using standard forces configuration: 4 units = Lance 3 Lance = company (12 units) 5 company = battalion (60 units) 3 battalion = regiment (180 units) 2+ regiment = division (360+ units) a division with 3 regiments would have 540 combat units and an almost equal amount of support vehicles/personnel. you can basically field one division. you would want some Aerospace, space transport, various support elements. this would be a good foundation for 1st succession war. 2nd succession war, you would be 50/50 mechs/tanks. by 3rd and 4th succession wars, you would have 25% mech, 35% tanks and 40% infantry.
I figured that there was enough for a few regiments and now a easy combined arms Division. We've added at least another 120 mechs and vehicles to the collection since this video.
@@Helcarexe26 my collection is about half the size of yours, about 200 much and 100 tanks. but I also added in a bunch of non-battletech mini's to use as mechs and vehicles. I also use a single 15mm infantry soldier on a base. it's easier to see the type of troop.
@@Helcarexe26 since I still use the original plastic model kits by twentieth-century imports. using 15mm is not terribly off scale. the models were about 1/160 instead of 1/188. I also use lots of micro armor.

yeah i was into warhammer 40k have about 5 times that amount still on shelf been making battle tech a prority working on a pirate tank for that in cludes clan and inner sphere make a naritve also built a few custom tanks useing ares tand with hugh torret on it
Looks at your collection. Realises mine is a Mech Battalion with paired Battalion of Battle Armour for my generic camo mercs/house/pirates. And a Conventional infantry battalion. A clan cluster of 20 mechs and 30 Elemental squads. A Liao Warrior House Mech Battalion and a Battalion of Fa Shih Battle Armour to ride them into battle. With 12 troop transports and 10 platoons of basic infantry or a Battalion of Conventional infantry. A Word of Blake force consisting of two Level IIIs of Battle Armour (Purifiers and Longinus) a Level II of the Celestial Series of mechs, a level II of Artillery (Marksmen tanks) 4 level IIs of basic Infantry. (So it needs some aerospace, vehicles, tanks and some more mechs.) But looking at my overall numbers its 94 Mechs, 174 squads of Battle Armour/Elementals. 24 platoons of Infantry (with another 150-300 to paint.) 18 Tanks whether transports or Artillery so far. So many basic infantry...and Battle Armour. I think the mechs are my supporting elements for my infantry divisions.

I think that our collection has about doubled since this video was made and then we have the latest Kickstarter coming and adding more to the Command Bunker 😀 When we love a great game like Battletech, we enjoy adding more to our forces 🙌 👍

@@Helcarexe26 , yes I can imagine. Around 30 to 40 mins just for movement. As it progresses around an hour to hour and a half per side for movement, fire and damage. I have played a grand scale game once.
What are you using for infantry? I have been searching but haven't found a good solution except possibly pull the Dark Age figures off the black clickstands and using them.
I've used Games Workshop 6mm Epic Space Marine miniatures for years as infantry. I do have some Ironwind Metals 6mm Battletech infantry on hex bases. I use 30mm plastic Proxie Models Hex Bases to mount the infantry.
@@Helcarexe26 I have thought about using the Ironwind metal figures, they are expensive and there is not too much variety. I may have some coming in the mail....not sure I recently made a large order. Digging out my space marine stuff might work. I was thinking of using Dropship Commander troops too. It is a pity Renegade Legion never came up with any infantry.
@@Helcarexe26 I have been experimenting with using clear hard plastic for hex bases....the terrain shows through and thus it 'matches the terrain'. My painter ( I suck at painting and don't have the time yet to start painting my own stuff again) also adds some material around the mech feet to show the effect of the mech on the ground and to cover up what the super glue does to the plastic.
@@majesticfeet1 DZC infantry could work as the miniatures on the hex bases are just place holders. I just make sure that the base has a number on it to identify who is who.
I just found a website called kidslogic.toys and it has all the unseen Mechs plus the additional pods from the robotech line up in 1/285 scale...it even has the Monster destroid which I have only dreamed about making into a super heavy. They seem super quality and detailed.
@@Helcarexe26 I think I'm gonna order a Rifleman and a Monster...if the size matches up on the Rifleman I'm gonna sell my unseen ral partha minis and buy these as replacements and enjoy the extra money.
@@Helcarexe26 the Rifleman/Defender is pretty much indistinguishable in height. I think "Archer" is good, but I know for a fact the "Marauder" is a bit too big. The "Monster" I am going to need to put together and see some super heavy Mechs on a table top to determine.
