Luca, don’t worry about crying. I went through the same thing when I was in hospital after my stroke. Crying means that you are alive and thank goodness for that. Each passing day means you are making progress. Each passing day means you are closer to being reunited with your lovely family. Each passing day means hope. I’m sure your doctors are wonderful but don’t forget that love is one of the strongest medicines you can receive and it looks like you have that in abundance! Don’t worry about your lost memories of the event, concentrate on making new ones with Sara and your beautiful daughter.

When cutting his jeans and shirt off in the emergency room one of the trauma nurses remarked on his “remarkable physical condition” and asked me if he worked out! I only bring up that inappropriate remark today is that was my first thought when I read your first post on this tragedy. Now it is 25 years back and we wish you a lifetime ahead with one another. Compounds come out of your body through tears…it is one of your body’s ways to release hormones and chemical wastes that need to be removed from your body, so it’s IMPORTANT to cry when you feel like you need to.
I am a Physical Therapist x 37 plus years, it is very encouraging to see how quickly he is regaining movement, such a blessing and a good sign!! Keep up with your rehab even when it gets tough which it will but will pay off big time. Thinking of you all, stay strong you will see this through!

Pretty sure all 115,000 of us were eager to get this update. It was incredibly thoughtful and kind of you to let us know how things are going. We were comforted to know that you have a fantastic support system in place to help care for Luce while you navigate this rough patch. You never know how you might react in case of an emergency and Sara was on it in an instant. Luca you are a Roman Warrior! You are a Gladiator! You are already moving your hands, you are already getting the feeling back. And can we all just take a moment, and clap the fact that he woke up of course speaking Italian, but also has not forgotten a word of a second language. We take it so natural that Luca speaks English, but its not easy for your brain to try and search for those words at a normal time, let alone after a stroke! 12 years ago one of my best friends died from a brain aneuryism, thinking of him can still make me cry today, and there is nothing shameful in those tears or any others. BEst wishes for a quick recovery Luca, take care of yourselves first.

I too cried through this. 3 yrs ago I went through the same. (Of course not with the same diagnosis because all strokes can be different) . I can see the improvements in his dear hands and they will get stronger each day. At the beginning I had lost my speech completely but now it’s much improved. It’s amazing how the brain works and how the body and brain can heal. I was left with what they call ‘labile emotions’ ……. The crying is awful but for me the ‘laughing’ is worse…… I have grandchildren and they make me feel joyful and then I laugh, side splitting laughter, tears come, I’m exhausted after it. But it’s much better now:). I’m a retired NNICU nurse and so my training enables me to understand the complexity of Luca’s case. Many prayers go out to you from me. Please look after yourself too…… mummy needs to be MEGA CAREFUL AND LOVING TO HERSELF. From the beginning of this it makes you see how important FIRST AID TRAINING can be. Keep strong and focused and yes, love your family as best, best as you can. A big thankyou and a big hug goes out to Luca’s mother. She is the biggest help now and she’s bound to be sooooo worried about her boy❤️.
Luca, I served in the military for 28 years. I am generally considered a “tough guy”, but after all these years I finally learned that crying is ok, even good for you. You cry when you feel the need, release the emotions, it’s very good for you. My wife and I are praying for the three of you as well as your families. Stay strong! 👏🏻

Hi, I’m brand new to your channel. Heard about you from Trent and Allie. I was a speech therapist in a rehabilitation setting for over 30 years. The fact that Luca is recovering quickly is a VERY good thing!!! It’s wonderful that his speech is so much better, that the facial droop is better, and that his swallowing appears to be normal!!! I will certainly keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers!!!

My Gosh, Sara, I was not expecting an update from you let alone seeing Luca for weeks, so I was so happy and overjoyed to see this video today. I couldn't click on it fast enough. Luca you are a Roman Warrior! You are a Gladiator! You are already moving your hands, you are already getting the feeling back. And can we all just take a moment, and clap the fact that he woke up of course speaking Italian, but also has not forgotten a word of a second language. We take it so natural that Luca speaks English, but its not easy for your brain to try and search for those words at a normal time, let alone after a stroke! Please keep getting better, you both had me crying these last two videos out of relief. Keep going Luca, we are all behind you!!!
Yes, I'm amazed also at how well he is speaking English! In just 8 days (yes, very long 8 days for you) you have regained so much! Emotions are close to the surface after strokes & you, Luca, also have a big heart & not afraid to show your feelings. So these emotions are OK. Sara, after the detailed information Luca gave more of today of what happened to him and how quickly you responded, you are truly a hero and saved his life, those seconds you described were so critical and you did an amazing job. I am praying for Luca and you Sara because this is a very critical situation Luca is in. Thank you for being strong for Luca. Your tears, both of your tears made me cry, if I cried, I am sure all the subscribers cried as well. Luca, its ok to cry, it's an emotion just like all of our emotions, so when you feel like crying you have to let it out, it's healthy. 12 years ago one of my best friends died from a brain aneuryism, thinking of him can still make me cry today, and there is nothing shameful in those tears or any others. BEst wishes for a quick recovery Luca, take care of yourselves first.

I cannot find the words to express how happy this video has made me this morning. I am truly grateful for the progress Luca has made. The worry and depression I have felt since the last video was as if you were part of my family and the feelings were real. I felt your joy when Lucca was born as if she was another great grandchild joining my family! You are both so strong and loving and I know you WILL both get through this and go on to have more adventures that those among us throughout the world so enjoy. I too cried through this. 3 yrs ago I went through the same. (Of course not with the same diagnosis because all strokes can be different) . I can see the improvements in his dear hands and they will get stronger each day. At the beginning I had lost my speech completely but now it’s much improved. It’s amazing how the brain works and how the body and brain can heal. I was left with what they call ‘labile emotions’ ……. The crying is awful but for me the ‘laughing’ is worse…… I have grandchildren and they make me feel joyful and then I laugh, side splitting laughter, tears come, I’m exhausted after it. But it’s much better now:). I’m a retired NNICU nurse and so my training enables me to understand the complexity of Luca’s case. Many prayers go out to you from me. Please look after yourself too…… mummy needs to be MEGA CAREFUL AND LOVING TO HERSELF. From the beginning of this it makes you see how important FIRST AID TRAINING can be. Keep strong and focused and yes, love your family as best, best as you can. A big thankyou and a big hug goes out to Luca’s mother. She is the biggest help now and she’s bound to be sooooo worried about her boy❤️.
Luca, I served in the military for 28 years. I am generally considered a “tough guy”, but after all these years I finally learned that crying is ok, even good for you. You cry when you feel the need, release the emotions, it’s very good for you. My wife and I are praying for the three of you as well as your families. Stay strong! 👏🏻

Hi, I’m brand new to your channel. Heard about you from Trent and Allie. I was a speech therapist in a rehabilitation setting for over 30 years. The fact that Luca is recovering quickly is a VERY good thing!!! It’s wonderful that his speech is so much better, that the facial droop is better, and that his swallowing appears to be normal!!! I will certainly keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers!!!
