easier to find, but they can get too hot for me. Does anyone know any other brands that offer silk knit clothing? Thanks, friends🙂
I have autumn coloring. One of my favorite color combos is burnt orange and burgundy. I purchased a sweater with these colors, but I have been wearing my burgundy cords with a burnt orange sweater, too. I love it!
I love color. But I don’t think that citron color will look great on me. So maybe small stripes like the sweater you’re wearing. Not the camel and citron color. That’s a bit too much for me. I have white or off white, jeans in my closet. But one of my dogs always jumps all over me when I go outside with them. The red clay mud doesn’t come out so good. I have some gray and brown corduroy pants. I need to wear them. They would probably be more comfortable than jeans anyway. I’m more of a gold person. I know I have a bright red cashmere sweater I can wear with my gray corduroy pants. And have some red ballet flats. My warm winter coat is a teal green, I love it because it’s warm. I do have a colorful jacket hen it gets a little warmer here. I have an orange and white Columbia jacket. It kept me warm at one of the my grandsons soccer games. I have a vest in my closet. I have a black turtleneck I could wear with it. To a white blouse. Really any blouse. So you have helped me come up with some new things to,wear.
The Citron is not for me, as a Soft Summer coloring type, I prefer to wear soft, cool-toned and light colors, not brights or warm-toned ones. The Spring 2025 color trend I’m looking forward to is the Pale Pink (a cool-toned, not peachy, pink). I have lots of these favorite colors in my winter wardrobe, especially white and pale blues and greens, and I love wearing white or light-colored bottoms year-round. These are great tips for brightening up a dark winter wardrobe, thanks🙂
Thanks for pointing that out! Sorry for the confusion. I was trying to keep a lot of info straight that day. It does however FEEL like cotton and linen.

It’s fun to bring your personality into your wardrobe all year round!

I agree! It's great to be visible and stylish at the same time. 😊
Yes to bright happy colours in the winter!
It makes such a difference! 😊
I have gotten in a color rut , snow and ice storms have taken over. With temperatures below zero it’s been hard. However we are getting a warm up and am going to brighten up things. Thanks Kay!
I love the sweater you are wearing!
Great tips, Kay! I have a green winter coat that I often wear and I get at least one complement every time I wear it!
That's wonderful to hear! 😊

That lavender sweater with the navy pants and navy coat were real winners.
They looked very lovely on you!
Thanks, I love that outfit too! 😊
I love this video. Love the green and burgundy vest and those pants love those pants with that burgundy!!! Totally my style!!
I’m glad you like it! That’s one of my favorite looks, too!☺️

Yes, we do, too ❄️

Really nice suggestions, thank you!
Will be more mindful of lightening my colors as we proceed thru winter, it should help with winter blahs 🥶.
I agree! It’s a great way to add some cheer to the season. 😊
I bought a cherry red wool coat ❤ thank you Kay!
I have two wool winter coats: one is pink, just below the knee; the other is cranberry red with a removable black faux fur collar, and a true midi length. The brighter colours are also much safer as motorists will notice them far more easily than black or navy outerwear.
Thanks so much, Kay! Loved this video! ❤❤
Thank you for watching!🩷
Continue to love your hair. Looks fresh and modern!!
Thank you so much!😊
I love the blue striped sweater! It fits you perfectly.
Thanks! I'm a huge fan of stripes, too. 😊
Great ideas! Below freezing here so I'll wear my black corduroy pants, my bright pink turtleneck under my warm fleece. Bright but still warm. Thank you Kaye.
That's a great idea! 😊
To add a little fun, I do back of my closet Tuesday- where I pick something I haven't worn in a long and build an outfit around. It
That sounds like a great way to have some fun with your wardrobe! 😊

We used to call it ‘Winter White’! 😊
I love the idea of pulling out lighter color pants for winter!
Wonderful! Enjoy them. 😊
Great inspiration! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I’m an artist and I love color so I really enjoyed this video!
Lovely! 😊 thanks for sharing.

I’m glad you liked it! 😊
Is it on-trend to wear a non-white tee under a sweater? Like maybe a pink tee showing at the neck of a red sweater, or light blue with navy, etc?
I keep hearing that the “on trend thing” is to add your personal style to your wardrobe. Wouldn’t your idea be just the thing! I am going to steal it!
I think that sounds like a great idea. 🤗
I do it all the time!
Great advice regarding color ❤❤❤
I’m glad you liked it! 🤗
Love this! Looking for light colored pants in my closet now!
Thanks so much for watching. 😊

Great!🩷

I wear lands end long sleeve camisoles under everything. I’m always cold.
That’s a great idea! 😊

I have a pair of cream-coloured corduroy pants from Talbot’s. They are a good weight for these colder days, and help to lighten up my outfits.
It's great to refresh your wardrobe for winter! 😊
Oh dear I want to take the scissors to the hem of those nice cream trousers, the blue sweater is beautiful.
Thanks for watching. 😊

Thank you…my father was the fashion police when I was a teenager - thankfully!😅
Ahh, I hear ya! 🙌🏻
Where can I buy the lilac silk blend sweater shown towards the end of the video?
Sorry about that. We had the wrong link in there. Here it is. rstyle.me/+zzQgs3RNbeerqlQPcNU1QQ

The Nick and Zoe sweater is pretty, but $158 ??!!
Indeed. Thanks for watching. 😊
I’m from Canada and the price for me is $238! Lol
I have autumn coloring. One of my favorite color combos is burnt orange and burgundy. I purchased a sweater with these colors, but I have been wearing my burgundy cords with a burnt orange sweater, too. I love it!

Thanks for sharing your color preferences!
The Nic & Zoe sweater is nice BUT it is not cotton and linen. It is a polyester blend. No thanks....too bad cuz it is very pretty.
Thanks for pointing that out! Sorry for the confusion. I was trying to keep a lot of info straight that day. It does however FEEL like cotton and linen.
