Please consider spotlighting various clubs active in TV- we have seen the rowing, woodworkers, cardio drumming, but not many others. Consider: Creative arts, book discussion clubs, RC clubs, pickleball, line dancing etc. it would be nice to interview their leaders or participants.
They have bird feeders that are animal proof. They have a spring mechanism in them that shuts off access to the food if anything heavier than a bird gets on them. They work wonderfully.
I spent April in The Villages and bought a month's pass for the Fenney gym. The problem was not enough space or weights for the amount of people there. When I came home, my trainer asked me what the heck I was doing all month. 😂 I told him I couldn't get near the weights. Maybe the problem was that I was working and I needed to be there early in the morning.🤷♀️
I was hoping that Peter would actually show us how to remove the sprinkler head before cleaning the filter, seems like they’re hard to unscrew…Thanks for another awesome video, anything with Linda cracking up makes me laugh as well 😭👍
not sure if this comment has already been made, but I believe it is important to understand the responsibilities within the Villages district management and the developer. The Districts, funded by the annual maintenance fee and the amenity fees, manages the rec centers and all common areas within completed districts. Each district has elected representatives responsible for the well being of the district. I believe right now, that would be district 1-12. This includes all flowers, tree trimming, etc. The Developer only has direct control of the Districts that are not completed and where they still own the common property. So it is not the developer that will determine the future of the current villages, it is us, the landowners, paying the fees, elected our district commissioners, and the skilled property management of the districts management office that will keep everything beautiful. The developer is only responsible for continuing to build new areas!

We live in a Robson community (Pebblecreek) in Arizona. It is a quite smaller version of the Villages. We have fitness centers that are free to use (HOA fees) 36 pickleball courts, tennis courts, outdoor and indoor pools and softball. We have plenty of fitness classes with a small charge that you reserve online.

Hello- we came to TV last October and really enjoy the activities and beauty that are available to us there. We came from a place that is very much into recycling. It seems just wrong to throw everyting into the trash, but they say it is all burned and turned into energy. Maybe could could look into this and maybe even take us on a virtual tour of the place that deals with all the trash in the Villages. It sounds to good to be true. Thanks for all the info you provide.

re Peter's tip, knowing that swamp water is being used, why would homeowners NOT install a pre-filter ahead of the main solenoid? I'd assume they'd rather spend 10 minutes/yr maintaining the filters rather than 8-12 hours .... unless there's nothing better to do in the Villages.
When my wife or myself ask for your opinion of the taste of something, we both want an honest opinion. If it needs improvement, we need to know. Many times the answer is “Just leave it alone “.

Coming to TV's in just a few weeks for the month of June to look for a house to buy and I am already exhausted with the underqualified/misrepresenting mortgage brokers and ReAlaTors. According to them home prices are going up forever and they have never heard of a Florida state program for down payment assistance for disabled Veterans (even thought it is available to learn about online) and they have no interest in learning about it because they have a certification and have been doing it for 14 years and know everything. Think I might just rent a house for a year or so and wait for the market to adjust to the new rates.
I learned years ago from my mom, we are southerners, mix all ingredients in a bowl before adding it to your potatoes, it prevents you from over mixing and making the potatoes mushy. Potatoes, mayo and a little mustard, salt and pepper, sweet pickles and chopped boiled eggs and you can always add either green onions or regular onion but a very small amount and don't forget the chopped celery. Great show as always.

HI jerry and Linda, I have an additon for the Bubble Wrap on these sprinkler heads. I would recomend getting some extra screen filters, maybe 24. Then when you are cleaning them, you can just take out the dirty one and replace it with a clean one. This would be quicker and keep you from having to get up and down and going to clean them then, going back to put it in. Then soak the dirty ones in vineger or cleaner so they are ready next time.

The developer/family will keep things going as long as it's profitable. At the end of the day, they're running a business. As long as they have undeveloped land, they'll keep everything top notch. It'll be interesting once all their land is built out, i would assume at that point they'll either sell or, more likely, start re-buying home/land in the older areas, knock down the homes and start redevelopment all over again.

Very cool and colorful tops today. Sad the planes end up in salvage but nothing lasts forever. Raccoon poo is the worst lol. TV does seem to offer EVERYTHING, I was looking for a friend's Mom, and really NOTHING like it in SoCal. There's some super expensive condos, a few that have single homes, nothing like the scale of TV amenities anywhere here. According to the WHO, you are not old, you are just post-working. Linda, love the talk on potato salad. One of my neighbors, for some reason, loved my potato salad. Personally, I didn’t think it was anything special, but so much better than those in restaurants. My husband does not like to crunch in uncooked onions so what I started doing was put the cut up onions in the pot with the potatoes when boiling. I also put the unboiled eggs at the same time I boil the potatoes. Saves time. My mother used to put a little vinegar in her salad after they’re cooked so I started doing that. It could be a substitute for the mustard Jerry doesn’t like. I also use mayo, Kraft of course, cut up Vlasic sweet gherkin pickles, salt and pepper. Now I’m hungry. See you when we get there!
Linda, I steam my potatoes so they don’t get mushy and I use sweet pickle relish , a little mustard, sorry Jerry and miracle whip, not mayonnaise, and hard boiled eggs.

