Hi Claus - sorry I missed your question. No, quite the opposite. The benefits of a flat field lens are apparent to me in all situations. But most of all eliminating chromatic fringing helps tremendously when focus stacking 3D objects anywhere, anytime.

Wouldn't the importance of a flat field of focus be diminished when focus stacking is used?
