this is the track that comes in a video game or movie with a primarily ambient soundtrack, and it comes right after a particularly emotional scene with the protagonist brooding in and/or maybe walking through an abandoned cluster of brutalist buildings
You know what I would picture for a scene like this? There’s an artist, maybe a dancer, who’s recently had all her dreams shattered. She feels completely purposeless. But slowly as the song builds, she gets up off the floor of her studio to do something, anything, to calm the pulsing dread and sadness she feels (the repetition of the low notes.) the melody trickling in is her first getting up onto her feet, starting to move, getting her senses back. Maybe she doesn’t really know why she’s doing it, maybe she stops partway through, when the pulsing gets louder again, and she feels too lost and heartbroken to stay moving. But she does, stay moving, alone in her studio. And as the scene fades all that’s left is that steady beat. Is it the sound of her dread or the sound of her footfalls?
yeah it sorta reminds me of superhero movie where someone that is close to the superhero gets killed and then the protagonist becomes depressed and doesn't do anything for a long time. then they begin to train themself again and get back into shape even though it's hard, they do it only for the person they lost.
@@LiMCRiMZ yeesss, totally! this song would be perfect to put on that moment of the movie when you realise you got all wrong, like the good person actually was the bad person all along, and a montage in slow motion reveals everything

nah i can see why some ppl would dislike this. the piano is really doing virtually all of the work; the actual "composition" is very basic. the amazing sound this piano produces seems kind of wasted, playing a "piece" that consists of literally: 3 minor chords on the left hand, repeated throughout the entire song, along with one single chord on the right hand, until he ///breaks the creative mold/// with what amounts to basically scales in the key, and even, occasionally, in octaves (wow!!!). the acoustic quality of the piano is rly cool so it's worth watching just for that, but the music doesn't even come close to meeting its potential

How does one get that tone on a piano? Its almost guitar like, but yet still distinctly piano. I adore the softness and delicateness of the notes as they’re played, how is this achieved?
That specific sound is produced by a mute felt which is lowered between the hammers and the strings which creates this nice muffled sound. A feature in some but not all upright pianos, activated by the middle pedal.

Hello, past me. It's me, Friday the 7th of October 2022. You finally met your love. But it didn't last. 2.5 years down the drain. 5 months he cheated on you for, yet he asks for forgiveness. Past me, I'm sorry you didn't know what was to come. The pain. The pure nausea. It was not worth it. I wish I had never loved. He was my first and perhaps my last. I doubt I can love anymore. Please, future me, if you ever return here, I hope you have found how to love again. You deserve to. For love is a beautiful feeling, but the price we pay for it is not light. It comes with the risk of being so hurt, it can kill you. Live your life to the fullest. I hope you've moved on. I hope you got that reconstruction surgery from our cancer 3 years ago. I hope your life is good.

What kind of piano is that? It's like the piano is full on bass and sounds wonderful. Not too bright, not too sharp, the sound is like dull and muffled yet pleasing as well.
It's just a piano. A real one, real strings, real keys, real sound. idk if he used a little felt piece between the hammer and the strings to make that effect or he's just using the pedal
Ok look down at the edits for some better info too It seems like he is using the celeste/mute pedal that puts a piece of felt between the strings and hammers, also he put the microphones behind the piano which also makes is sound different and also gives it a warm, muted tone, also the fact that all the lids are off the piano and just playing softly and sorta "carefully" Edit:forgot to mention it sounds out of tune if you listen to some of the notes which also makes some of the warmness and mutedness Edit again:I got my Korg Sp170s 2 days ago and it doesnt seen like hes using any fancy tricks really except the mute pedal, I noticed when i play at a certain volume on those notes I get the same tone but not as muted as his,but only when I play carefully and delicately on the keys, I dont think theres any shenanigans except that you can see that he is using the celeste pedal, mics behind piano, lids off and just playing softly and delicately.
Your music is the kind of background noise that would go really well with reading or just, well, thinking, but I’ve been trying to lie here with my thoughts in the dark and my mind keeps drifting back to your music..? It’s not a bad thing, it’s just such a powerful, beautiful thing and so hard to ignore. Thank you:)
I love how you took a relatively simple musical idea and developed it over time. Keeping that rythm and giving the piece time to breathe made this an incredibly relaxing and reflecting song
You stand in your room, late at night, staring down at your phone. One post after the other, your mind getting infatuated with the content. A question pops up, "but what does it all mean?" A moment of silence sweeps in. You're reminded that all you've been pouring into your brain, was bitter milk.

