I’m gonna play devils advocate and say that her ring effect and even Lyn herself is fairly tame (compared to what I was expecting) that style shit is what I’m actually shaking over
The style mechanic looks similar to the harmonic/duo skill. In the hands of AI, it won’t work as it won’t be enabled. This does work for AR-O and SD, but the thing is whether the unit with style can kill the far save unit that’s most likely going to be near the unit.
The good news is that the new emblem style doesn't work on melee units. So no Emblem Sigurds and Brave Felixes attacking you multiple times from far away.(Not like they needed it when they have 3-4 movement anyway💀)
It does however in theory work with versions of Gullvieg so multi snipes that leave behind flame tiles. So long as the extra movement thing doesn't shut down extra turn things.
@@giratinalightRight, but it does also state canto movement becomes 0, which would mean attacking multiple opponents separately wouldn't work for gullveig or anyone else as they can't move from that spot when using Style, and Gullveig already relied upon Celica's ring to get around due to the canto limitations already posed. In other words, it's still only good for attacking one enemy at a time, but you can use AoE specials. They just aren't boosted by the ring or anything. Poison probably works too.

I knew they'd find some wild way to make Lyn have her Engage ability and give it out to everyone like candy, but what really scares the hell out of me is the future of this new "Style" system. Outside of Emblem Lyn being inevitably hella broken, this is the most stacked banner I think we've seen in a minute.
Unless she can beat Nidhoggr, I don't think Lyn is going to be a problem. Style users also can't move after attacking. AoE specials are the best they can do for that and aren't boosted by the ring as well. Other than having long range, near invincible farsaves like Nidhoggr are just going to shut Lyn and whoever else down if they exist near the desired target. I lack Nidhoggr myself and she just solos my AR defense team whenever anyone brings her. I have almost every unit except for Felix, Emblem Sigurd, and Nidhoggr as well as the newest winter units. In other words all the previous meta I have is simply shut down by Nidhoggr. 😂 I expect Lyn to be the same, considering green bow. One solution I could see working is counterattack prevention, but few units are useful nowadays that have that. Young L' Arachel can apply it within 5 spaces, but only on her turn start, and if the enemy doesn't have False Start.

For other units that can have styles, I feel like they’re 100% gonna be given to Emblem Eirika, Emblem Chrom/Robin, Emblem Edelgard/Claude/Dimitri, and Emblem Tiki. I can see Emblem Tiki having a style where upon attacking she sets up Fog Terrain and it has something like 10% Attack True Damage built into it (to mimic her breath attacks in Engage). Eirika is more self explanatory as she is the stance change Embla in engage, Eirika gives True DR and Ephraim True Damage. Chrom and Robin are interesting as it can go a multitude of ways, though it’s likely it’d be something like Hex Blade mode or Aether mode unless they do something dumb like “not” Pair Up bonus (like how we have “not” reposition in Shadow Shift). Emblem 3H is probably the one that would have the most difficulty, though sadly I can 100% see them making it so that Edelgard is the Emblem Unit, Dimitri has the Engage Effect for Melee, and Claude the Engage effect for range.
Or... Atk/Spd Phalanx (requires Form 3) If unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, increases Atk/Spd by X ×2, +3 (X = number of allies within 2 spaces), reduces damage taken by X ×3 (max 15), and increases damage dealt by X ×2.
Vertical formatted vids can now be up to 3 minutes and still be shorts now. So maybe UA-cam will automatically make the new videos all shorts now unless they’re longer than 3 minutes.
they missed the opportunity to make her a red bow. thats the biggest thing that has bothered me. we have brave lyn, summer lyn and legend lyn having colourless, blue and green bow respectively but why they didn't hit the mark with this one by including red.... sigh* oh well

