It is a really cool instrument. I don’t use it much these days but I played it every night with my band The Silver Hearts when we were touring and playing constantly . No draw notes! The reeds are like accordion reeds lol.
Yeah it’s an awesome instrument. I rented it out to a theatre company one summer 15 years ago and it came back in a broken box and it looks like it was left outside or something lol. I got it for $100 and they cost a couple grand new. I don’t use it as often as I should, but last year I wrote the musical score for a horror flick my son made with it, so I’m sure glad I still have it
The top is all sharp and flat And the bottom regular notes, so seeing it's a chromatic instrument rather than diatonic I'd say so! Thanks for watching my old stuff there Danielle!😃♥️🌹

The second time I did it came back 6 months late in its present condition. And for that six months I had to hound and hound like crazy as I needed it for the Silver Hearts. I won't name the musician but I know who he is and was very very dissapointed to get it returned all trashed out...but it still is playable thank goodness. That all happened like a decade or so ago I think... good freakin' FACK does time fly...🛫😎😎✈️😎😎🛬
You know, when I bought it it was mint. Barely used, beautiful box. The second time I had to hunt it down for a gig I needed to do, so I called the company and gave them an earful. A week later this shows up at my work. I was so pissed off...I’ve done lots of patching on the box and had to knock some kinks out of it...it was shiny silver when I rented it out and came back dented and tarnished so bad. I’ve yet to find the exact person responsible.
Nice find and very cool that you collect harmonica trio LPs. Did you find a copy of the Stagg McMann Trio? That's a really great one that is focused on both classical and jazz music, rather than only pop tunes of the day.

Hi Adam...thanks for your comment! I've been playing the diatonic ten hole harmonica for 40 years ago last month. Harmonicas like this one, and various other orchestral harmonicas I've been messing with are more for collecting sake now, but I used them all in a big band I played in, so ya... playing for 40 years but messing with this beast since 1995 I guess... very different than a standard harmonica
I’ve never really dug Primus...l got overexposed in the late 80s and never rebounded but I know Les Claypool is a hell of a bassist and you are likely right!
@@dirtypatwalsh I was the same way for a while, a buddy played the Pork Soda album on repeat for about a week and through two brick walls it was just an unbearable booming of bass. Years later I picked up his cover album Primus Charlie factory and it blew my mind, gave him and his various side projects a go and have fallen deep into the work of Les Claypool.
Never heard of that type of harmonica keep up the good work

Harmonicas like this one, and various other orchestral harmonicas I've been messing with are more for collecting sake now, but I used them all in a big band I played in, so ya... playing for 40 years but messing with this beast since 1995 I guess... very different than a standard harmonica

I just looked into these harmonicas, saw one on reverb for 800+ and that was the heapest option I came across. Is that the norm for these?
