What a delightful couple, enjoyed your insight to your caravan, we bought a 2023 D1-1 C class 18'8 tourer this afternoon in fact, really happy with our purchase
Thank you so much what a lovely compliment to wake up too. Congratulations on your purchase, you are going to love travelling in your van. Thanks for watching
Thanks guys that was brilliant... looking at a c class tourer and terrified about spending so much but u have definitely given me more confidence... enjoy your travels
Had our current Cruiser for 3.5 years, we bought it off the floor so no say in options BUT now waiting for our new Highlander to be built, with lots of options and the same floor plan as yours.......can't wait to get it. We also have had minimal issues with our current van, hopefully the new follows suit. Agree about the slightly larger bathroom width, would be a real game changer. I think if you get up over the 21' length the bathroom gets a bit bigger.....but van weight goes up as well......there's always a limit to what you can or want to tow....
Great video 👏🏼👏🏼 We have had our Essential Outlander for four months and love it and also towing with a Ranger 👍🏼 Hit the road full time in late Jan and can’t wait.
@@onlyleavingfootprints will do. 👍🏼 We had the tap leak under the ensuite basin when we used the washing machine the first time but that was because it wasn’t screwed on tight enough when installed and an easy fix. But that dripping noise at 4am wasn’t great so a lucky find really. See you out there somewhere 🍺
Allooo, your pocket thingie near your door. We would be lost without it. Face Masks - doggie poo bags - I peg socks to re wear - pegs - caravan parks maps for the duration of the stay- any Peter work we need to not loose Ours is a 2 pocket. We use it like a junk bench
i have an essential touring van being built soon and also have a webber q, it will fit in as long as you remove the lid prior to storing which is a 20 second process only 2 pins connecting lid
Our Essential Cruiser is on order, hopefully May for delivery. Not signed off yet, just as well in a way as we have been back to our local dealer here in Victoria sorting out the wants and not wants. No shelf above the bed, silly idea that one. No mirror on the shower door, who wants to see themselves sitting on the throne lol. At my age the less I see the better 😅. Oh and that extra padded bit above the pocket you store your microwave plate in, that’s just to make the lower bit not so lonely 😂. We might see if we can get it off and put some hooks on it for keys and the put it back on.
You gave me a giggle about the mirror on the shower do, thank goodness ours doesnt have one, I think it would have accidently been broken lol. I have read other people say they have put hooks where that padded piece goes, others say they use it as a pin board.
Great video, I was looking on the essentials website, and I was disappointed to see that there was no window in the ensuite, a window would be good. I think the window above the bed can be an extra. I was also surprised with your walk thru inside, the rubbish bag hanging on the outside of door. Would a small rubbish bin fit in a cupboard or the inside of the cupboard door?. We are looking at getting a caravan, I do like the essentials, would be great with those extra changes.
Glad it was helpful! You could probably put a bin in one of the cupboards but I would think alot of thought to the size of it would have to be done. We love the van and yep the w9ndow in the ensuite would be a benefit but this is not the first van we have had with no ensuite window and I dont think it is detrimental. Thanks for watching
Good video guys. We have an essentials Cruiser 17.8 and its been good also. We have an issue with the Fridge when the temp is 35deg and over and added an extra fan to try cool the back of the fridge. How does your Fridge go in hot weather
Thank you... our fridge did ok in the extreme heat we have been in, except for the vegetable drawer, that isn't as cold as I want. The freezer did ok except for freezing ice blocks (zooper doopers). Overall it's ok
Great review guys!! I have a question and you're answer might help us decide what layout to order. How do you go with the size of the ensuite, after shower and do you get dressed in there? We are trying to decide between normal size ensuite or a large ensuite.
To be very honest I personally would like a bit more room in the ensuite. It's manageable but tight. Although I do love the amount of storage in the caravan and if I had to loose that to give more space in the ensuite I don't know what I would choose. The shower is plenty big enough but just the space in front of the basin to get dressed is tight with the door closed.
Hello Jon and Tracie, love the van and you're right about that shelf above the bed, do you think people who ever designed the vans don't stop and think, is this shelf really necessary? Jon when you showed the underneath of the van, and the PVC pipes are you going to get them covered so they don't get smashed by rocks? You could always use the slide-out spice rack as a 600ml water bottle storage. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both until next week safe travels.
Good Morning Chris, omg never thought of the water bottles there. We are doing that today Thank you. Jon said to tell you yes we intend on covering the pipes he is just lazy 😴 🙄 That shelf is so stupid, it is to small to even store my books 📚 Thanks again for watching Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
@@paulgray4676 will love to see a pic when you have it set up. You can send to our facebook page. Wondering if your van has different dimensions for your tunnel boot as you said yours was a touring van and ours is the c-class
We bought the van 2nd hand in January 2022. At that time these vans were going new with all the extras ours has for above $90k . We got ours at a good price.
What are all your weights on your car do you have a gvm upgrade? What are the weight of van gtm,atm ball weight etc on the essential?Looks lot of storage and might see you on the road next year when we get our new van.Nova Bravo 166-1r signature z series pack. From Rod Jenny
Hi Rod, no we don't have a GVM upgrade. The van is 2500 unloaded and 3T loaded, can't remember the ball weight (Jon's away so can't ask him). Yep there is so much storage, we love it. Be sure to look out for us. Enjoy your van.
It is allowed you just drive into petrol stations and fill up. Obviously you need to be well aware of the height of the awning over the pumps and if you can make the swing to get out. If in doubt and you have a diesel car you use the truck pumps.