It’s interesting to see FEH implement unique character gimmicks from the mainline games. I really hope they keep styles limited to Emblem heroes bcos honestly it feels so hard to save as a F2P nowadays. Feels like you need to now save up and summon an Emblem hero every other month just to keep your favourites updated, and I’d hate if they just started slapping styles on normal units… and that last line in the styles box does not leave me hopeful.
Hey Tacho, feww considerations here: You can't use the style on turn 1, and when you use it it gets a cooldown of 2 turns, so the fence can guarantee only one safe atk at turn 2, the second use would be at turn 5. So normally, a unit can use it 2 times in AR-O, 3 times Mila in in the team, that beeing in the turn 8.
At this rate the game is heading for a full reset in 1-2 years. There’s no way they’ll be able to sustain all these new mechanics they keep adding over the years

You can also change the URL the part with "shorts/" and replace this with "watch?v=" to make it a video again. And there might be other ways They really love to add things that are kinda stupid for some time now I wonder if they will expand on it, adding "siege" into the game. With future heroes. Probably we will get units who can swap between Range 1 and 2 through Styles soon... I don't want to imagine what Powercreeps may follow. Cool Feature though.
I wonder how Lyn's style is going to work with things like Dual Strike and Triangle Attack, because it means we might see a resurgence of Bride Catria again to specifically snipe save tanks. I also wonder how it's going to work with Galeforce or unit's like Edelgard that refresh their action. Well, I have to hope to get Shield Fighter for my A!Hector at some point, but it might honestly not be enough if the enemy is going to be working with brave attacks. I'm also assuming this is not something the AI can use, so arena might be saved from the cancer creep. Not sure about Spd Taker, but Galeforce fliers are gonna enjoy it since they don't have good options for null guard like infantry units do. Also really insane with brave attackers since they get the true damage and null guard.
Ballista Lyn style There needs to be a push to have I.S. make these maps the same size as in the mainline games or rival domains. I just spent orbs before this - smh.
I'm... begrudgingly accepting of this new "Style". On the one hand, it's worse than Emblem Celica's warping in that you can long-distance hit from the safety of a space. On the other hand, it doesn't activate Canto, it's still subject to Save units (and when we get New Years Nidhoggr which we WILL, since next year is Year of the Snake, she'll probably be busted enough to take on Lyn), and units that are capable can still counter-attack, plus you have to choose between actual movement and staying in one spot. I'm more surprised that the B-skill doesn't seem to be crazy busted like previous B-skills. Or maybe I'm just too stupid to understand exactly what's going on with it. Edit: Also forgot to mention Essual did a beautiful job with this art. Looks better than Emblem Celica and Sigurd's art did.

Great reaction and initial breakdown as always 💯 Looking forward to seeing Lyn in action haha Quick note for Speedtaker in actual FE Engage: it’s actually not that good outside of the Fell Xenologue for the same reasons you speculated that Speedtaker might not be good in FEH. In FE17, the build up is actually relatively slow as opposed to other stackable sources of Spd augmentation you can pop off right away on T1 instead of needing 5 PP kills by 1 unit to get a full Speedtaker rev. Speedtaker is good in the Fell Xenologue tho because you lose access to many of the main game Spd stacking options there.
I’m just glad that there is proper counter play to this. At least her ring effect won’t be as oppressive if you know what you’re doing. E! Lyn herself is still nuts though. Still, the only counter to the counter play is undefended/ tree dude. I feel like undefended is best though, since it lets you pick and choose, and tree dude can screw you over killing the wrong units, but the flash status is really nice... either way Embla stocks rising, which I honestly can’t complain about since I have her at +10, and she can’t wait for her refine next year (but I’m guessing they’ll screw her over given how overtuned she was upon release 😔😔).

