Greek mythology has a lot of fascinating lore, especially for the Twelve Titans
Bro you are literally everywhere. How do you do it?

@@nomad8690 an empath is only as broken as they allow,
you cannot blame the gift ,for feeling , embrace it
Yes it is
I want to learn more about the primal God Tartarus
Lowes gameing There isn't much found, I think most the stuff we know is from the Minoans and other predecessors of classical greeks. I haven't personally come across any ceremonies or prayers about him (however I am not in anyway a professional historian)
Same
Tartarus and erebus are the two primal deities that are to overshadowed their stories should be told
Isn't Tartarus a place? The "hell" like place the bottomless pit in the realm of Pluto/Hades?
@@jmitterii2 Tartarus is a primal God just like Nyx, Erebus,Auranus Gaea, and Pontos
Seems like Hyperion and his offspring manifested the sky in the same manner as Oceanus manifested the world's waters. Once the age of the Micaeneans came to a stop and the Classical Greeks came along gods such as Zeus, Apollo and Artemis had replaced the old gods of the sky. Again, while Helios and Selene were the sun and the moon, respectively, Apollo and Artemis became those celestial bodies's handlers. Same way as Zeus replaced Hyperion as the key figure of the sky god.
Also, I can't wait to see what you have to say about Mnemnosyne, titaness of memory, mother of the Muses.
You know your history!!!! 😌😌
The myceneans already worshiped Zeus, Apollo and the other gods. The greek heroes (Jason, Heracles, Akhiless) actually lived during the mycenean age. The titanomachy happened ages ago in pre history according to the greeks, their gods already ruled the world for quite some time, it was not during the transition of mycene to classical greece, the myceneans already worshiped Zeus.
@@sonofcronos7831 Nevertheless, the transition from anthropomorphic elemental deities to deities associated with the elements is noticable. And thank you for the fact checking. I also remembered the fact that the classical Greek heroes were native to the 1000 B.C. era.
Aren't you tired of making some of the best videos? Glad I subbed.
Please keep doing more of the Greek and Norse Mythology videos! The occult and biblical stories are too intense. Love your content regardless
No wonder the Romans stole Greek mythology, they had a god for everything!
Linda Ciccoli The Romans did 'steal' Greek mythology, however the gods where already being worshipped before major contact. They didn't call Zeus by a different name, they found a god that was similar to their god Jupiter. The Greek and Roman religion both came from a common source as well as mixing of beliefs prior to the conquest.
Also the Romans had a *lot* more gods, including multiple gods of the same thing, gods from various pantheons, composite gods and gods of specific rooms
The Greeks in turn got all their gods straight from the Iliad and The Odyssey.
@@radioactivebirdj.1845 it can be confusing bc alot of gods have multiple names like Aphrodite also goes by Venus,Melissa or Melisae, and Rose some Egyptian gods are also greek gods its just they can come in any form they want and use any name they want and triple gods are usually just a combination of gods
@@thequestioner7211 are u dumb the Greeks Learnt everything from the ancient Egyptians. Especially their Gods.
@@tomieke4717 what? Can you read bc obviously all i said that some Egyptian and Greek gods are one and the same how do you know anyway? I learned this on my own so go learn to read before you call someone dumb ok? I know GODS so dont play with me
HYPERION: I am the one who watches from afar and bringer of light
ZEUS: You're nothing more than a "hype" of the moment, titan.
Hyperion: Kronos and I will break your back, matriarchal presumptuous omega male, because you destroyed our creation>people.
Zeus: I know all this myself, I am a fallen genie from blue flame and I will pay for all my deeds.
Seems to be many different versions about how light and day came to be in Greek mythology, and how the day and night cycle worked.
Another one is that light and day was born from the primordial deities Nyx (night) and Erebus (darkness), in the form of the deities Aether (brightness, light) and Hemera (day). The day and night cycle was caused by Nyx and Hemera taking turns spreading night and day respectively. They would meet in Nyx's home in Tartarus, with Nyx leaving as Hemera arrived and vice versa.
And speaking of Tartarus, there is a version that say the light and the cosmos emerged from Tartarus, who in this case was the first-existing entity.
The Horned King I think the logic of Tartarus being first being is reflecting the altitude order of Greek cosmology. First Tartarus, then Gaia followed by Pontus and Styx, then Ouranos and Aether. I think there was another mythology with a similar order of primordial beings but I can't remember what.
