No attempt to match the revs on down shifts? This is so common these days. And it's not just for style; it removes those stabs of engine braking. Particularly on the limit on tarmac, the car can be kept more balanced on entry line to corners. And better also to reduce synchromesh wear. Welcome to the 21st century; when racing drivers can't heel-toe downshifts.
Good to see a few minis still out there. Even more so in Australia. Have you made any modifications to the body in terms of strengthening and rigidity apart from the roll cage?
Not so much in the body. Subframes have been stitch welded front and rear. Extra support on the front tie bar mount. Top of front subframes near suspension cones have been welded on seams. Extra gussets on the rear subframe. Have added extra engine support to underside of engine to subframe to stop breaking mounts. Currently running rubber cone suspension but upgrading to coil overs. Cheers DK.
@@lizardywizard were you expecting a JCW World Rally car?? Get out of here man, this is a really cool car being driven the way it should be, and people like it... No one needs that negative rubbish
Wow, this must be the best in-car rally footage of a classic Mini on UA-cam! Dynamite!
Well done guys. Too bad about the understeer near the end, but you guys rocked
Fantastic footage!

Beautiful car, wasted. What a shame.
Why’s it wasted? They were made to be driven!
@@peteglanton9259 sooo slow!

@@lizardywizard you can say it’s slow until you’ve actually been in a rally spec mini and the driver knows what he’s doing
@@mxrco2706 I was rallying through Grizedale in the 80's and had I been that slow I wouldn't have bothered.