Why bother ending turns with Seidr when you can just end the existence of problem units like Sigurd or the Celica ring user turn 1. AR-O just keeps winning doesn't it? Anyway. The doom posting is insane. Emblem Lyn gets hard checked by literally every Hardy Bearing Far Savior. She wouldn't have even beat Fjorm in the trailer if she were running her usual build, as she gets 1-shot in the Dual Ice Mirrors counter attack. And the wording on DC and CC implies that both units will be able to counter her at Siege range. Both the older Fjorm and the current R!Hector completely wall and beat her on the counter. She opens up new avenues of attack, but all of those attacks are weaker than what we already have. She needs the [undefended] debuff to be able to reliably pick off units in AR. She's no Fogado in terms of Far Save busting.
Just run rearmed Leila with her to inflict undefended and flash on enemy units. Can’t savior, can’t counter attack. Now Lyn can snipe from a far and survive without worrying about counterattacks
1- There's only 1 Hardy Bearing seal. You can't run it on every SDS team. 2- Fallen Maria + Lyn beats all the armors, and Maria just got Icelock as a buff 3- Treeman + Lyn is basically a free KO on whoever gets hit with assign decoy
Hey Tacho, since FEH keeps putting effort on being insanely powercreep heavy, have you considered doing content on DBZ dokkan too? Also i recently started playing Nikke GOV and is just so much better than i expected on the story/characters + damn good fanservice, developers take into account feedback often and the soon to happen new year events looks super nice, just saying Still loving FEH but it hits wack often
when i saw the pheonixmaster post on reddit my biggest hope was that i was having some kind of stroke, since what the actual frog is this. i'm kinda sick of how many green units i'm getting every since i went wild with marni, yet here's another one that i can't just pass on. even with the aoe caveat this ring is gonna be great for r!lilina, who has really won me over. anywhomst, i think we're at the point where i'd be best to just delete all the pvp parts of the game and call it a day, since they've clearly been trying to kill them

Ring doesn't work Turn 1, THAT'S NOT HOW IT WAS ON ENGAGE. Really sucks because My Rolf Clears gets nothing from her. I don't like speedtaker being locked to any unit, physical infantry and flyers this time. This skill is better than Assassin Strike and would've been fire on cavalry and fliers. Flyers won I guess. I still kinda wished it was the other way around and we actually got potent desperation as an inheritable but this one works better than I thought it would. Also, no DR piercing when using specials. I guess they could do that with Byleth. He had Divine Pulse on Engage and his legendary came with an special like that. We'll wait and see if saved work against style. Engage ignored chain guards so Idk.
This is basically how Emblem Lyn played out in Fire Emblem Engage. She could just snipe anyone from across the map and was one of the best emblems for securing priority kills.
At least Hardy Bearing counters her because of the forced counterattack; she and probably all the other units using her ring will rely very hard on Potent/brave hits against shield fighter armors with the seal. Still VERY disgusting though, if you don't have a shield fighter far save on your team running hardy bearing it's straight up doomed lol (for one turn at least) Also, sad that Speedtaker isn't inheritable to mages. Man.
@@elitechaz8440 Undefended is definitely the counter but that also means having to run 1 of the 3 units who have it (of which one is a mythic). Not too sure if flash would be a counter though. I guess it would work against melee armored units without NCD, but also Fjorm in particular has NCD in her weapon anyways lol. Edit: Forgot about R!Leila doing both undefended AND flash. Yeah... maybe she's the meta LOL

