@@meinkamph5327 Well that was out of pocket. It's so absurdly rude to tell a parent their kid needs to change their hair. Especially when it's just the style Jimmy's kid was rockin. You need some self-awareness, man.
Cleetus has that permanent smile that’s contagious! Makes everyone have a great time! Jimmy cracks me up! The two are an awesome team! I wish I could hang out with them for a day! Keep up the Great Videos! Me, 60 Year old Disabled Airline Pilot that can no longer fly. Watching you guys keeps my spirits up!
Silas starting with gliders will be a better instinct pilot down the road. I started with sailplanes and personally think it should be a mandate for getting your private certificate. It teaches reading the clouds and being aware of thermals, you develope a strong feel for altitude management and every landing is dead stick.
Absolutely agree. Teaches 3d spacial awareness. Learned at 14 in a club sponsored by British Airways that encouraged their pilots to fly sailplanes. So cool to join birds in thermals.
Can't wait for the Cleetus video and hopefully more balloon content from him in the future. I have been ballooning all of my life, I attended balloon fiesta for the first time when I was a month old. My brother and I are student pilots. My brother just bought a balloon similar to this one recently. He hopes to get his private certificate this October. I hope to start my training after he is finished.
Mark R. is a ballooning legend! Enjoy lighter than air! As a LTA and airplane guy its the best of both worlds! Firefly's have a 300 degree limit (not 350 as stated), most others are 250 degree limits.
you know what blows my mind? Blimps, they were MASSIVE! i would love so much to fly in one or at least tour something like a hindenburg clone. they were like floating hotels from what ive seen.
Thank you Jimmy, you keep my dream of flight alive even though I am living in Charlottesville Virginia in my car, got layed off in North Carolina, came here who knows if a good choice, your show keeps me going always wanted to fly and work on planes, any way Hope you and family are well and grizzly also. Keep up I need your shows to keep my dream alive. Thanks Douglas Raymond love.
Jimmy, I have come to the conclusion after watching your videos for ever, that there is absolutely no way to know what you're thinking lol. Love ya bro.
I recently found your channel and have watched many episodes. I have couple of friends who are crazy aviators but you are much more crazier then my friends, but we still love you. May God bless you and keep you and your family safe.
That is awesome when I was a kid we were fueling our 310 at our private strip and a hot air balloon flew by our house and dad decided to chase it we have photos of it flying beside us
Gliders / sailplanes are awesome! Looking forward to seeing those videos. And hang gliders are a fantastic flight option as well, especially for people with limited $$ who live close to areas with good ridge lift. When I was doing hang glider training, there was an airline pilot in the group who said flying airliners was his career, but when he wanted to have fun flying, it was with his hang glider.
You and Cleetus should come to our “Balloon Fest” we have it once a year, pretty decent sized even. It’s this year June 26-29th, Located in Ashland, Ohio, would be pretty sweet to have y’all there.
had one fly low over my house one time, you could hear the people talking and the whoosh of the burner. they were just above the tree tops and moving fast it looked like at least 7 mph, now I know more about them than I ever did before. I was almost in a mid air in a helicopter once I think I prefer fixed wing over all, great video jimmy go silas get them wings!
Helped fly an Ultra magic 450 commercially for a couple of years, great fun ☺️ Was lucky enough to go to Burma to help my pilot with commercial flights there too, unforgettable experience.
You have surpassed my dream list. I thought I had done well with flying/riding in fixed, chopper, and the Goodyear blimp. Missed a balloon and the shuttle.
Loved the history lesson Jimmy but, me thinks it was more for the benefit of the Mrs so that she looks kindly on your purchase 😀. Clear skys and smooth landings brother.
Jimmy, love your channel. I figured I’d mention. With the first hot hair balloon, they believed it was the smoke from the fire they lit, that caused the balloon to lift into the air. It wasn’t until later down the road they realized it was hot air that made the balloon lift!
Wow! Legend! What a great guy! I’d love to sit down and drink a beer 🍺 with him and hear more stories! You guys are having a blast! 💥 Great Video! Keep em going!
Wow... that's pretty Awesome!! Truth be told, I did laugh when you blew into the hot air balloon to fill it up. But then again, I have a feeling we have very similar personalities. 😂
Jimmy, I had to laugh at this episode on your incredible journey in aviation. Silas is definitely your mini-me. In another year or two he'll sport a mustache to complete the look. The Aussie hat is nice look. "That's not a knife, that's a knife." Fly safe brother.
'business expense for content creation' is the phrase you should become comfortable saying with a straight face. Cleetus has taken it to art form. Cheers,ed
I remember back when Branson was doing those big balloon trips. One of the news articles at the time roasted Branson so hard he's probably still smoking "The balloon will have a crew of 3: Lindstrom, Branson and a dog. Lindstrom will pilot the balloon, the dog's job is to bite Branson if he gets anywhere near the controls."
Hot air balloons seem magical to me, their beautiful colors, the hot air jet sounds, and the excitement in the air as a field of hot air balloon begin to take off. I lived in Colorado Springs and witnessed one of those events where many balloons participated. It was great to watch, (I didn't get to fly.) Sounds like learning to fly one isn't as simple as one might think.
Jimmy my brother used to be the aeronautical engineer for the balloon your in. It’s a Balloon Works balloon. You can tell by the basket you’re in its triangular.. My sister is also a balloon pilot.
Very interesting a whirlybird, an airplane with no engine, and something else full of hot air!!! On a weekend like this I was hoping for a Sopwith Camel, F4U Corsair, or MIG 25 Foxbat!!! Thanks to all who are serving, served, and sacrificed !!!
@Jimmys World I Admire your courage to try new experiences and find out which aerial vehicle you like best. I also Admire your great technical insight.
The first modern hot air balloon was flown in 1960 by Raven Industries. It was part of General Mills, and the program was sponsored by the Office of Naval Research. Check out Ed Yost and Don Piccard.
We parked the caravan next to the hangar for the night. Next morning I opened the van's door, cup of tea in hand.......a wicker basket floated past only meters away..." good morning" said they.
I used to crew for some guys in Alaska in the 80's. Also got a enough flight hours but never took my check ride before I left. Also got a lot of jumps out of balloons the highest being 20,000 ft.
Honestly, I hate to say it, but I had the water I was drinking while you made your dad joke shooting out of my nostrils, that hard I had to laugh. I just positively did not expect that joke in this place. 😂
Jimmy, looks like a Barns/Firefly 77 and a 4.9 basket? I have the same balloon, different design, and a 3.9 basket (tighter fit for 3...LOL). Congrats!
I was just talking yesterday about needing a hot air balloon to do some tree trimming. If I anchor it properly, I'll be able to zip the tree down little by little so it stops dropping limbs and destroying property. And then this video shows up in my recommended front page...
Like my house's water heat system (I have water pipes around the baseboards to heat the air of the house), you could make it more efficient by calculating the cooling rate of the balloon and dial the burn to match it, instead of doing 100% momentary burns, and get better MPG if doing a real cross-country trip.
My wife’s uncle flys and builds his own balloons and flys them all the time, as done so since the 80’s told me depending on the altitude dictates your direction.
JImmy...this is one of the best videos youv'e done!!!... I love airplanes and all... but IDK I think I'll pass on the BALOON THING.........flames going up in a cloth ballon.....yeah...hey you do you..:0)....
Get a part of the Elvis Jet at www.SaveThe310.com before they are gone forever
Jimmy, you gotta get with Tucker Gott and get a Paramotor!!!
Tell ur kid to lose the comb-over ! !
Unless he already going bald?