Yeah man, there was no formal Orthodoxy of the Greeks pagan wisdom stories (or the celts etc. up north), a poet or priest or philosopher was free to rearrange the pantheon any way, as long as he wrote of divine things while truly Inspired.
Cool thing about this is that it lets the Folk Religion of the Greek people "Evolve" to account for scientific observations of the Universe.
In Paganism, there is no conflict between Science and the Sacred. They each describe features of Being, of God, of Infinity.
Nyx and the other first being are. Like the universe then there children like gaia tartarus and uranus reperesent the physical body of eart heaven and the hell
Chaos, Chronus and Ananke were the first I believe.
Day and the Sun are not the same thing to the greeks. The day existed before the Sun if we follow Hesiod. Nyx, Night, birthed Hemera, the Day, but there was not heat or solar light during the primordial days, the sky was just blue. Helios became the sun god and started to rule during the day, bringing heat. During the Day, Nyx resided in Erebus (the underworld), while during the Night, Hemera resided in Erebus. So the light of Day come out of the underworld to follow Helios, after Helios was born.
I think Helios is more Divine Light rather than sunlight. Like, he would be the light from the source of all created matter because he was one of the first primordials. And the he birthed the sun god. That just makes more sense to me. Also, on a side note, it would make even more sense that the Greeks thought that light eminated from our eyes if light was related to divine light rather than the light our eyes precieve from an outside source [windows to the soul type deal].
Thank you legend of history for video 💯
There is a giant tree named Hyperion, its the tallest tree on earth I believe
The tree of light
@@mollyslattery9692 the great Titan Himself in the form of a tree
Hyperion is so cool that even greek myths can't handle him
Agree
Awesome lore video as always mate... Digging the animated effects👍
Wait so Hyperion wasn’t just the avengers Villain character!😨
Wish he was.
Was thinking the same thing
Hyperion is also a hero in the comics and is to partake a role in the squadron supreme
Marvel Hyperion is a Superman clone.
@@lastson5014 nah they have nothing in common. Gladiator is what you're thinking of but that guy also doesn't require sun light to save his behind.
it is said that despite Coeus being the titan of intelligence and wisdom Hyperion was the wisest of all titans.
Where's that from?
@@hecateo88 I read this a long time so I can't really remember but I think it was from Library of History by Diodorus Siculus.
This is only stated in God of War for some reason. Hyperion as no relation to inteliggence, Ceous is the one related to intelligence and knowledge (together with his wife Phoebe, and there was also the Oceanid Metis. Later Apollo and Athena would personifie logic and knowledge).
@@hecateo88 is stated in the God of War games, not in mythology.
I think Rhea would be a good choice if we are keep going with the Titans.
We are glad that you shed light on this topic, I was in the dark, you are a bright lecturer
I loved it. We don't often hear much about the titans besides chronos and Rhea
We also hear of Atlas and Prometheus
We actually have much about Oceanos, Cronus, and all female Titanis, and also the sons of Iapetus like Atlas and Prometheus. The four (Hyperion, Iapetus, Coeus and Crius) are not that important for the ancient greeks, this is why we dont have much about them.
Today in my zoom class the teacher started talking about Greek mythology lol
Zoom class? This timeline sucks.
Great stuff fam!
I wasn’t familiar with Hyperion’s backstory. Excellent video
You just Can't help but wonder how such literary masterpieces dodge your eyes.
Is Keates saying that Hyperion fell from where he was unreachable down into Tartarus, like Lucifer fell? The light deciding to drop into darkness reminds me of the gnostic myths about Sophia who became encased in dark muck (matter?).
“Seems connotative with”
I didn’t know you could do that with the word connote. Very cool.
Man Imagine If They Had a Titan like This in ATTACK ON TITAN
Yes
Bye bye world.
The titans in the anime are actual humans.
It would be worth watching
Love is the most Powerful Force in the Universe - and so it is - Blessings.
The way he pronounces Hyperion's father name sounds like Ernes instead of Uranus but the synopsis is spot on.
Hyperion? You mean that Yu-Gi-Oh card in that structure deck I got from my brother?
What about the Light of Uranus?
I would like to request Phanes - Protogenos. Some mythos state he created Nyx and tamed the chaotic universe while others is that Nyx birthed him. There's one where they're siblings as well. He created psychology and reproduction, representing light and love which is also why he's referred to as Elder Eros as well
Hyperion is the Black hole at the center of the Milky Way. The Galaxy is a mirror image of an eyes, the gift that was given by Hyperion.