haha It's even betetr than expected lol. I mean the Auto can use the Style LOL unlike the Duo Skills. People thought Style would work in the same way as Duo Skills and would need to turn on manually. Also canto works after taking even with Style.
She still wins if you run her with hardy bearing which you should be anyways. Lyn's style and ring both make the foe get a free counterattack, so Fjorm with that seal can retaliate and easily take Lyn (and probably most other units using the ring) out. If they're running R!Leila or Embla though it's genuinely doomed
Tbh something like this doesn't surprise me too much at this point😅😅. Yeah, "something like this" isn't new. It had happened the same in the past with the rest of Emblem heroes when they released. I still remember when E!Marth first came out with his "game-breaking" (at the time) potent effect, then came the man itself, E!Ike, as the best omnitank in the game, an absolute wall. Later it was time for E! Celica with an insane warp mechanic and she could give it to the engaged hero too (breaking the game again...). Lastly E!Sigurd, the cavalry AOE god making up for the disappointing remix/refine of his legendary counterpart ("breaking the game" once more with Gallop while also bringing more movement + canto to the chosen engaged hero). Now E!Lyn is basically a sniper, so yeah, it doesn't surprise me at all xDDD Now the thing is... Do you all think E! Heroes are something benefitial for the game? Or by the way they are being added only helps to break the game every time a new one comes out? For me at least --> 'Emblem heroes 🤝 Powerceep'
Nah that's just how her eyes are in Engage. All the emblems in Engage have that same eye color, notice how Emblem Celica's eyes aren't red either like regular Celica.
I want to know if this works with triangle attack. Because free brave bolting to any unit. And if they get the effects of terrain so luminera ends turn nearby, bride catria around for triangle attack and then you uber delete whatever unit you want.

I also wonder how it's going to work with Galeforce or unit's like Edelgard that refresh their action. Well, I have to hope to get Shield Fighter for my A!Hector at some point, but it might honestly not be enough if the enemy is going to be working with brave attacks. I'm also assuming this is not something the AI can use, so arena might be saved from the cancer creep.
Not sure about Spd Taker, but Galeforce fliers are gonna enjoy it since they don't have good options for null guard like infantry units do. Also really insane with brave attackers since they get the true damage and null guard.

I'm... begrudgingly accepting of this new "Style". On the one hand, it's worse than Emblem Celica's warping in that you can long-distance hit from the safety of a space. On the other hand, it doesn't activate Canto, it's still subject to Save units (and when we get New Years Nidhoggr which we WILL, since next year is Year of the Snake, she'll probably be busted enough to take on Lyn), and units that are capable can still counter-attack, plus you have to choose between actual movement and staying in one spot. I'm more surprised that the B-skill doesn't seem to be crazy busted like previous B-skills. Or maybe I'm just too stupid to understand exactly what's going on with it.
Edit: Also forgot to mention Essual did a beautiful job with this art. Looks better than Emblem Celica and Sigurd's art did.
@Galahad-k4w Actually, that brings up a good point. I don't think Gullveig's Galeforce abilities can be used with it. Though I could be wrong.

Quick note for Speedtaker in actual FE Engage: it’s actually not that good outside of the Fell Xenologue for the same reasons you speculated that Speedtaker might not be good in FEH. In FE17, the build up is actually relatively slow as opposed to other stackable sources of Spd augmentation you can pop off right away on T1 instead of needing 5 PP kills by 1 unit to get a full Speedtaker rev.
Speedtaker is good in the Fell Xenologue tho because you lose access to many of the main game Spd stacking options there.
Far save is now absolutely essential for ARD, unless you want 3-4 units sniped before your team can move.

I’m just glad that there is proper counter play to this. At least her ring effect won’t be as oppressive if you know what you’re doing. E! Lyn herself is still nuts though. Still, the only counter to the counter play is undefended/ tree dude. I feel like undefended is best though, since it lets you pick and choose, and tree dude can screw you over killing the wrong units, but the flash status is really nice... either way Embla stocks rising, which I honestly can’t complain about since I have her at +10, and she can’t wait for her refine next year (but I’m guessing they’ll screw her over given how overtuned she was upon release 😔😔).

I hate this. I don't like Rail Cannon Lyn who can assassinate a character from across a map. Why bother ending turns with Seidr when you can just end the existence of problem units like Sigurd or the Celica ring user turn 1. AR-O just keeps winning doesn't it?

