I will do it tomorrow. It is ok if you can treat them locally when they are only a few bunch there . I just wipe them off or squeeze them with my Fingers. I find that if you are checking on your plantz every day you most of the Times are able to discover the ' Insect parties ' early enough .
Thanks for the update. I love all philodendrons. Your grow tent is doing very well and all the plants in there look very happy. Are you going to do a tour of your anthuriums as well? How is your a.regal doing? Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
Hey Mary thanks so much! Yes I want to do an anthurium collection video but I just showed all of them in the terrarium video! There you can see how amazing the regale is doing - ua-cam.com/video/FDOwew3pmng/v-deo.html ❤️❤️
The plant at 18 minutes is a p. Billietiae not a Burle Marx Variegata, I love my Billie, the orange stem and growth pattern is a clear difference from the BMV. I hope for your sake it is variegated tho that would be amazing
Actually it's a burl marx variegata. I got this cutting from a friend so there's no confusion here. I'd love a billietiae tho and especially a variegated one!
beautiful plants! i had to toss out two big beloved monsteras because I just couldn't handle the mental stress of having to deal with them for SO long and to keep finding more... totally understand your decision!
@@plantwithroos ya that one hurt cuz one of them I raised from a little 4 inch baby.. but I saved a cutting of each plant and they are both rooted and growing. And of course... Thrips love them immediately 😑 but much more manageable cuz it's so small.
Just found you and love your videos! You like to touch the leaves just like me.... I try not to especially the new growth because we have germs on our fingers. I’m sure you can kill a plant with too much touching. I have been reading up about it and found this but there are many other scientific explanations why not to touch them 😬♥️. La Trobe University-led research has found that plants are extremely sensitive to touch and that repeated touching can significantly retard growth. ... "Within 30 minutes of being touched, 10 per cent of the plant's genome is altered. "This involves a huge expenditure of energy which is taken away from plant growth. 😳
Thank you! Actually there is also research that says touching them will help the plant, so its all still pretty unclear. I cannot help not touching them so I just do it with my own plants and try to be careful with plants in shops these days.
I just threw away an infested thrips plant. I dealt with them for months on a few of my plants and finally got rid of them. I wasn't about to start again with a new plant I brought home. I understand
They don't require it. I don't use a humidifier in my home, just in my grow tent. Sometimes in summer it gets very low, down to 35 but they're ok. Propagations I have in my grow tent or terrarium to help them come out smoothly. Pink princesses get stuck a lot but 🤷🏻♀️
hi Roos I love so much the philodendron verucosum I really love the color and talking about pest, alll my plants are really sick now.I fell bad about my Anthurium vitarifolium it slowly fell off thier leaves.I tried treating neem oil for the moment.
Hey Roos! I just came across your channel recently. Thanks for the quality content (and the footage of your cute cats). Just bought a verrucosum. A long time I thought it's overrated but the plant is so much more beautiful in real life than on photos. Glad that there was a discount - without it I would have never ordered one because before that I never had seen one in real life. If I would have the space (and the money) I would get a gloriosum ❤️
Respect your decision. The treat or not to treat decision belongs to the plant parent not the plant community at large. Thrips certainly are ugly little critters. Glad the rest of your plants are now safe. 👍
that wont work for thrips, the eggs and larvae of thrips live IN the leaves so they wont be washed away or killed by spraying. they would come out in a week or two and we'd be back to a full infestation soon. Like i said i don't care about that plant that much so i choose to throw it away. you dont have to :)
Such a nice collection. I still love the Ghost. I was lucky to find a Splendid and i really really love it. The Glorious is also on my list but not sure if i really need it, because i have a Gloriosum :D
Your price of orange looks like mine 🧡❤💚 my leaves are allways incoming in a very bright magenta colour. But isn't there a smaller version of it? Because we have the one that get very big leaves.
It has predatory bugs in it, also known as beneficial insects. Which kind depends on your house - environment, the kind of pests and if it's against infestation or prevention 👍🏻
Hey thanks for the quick answer. No the ring of fire had cold damage cos my upstairs is not heated and used to be very badly insulated. This is an old video
Who checked all their plants for thrips after seeing the beginning of the video?
Hahaha sorry 🤭😂
Haha, I most certainly did

because of thrips and spidermites i try to keep my collection smaller and do constant checkups and rinses
I totally get the decision to throw the plant away! Sometimes it is just not worth it.
Thank you very much!!
Loved the honest reaction when you discover the Trips. ;)
Haha thanks, I thought it was fun to keep it in 😅❤️🤭
Oh great the elho pot, I didn't know they make pots of recycled plastic, that's a very good idea.

Yes, those little bastards!!!!! That’s what I just dealt with on one of my plants. I did the soaking method in dish soap and fingers crossed it works.

Haha creepy right!! Especially when you don't realise and then you do and you've been touching them ☠️☠️☠️

Philodendron Florida Ghost ALL THE WAY! And you MUST get a Gloriosum!!! I got one and now I have 3! Ooops!
Nice Philodendron collection, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching! Glad you liked it
Your never shown cutting of burle marx variegata looks a bit like a billitiae variegata because of the petiole! Are you sure it's a burle marx???
The parent plant is definitely a burl marx variegata, it's from a friend. But i would love a billietiae! But you're not the only person who said so 😅
I have never got Trips, but am afraid of them, thank you to let us see.

Awww haha welcome, I'm so glad you like my channel and especially my cats 🤭🥰 I just got a baby gloriosum!!
your collection is so stunning, I love your channel!!
Thank you very much! ♥️
Awesome collection and I love your kitty! What are the small pink princess props growing in? Some kind of clay?
Seramis! It's like leca but different size and shape 🤷🏻♀️ thank you!!
Als je stekken/de plant van ring of fire gaat verkopen kan je me dan op de hoogte houden? Fantastisch mooi
Dan deel ik ze op mijn insta of misschien op Facebook! Zal hier op youtube ook een post maken 👍🏻❤️
Propagations are looking good! 😃
Thank you!

Thank you very much! I appreciate that
Don't throw out the plant. Just the soil. And keep the plant completely underwater for a while (a few hours I guess).

Holy.... that is so many thrips. Like my god, all over. I just had my first ever pest outbreak and it was thrips :(
Yes haha! Oh no I'm sorry! How are your plants doing?
Love your Ring of Fire