Can we please have a game series based on the Titanomachy? You can be a demigod who has to choose which side you should stand with
I think there was also a play either by Holderlin or Shaw. Anyway, it is remarkable that the Romantics knew so much more about the ancient Greeks, as if Renaissance had been reborn ;-)
Do Eos, The Titaness of Dawn next
Please?
I think the Titans might be the preserved portrait of the Indo-Aryan Gods as the earliest Greeks encountered them while their own pantheon was undeveloped piecemeal borrowings...
Sky Father Hyperion? Dawn Goddess Eos? Fire God of Insight Prometheus, Great Sea Serpent Oceanos, Fertile Mother Gaia, all of these are a lazy start of Titans who mirror exactly the basic forms of the pre-historic pantheon revered and spread from Siberia to Sumer to Spain to Iceland (and arguably Africa and the Americas) by the Aryan Horse Tribes of the Bronze Age...
@@Lu11abi eos and Helios are the only few gods that can be find in the indo european pantheon. So they were not pelasgian gods, but proper greek (and indo european) gods.
I met a witch who would call herself aurora when the demonic spirit she had bargained with would take her over & speak through her. I would like to see a video on Aurora
Aurora is the Roman goddess of dawn. The woman you mentioned is paired with a marine spirit since Aurora/Eos would rise from the seas every morning and had a serious lust for mortals. Marine spirits are spirits of witchcraft, lust and other unfortunate things. They also are great shapeshifters so them impersonating a god doesn’t surprise me. I’ve encountered them and they are indeed wicked.
My favourit book when I was 9 was "Greek Mythology".
And one year Swedish televisionen had a _"Julkalender"_ about the constallations in the sky.
Can you please do a video on Coeus from Greek mythology?
Another good video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Nyx is my favorite, but Hyperion is pretty cool
Nyx,Athena and posideon are my favourite aswell.
She is my favorite too, and not just in Greek mythology. She is my favorite deity, period.
Nyx is awesome. Love that she is one of the only beings in Greek myth that Zeus won't even try to challenge or risk pissing off.
@@Actalzy What about the Furies?
Right
I had no idea that the Hyperion corporation from the Borderlands series was named after a Greek god.
Titan not god 😉.
Even though one comes from the other.
@@raydaveed they’re all gods, they’re just named different things due to there being three different generations.

Would you do one in Tartarus?
Hyperion is Skynet
To me, Hyperion was always the true Light Bringer, the original Lucifer.
Thanks for sharing..!!!
Do one about wormwood Revelations rise of the Antichrist Beast 666 and the armies crossing the Euphrates river to do battle against The Great Deceiver as in #the big twist
Since on the topic could you do moros the primordial deity of Doom
That's my father u're talking about.😂
No . It's my old vessal.
@Helios lol hello my clone
So, what about his sister-wife, Theia?
Its so fascinating that Ancients Greeks actually came up with something so...bold.
Took Tyr from Ragnorök straight from the future for the thumbnail image 😂 fr though it does look like Try
Please do about the video of Chaos, Chronos, and Tartarus
What happened to your green and purple potions???? They looked great on the videos and set the tone
That drawing of the children of Hyperion is dope, where is it from?
Egyptian mythology!!! Japanese mythology!!! Aztec mythology!! Also longer videos!! 15-30 minutes.
There are possibilities that two Titans are actually one
Huh? How exactly?
@@rumeysaongul4765 I have to see the video again, but I’m studying old religions and tribes. Based on languages, imagery and myths and also time one being can be split in more based on what he have done or the time and tribe he “met”.
Can you PLEASE make a video about the greek Goddess Nike? I can't find a good explanatory video about her, although she's has along with her siblings a very important role next to Zeus
Fascinating story, for me the titans were not just a myth, and it is likely that they have to do with bones of giants scattered all over the planet and disappeared on purpose.
T-poses for power.
So Aether is the Primordial God of All Light itself? Also Aether sister/Wife (whom I forgot her name) is the Goddess of day? Hyperion is the Titan/primordial God of Heavenly Light. Helios is the Titan/God of The Sun itself. Lastly, Apollon is the Olympian God of the Suns Light? That is a lot of Light/Sun deities. I don’t mind being the god of lights warmth or smthn lmao. Unless that spot is taken. These are kinda a lot and confusing for a lil but really understandable. The Greeks has Many Deities for life and death.