As if I didn't have enough reasons to hate Engage and it's Emblem mechanic, this... IS DISGUSTING.
The doom posting is insane. Emblem Lyn gets hard checked by literally every Hardy Bearing Far Savior. She wouldn't have even beat Fjorm in the trailer if she were running her usual build, as she gets 1-shot in the Dual Ice Mirrors counter attack. And the wording on DC and CC implies that both units will be able to counter her at Siege range. Both the older Fjorm and the current R!Hector completely wall and beat her on the counter.
She opens up new avenues of attack, but all of those attacks are weaker than what we already have. She needs the [undefended] debuff to be able to reliably pick off units in AR. She's no Fogado in terms of Far Save busting.
Just run rearmed Leila with her to inflict undefended and flash on enemy units. Can’t savior, can’t counter attack. Now Lyn can snipe from a far and survive without worrying about counterattacks
1- There's only 1 Hardy Bearing seal. You can't run it on every SDS team.
2- Fallen Maria + Lyn beats all the armors, and Maria just got Icelock as a buff
3- Treeman + Lyn is basically a free KO on whoever gets hit with assign decoy

I don't like speedtaker being locked to any unit, physical infantry and flyers this time. This skill is better than Assassin Strike and would've been fire on cavalry and fliers. Flyers won I guess. I still kinda wished it was the other way around and we actually got potent desperation as an inheritable but this one works better than I thought it would.
Also, no DR piercing when using specials. I guess they could do that with Byleth. He had Divine Pulse on Engage and his legendary came with an special like that.
We'll wait and see if saved work against style. Engage ignored chain guards so Idk.
Both legendary shezs get a little boost with emblem lyns ring and style

This is basically how Emblem Lyn played out in Fire Emblem Engage. She could just snipe anyone from across the map and was one of the best emblems for securing priority kills.
At least Hardy Bearing counters her because of the forced counterattack; she and probably all the other units using her ring will rely very hard on Potent/brave hits against shield fighter armors with the seal. Still VERY disgusting though, if you don't have a shield fighter far save on your team running hardy bearing it's straight up doomed lol (for one turn at least)
Also, sad that Speedtaker isn't inheritable to mages. Man.

@@elitechaz8440 Undefended is definitely the counter but that also means having to run 1 of the 3 units who have it (of which one is a mythic). Not too sure if flash would be a counter though. I guess it would work against melee armored units without NCD, but also Fjorm in particular has NCD in her weapon anyways lol.

Those times where Takumi and Hector were the absolute shit, and unbeatable. Thank heavens I quit this game like a year ago. The fizz is off the cola for quite a while now.
haha It's even betetr than expected lol. I mean the Auto can use the Style LOL unlike the Duo Skills. People thought Style would work in the same way as Duo Skills and would need to turn on manually. Also canto works after taking even with Style.

She still wins if you run her with hardy bearing which you should be anyways. Lyn's style and ring both make the foe get a free counterattack, so Fjorm with that seal can retaliate and easily take Lyn (and probably most other units using the ring) out. If they're running R!Leila or Embla though it's genuinely doomed

Tbh something like this doesn't surprise me too much at this point😅😅. Yeah, "something like this" isn't new. It had happened the same in the past with the rest of Emblem heroes when they released. I still remember when E!Marth first came out with his "game-breaking" (at the time) potent effect, then came the man itself, E!Ike, as the best omnitank in the game, an absolute wall. Later it was time for E! Celica with an insane warp mechanic and she could give it to the engaged hero too (breaking the game again...). Lastly E!Sigurd, the cavalry AOE god making up for the disappointing remix/refine of his legendary counterpart ("breaking the game" once more with Gallop while also bringing more movement + canto to the chosen engaged hero). Now E!Lyn is basically a sniper, so yeah, it doesn't surprise me at all xDDD
Now the thing is... Do you all think E! Heroes are something benefitial for the game? Or by the way they are being added only helps to break the game every time a new one comes out? For me at least --> 'Emblem heroes 🤝 Powerceep'

Nah that's just how her eyes are in Engage. All the emblems in Engage have that same eye color, notice how Emblem Celica's eyes aren't red either like regular Celica.