31:31 This shows the war on "Drugs" people was very Lucrative for all sides.
Brother, you are the living embodiment of the old aviation adage: "How do you make a small fortune in aviation? Start with a large one." 😁
😂
If he started with $10,000,000 he should have around $1,000,000 now. Right on track. 😂
Or be a dirty DEA Agent for 30 years or politician
Cleetus has that permanent smile that’s contagious! Makes everyone have a great time! Jimmy cracks me up! The two are an awesome team! I wish I could hang out with them for a day! Keep up the Great Videos! Me, 60
Year old Disabled Airline Pilot that can no longer fly. Watching you guys keeps my spirits up!
Jimmy's kids have got to have the most over the top childhood! Dad is a bigger kid than the kids, and they are all making memories for a lifetime.😂❤
Geez Jimmy, your son is the spitting image of YOU!!
DNA is pretty cool!!
✌️🇺🇸
I feel like Jimmy is going for every certificate possible
It's just an excuse to fly............lol! Ask me how I know!
I want to see him skydive, what could possible go wrong?
That was a video game on Super Nintendo, i played that game many times, you had to earn your wings certificate on each flying thing that there was.
That hot air balloon is soooo cool - congratulations!
Silas starting with gliders will be a better instinct pilot down the road. I started with sailplanes and personally think it should be a mandate for getting your private certificate. Agree 100%
You’ll get hooked on Gliders! Nothing like it! Silas will love it!
Thanks Jimmy! Congratulations on the balloon… I guess! Lol!
Silas is going to have some of the best memories while he’s growing up being able to travel and experience all of this with you.
WOOHOO!!!
🙌👏🙏
Friends in San Diego bought an old REMAX Balloon 10 or 15 years ago and we're using it to jump out of
Jimmy helping lead Aviation UA-cam across the horizon.

I like how Cleetus always shows up when cool stuff happens
They never invite us to come play with them either. Maybe one day...
Sod the balloon.. This video should have been all about that guy!
What a record he has.. Amazing.
Ya know James, you can always take a long walk off of a short pier, not as emotive as a fireball in the summer evening, but classier.
And yall think paragliders are nutz😂😂 please be safe jimmy. Mother nature has her days. Florida man level up engaged!!!
Paragliders aren’t certified…just saying!

Love the direction this channel is going and where it’s been so far!
"That's why politicians are in power..." 🤣
Jimmy, no doubt, you have to sit down with your pilot agent man and interview him for at least an hour or more. Interesting stories indeed!
i feel like this fella might have not turned in all of Barry"s stashes he came across
JK.... gorgeous collection!!!!
Can't go wrong with that hat, constantly wear one very similar!
As a former hot air pilot , you'll love it , best place to get your mile high in , an lots of $$$ giving rides easy easy money

Buys and sells airplanes for one; most likely aiming to make a profit. Plus selling the pieces of the elvis jet as collector items :)
Successful businessman before UA-cam 👍👍
Rocking the hat ! Cheers mate
Your boy looks so much like you, nice, showing him a great childhood.
We need a full interview with this guy
Awesome! your son may just follow your footsteps, into Space!
Seemed like every time you or Cleetus would go to ask or say something, he would hit that flame.😅😅😅

Nice. Was looking at getting into a cloud hopper. Finding somone to teach isn't so easy though.

Ballooning really kool. 🎈
@Jimmys World I Admire your courage to try new experiences and find out which aerial vehicle you like best. I also Admire your great technical insight.
G’day mate from Australia, way down under.
Balloons used during the Civil War were hydrogen filled. Modern, propane powered, nylon fabric versions didn't start appearing until the 1950's.

Jimmy ! Why not try wingsuit flying ? The ultimate rush ! Checkout Jebb Coreless