BeatleManiacs perform every Friday morning from 10-12 at the Odell recreation center. We play an album of the month broken down to perform 4 or 5 songs each week. I have a good potato salad recipe…it’s loaded baked potato! You make it the same but add mayo and sour cream instead of mustard with the good stuff you’d put on a baked potato (bacon, chives, cheddar cheese, salt and pepper)!
Regarding the potato salad…….besides potatoes I put chopped bread & butter pickles, cut up cucumbers, cut up fried smoked sausage, onions, an apple,bell peppers and eggs in and I use Mayonnaise & vinegar, pepper. I don’t use salt, not needed.
Another fun and funny episode in the Jerry and Linda newcomers saga. I'm glad Peter passes on good tips, but sprinklers seem tricky to do yourself, or I'm lazy. Answering a taste test question about your wife's food is a bit like answering the "does this make me look fat question." It takes some diplomacy. I know you're a good cook Linda, but if you're anything like the rest of us cooks, sometimes we make a fail. Try some relish in your potato salad. It's a great addition. You outdid yourselves with the bloopers, it's as if you planned the funny reel. Solved the scramble. A great addition.

Are your amenity fees high enough to pay for maintenance of all the amenities, common area flowers, etc.? Or is amenity maintenance subsidized by some proceeds of new home sales? If so, amenity fees might have to soar when or if new home sales decrease or cease.

The developer/family will keep things going as long as it's profitable. At the end of the day, they're running a business. As long as they have undeveloped land, they'll keep everything top notch. It'll be interesting once all their land is built out, i would assume at that point they'll either sell or, more likely, start re-buying home/land in the older areas, knock down the homes and start redevelopment all over again.

Great show. Linda can put as much mustard as she wants in my potato salad. Great segment Peter. Good idea that anyone can do, not just in The Villages. We hope to see you guys in August. We are very excited to get back. We are renting a designer home that includes the 4 passenger golf cart with it. I hate the big mirrors as well. I've put on almost 60 pounds since I injured my leg a couple years ago. Feeling kind of ugly right now. The only thing good about that injury is that we found you guys on UA-cam.

Very cool and colorful tops today. Sad the planes end up in salvage but nothing lasts forever. Raccoon poo is the worst lol. TV does seem to offer EVERYTHING, I was looking for a friend's Mom, and really NOTHING like it in SoCal. There's some super expensive condos, a few that have single homes, nothing like the scale of TV amenities anywhere here. According to the WHO, you are not old, you are just post-working. They didn't specify what parts aren't working. Thanks for a great video ❤

Linda, love the talk on potato salad. One of my neighbors, for some reason, loved my potato salad. Personally, I didn’t think it was anything special, but so much better than those in restaurants. My husband does not like to crunch in uncooked onions so what I started doing was put the cut up onions in the pot with the potatoes when boiling. I also put the unboiled eggs at the same time I boil the potatoes. Saves time. My mother used to put a little vinegar in her salad after they’re cooked so I started doing that. It could be a substitute for the mustard Jerry doesn’t like. I also use mayo, Kraft of course, cut up Vlasic sweet gherkin pickles, salt and pepper. Now I’m hungry. See you when we get there!

Linda, I steam my potatoes so they don’t get mushy and I use sweet pickle relish , a little mustard, sorry Jerry and miracle whip, not mayonnaise, and hard boiled eggs.

BeatleManiacs perform every Friday morning from 10-12 at the Odell recreation center. We play an album of the month broken down to perform 4 or 5 songs each week. I have a good potato salad recipe…it’s loaded baked potato! You make it the same but add mayo and sour cream instead of mustard with the good stuff you’d put on a baked potato (bacon, chives, cheddar cheese, salt and pepper)!

Yes, to green olives in the potato salad. I use the canned potatoes to make my potato salad. It is so much easier and they are the right consistency.

Regarding the potato salad…….besides potatoes I put chopped bread & butter pickles, cut up cucumbers, cut up fried smoked sausage, onions, an apple,bell peppers and eggs in and I use Mayonnaise & vinegar, pepper. I don’t use salt, not needed.

Another fun and funny episode in the Jerry and Linda newcomers saga. I'm glad Peter passes on good tips, but sprinklers seem tricky to do yourself, or I'm lazy. Answering a taste test question about your wife's food is a bit like answering the "does this make me look fat question." It takes some diplomacy. I know you're a good cook Linda, but if you're anything like the rest of us cooks, sometimes we make a fail. Try some relish in your potato salad. It's a great addition. You outdid yourselves with the bloopers, it's as if you planned the funny reel. Solved the scramble. A great addition.

I can my own pasta sauce every summer. #25 tomatoes usually makes 6-7 quarts of tomato sauce. 🍅 I use Mrs. Wages seasoning packets.

Are your amenity fees high enough to pay for maintenance of all the amenities, common area flowers, etc.? Or is amenity maintenance subsidized by some proceeds of new home sales? If so, amenity fees might have to soar when or if new home sales decrease or cease.
No. Many of those things are funded other ways, not through amenity fees.
