I think a step size of 0.3mm was mentioned. Would that be the same for all magnification ratios larger than 1:1? And at all apertures? Or does a table exist to provide help?
Based on our experience, the answer is yes. Andreas typically shoots at f/5.6 or f/8, which is the optimal aperture for most lenses. We’re discussing the technical camera setup using the CASTEL-MICRO and CASTBAL-PRO here. When you go beyond 1:1 magnification and enter the macro realm, the transmission factor that is involved disappears. At this point, you’ll need to use the BALPRO bellows, along with different step sizes depending on the magnification ratio and f-stop.