Photo copy machines and halogen lights can be bright. But a flame is the tower light.
Can you do one about Chaos?
Unfortunately it's highly unlikey we shall ever have access to more information about ancient obcure deities in the Greek Pantheon.
There are two things that nothing......not even existence can well....exist without......Ether and Light (the light of existence that is.....energy). Hyperion was Heavenly Light or what I believe to be is pure energy.
His death is the death of a star. You can know nothing of him because to know or to even glimpse him is to cease to exist.
The manifestation of plasma energies
Imma name my son Hyperion
the name hyperion reminds me of hansom jack for some reason
Well.done, very impressice.Very informative..learned a lot more than the usual info on the Titan Hyperion..Would interested in learning more his 3 children..Helios, Selene, Eos..I like to see a piece done on the. Anemoi. The Four Winds: Zephyrus, Boreas, Notus, Eurus and their keeper, Aeolus
All over the place. Certain liberties should be taken if one can, but if one only makes them out of sheer release of ones fantasies then one might consider not doing it. sometimes just read up on it. it's probably explained be4.
Hyperion is the name of the Waste Treatment Plant in Los Angeles.
How low can the mighty fall?!?
please tell us about tartarus god of pit
one on one I think Hyperion could take Zeus one on one .. but that wouldn't happen because the other gods would have jumped in to protect their own interest ... all but maybe Hade's
You mean, the way they jumped in when Zeus had to fight the most powerful child of Gaia alone?
@@omniavanitas7893 that's different ... because they thought they would all loose .. but they would help against Hyperion because he was not as powerful, and together they could defeat him
Plus he had a damn disatvantage due to being one of 4 pillars that held up the sky
Sounds like you the powerful Titan well little bit fascinating about Hyperion
Hekate and Nyk
Kratos? I believe he actually spoken about in the text..could be wrong though.
Mike 13, yes Kratos was the son of Styx and Pallas I believe and was the personification of strength and power and was one of four sibling servants of Zeus; alongside Nike (Victory), Zellus (Zeal/Rivalry) and Bia (Force).
Mike 13 Kratos in myth is extremely boring and doesn't really do much
I wonder if Kratos has any relation to Croatoan?
Amphrtrite
I would like to know about the goddess of the moon, Selene
How about Helios' daughter Circe?
Have you done typhon
Legend also tells of a 13th "sealed" Olympian....
In some myths there is a 13th Titan named Dione. Which is Thanos in Marvel's birth name also.
Trinston was here ..
One could say that if Hyperion never sired Helios, Aurora, and Selene then Cronus would have never had any power to begin with.
What you mean? Helios was important because he was one of the gods responsible for the development of mortal life (the other being Gaia). But he was not needed at all to Cronus.
*Eren Yager has entered the chatroom*
Apollo.....
It's a shame we know more about Helios than his dad. But that's what fanfiction and stuff like that is for.
now i need one on Acheron :P (the one who gave the Titans drink to refresh them during their battle with Zeus)
i believe he's a nice guy
I thought crunos is the strongest titan among the titans. But this titan is like the ruler of the whole olympus.
Atlas is the strongest in a physical sense. Atlas is literaly the titan god of strenght itself (we also have a deity called Cratos who personifies strenght). Atlas is thus the strongest being in greek mythology, he could hold the entire Cosmos by itself (while four of the Titans were needed to hold the sky before). But Cronus is the most powerful if we apply power in a general sense, he hade power over the sky, land and sea according to a lot of stories concerning Zeus birth.
More knowledge
Hail Hyperion!
Hyperion + Heracles = Jon Snow
It seems other countries are both have their believe of gods and goddesses and had a there names, we filipino also believe supreme god we call her bathala, we reffered them like God and goddesses of nature our native peaple pry to nature, like stone moon, sun, starts, we believe in the forces of nature spirit of nature. Refferes to the supreme god bathala.
Yes there are many beings whom rank much much higher than all the Olympians combined. Most of these beings have no reason to rule over singular planets.... They are more masters of the multi multi verses. With some capacities and attributes that are simply inconceivable by man. However what we do know... Is they are powerful. And deserve some reverence and respect. Choose your Gods wisely. For they will come to embody you.
thack about a infetined ego
Kratos has to fight him lol
Here comes Typology.
Okay I just saw an ad that states that this Woman can catch demons. How do to catch something that's all in your head? How do you catch Reality? Since God created Reality, Reality is God; How do you catch Reality?