ibi, you have no idea how many times you saved the moment, happy sad angry etc, your music is just so soothing to the ears the expression of emotion and feeling, the simplicity of the notes, its absolutely beautifull, really nice music that you make
I absolutely LOVE pieces like this that take their time to build. I would even go so far as to say it builds all the way until right before the very end, and it just finishes off close (but also far?) from where we started if that makes sense? Fantastic playing. Very dramatic and dynamic. Thanks for this!
I dunno if you'll see this but I just want you to know that your songs are one of the things that make me the happiest (even though this one was kinda sad 😅)

You open your eyes. All you see is a dark lab room with flashing red lights, and a window that gazes into the depths of space and the stars beyond. You look down, and realize that you are not the person you have been led to believe. Where are you? Symbols of an alien language flash red in a language that seems strangely familiar, that you can somehow comprehend. The words say "Emergency. Power lost." You hear explosions growing louder and louder, and as memories come back of the life that once was, your vision fades away and you are embraced by nothingness. The simulation has failed. You open your eyes once more...
You give me so much inspiration to make music. Each piece you make sounds so unique and never fails to bring a tear to my eye. Always keep up the good work
You can try and hide but it will always find you. As you open a new door memories that don’t belong to you start to seem as if they do. They remind you of your past. Of your trauma. They remind you how you’ll never recover. Never get over the bullshit. But then you find a happy memory. One that opens a new hidden room in the building. And it seems you’ll be okay. If you stay in that room forever it is. So you decide to do that. You spend years in that room. But soon you will have to come out. You have to face the trauma that wasn’t your fault and was all at the same time. You prepare yourself with all the ropes and knives you can find. As you walk out you realize that you can’t. You can’t face it. So then what will you do? You’ll run away from that building. You’ll move to a different city and soon you’ll be okay. Every once in a while you remember that. What happened for all those years. But you’ll be okay it’ll be okay. You say to yourself. And then before you know it. Before you could actually face your trauma or go back to your building you decay. And no ones there to see atleast hopefully you thought. It’s time to decay.
So that got in the recomendation on my home page while I was watching youtube videos with ny sister and her boybriend on the TV collectively. I would have put this on the TV but my style of music youtube videos is not their type we were more in the lyrical music than instrumental only in the kusic we were listening. So I saddly didn't got to play this on the TV before they left. So I actually got to the piano and do random improvisation and this turned out to bebthe coolest improvisation I did on the piano in my opinion. But saddly it will never be played like that ever again because imrpov is improv. And in my mind I had your thumbnail in mind as an inspiration. I love the style of your thumbnail as much as I like how you play the piano! So that was a short story I felt like sharing for some reasons idk....
This is beautiful. Thanks for recording this. I have the same piano (or very similar as you). I love the tone that you are getting. Is the felt something you did yourself? I think I can see you made little cuts this time. I've been trying to do the same with my piano but somehow it ends up too muted...
I love this song so much and I just recently continued learning it on the piano and I have never really played piano but this song is actually fairly easy to learn and it is also fantastic sounding! I'm so glad.
I generally liked it, but it was a bit dull by how much it simply repeated the same exact thing so many times for so long. It reminded me of a modern pop song, too much repetition spoiling, pun intended, great potential. The chords were well done, it sounded really nice, it just needed more variety in my opinion. So much could have been built from this, but you played it so safe, I encourage you to go back to it and revise it at some point in your future. As it is right now, It could make great background music for the opening of a thriller/mystery movie. The one time it really breaks away from the short established loop was to only do a basic scale. Not to sound too harsh, like I said at the beginning I generally liked it, but the most interesting parts of this piece are the first minute and the name. I don't mean any of this in a malicious way by the way. I'm just giving my honest criticism amidst the sea of praise that is this comment section.
It's minimalism and minimalism can be quite difficult to get into. It often is considered boring and non-creative. I like the music very much but I can totally understand people who are just annoyed by the same melody over amd over again with small variations. And please, for the love of whoever, could everyone stop implying that people who dislike music that you like just didn't listen to it or don't understand it? I don't like most of Mozarts work, although I've listened to it and I am musically educated enough to "understand" it" as far as you can understand music. He was a genius, he wrote complicated shit but I just don't like the music. Why am I not allowed to dislike it?
what I sang = the lyrics I made up: ooh~... mm~... slowly~... ooh~... slowly~... ..... tiptoe, softly onto the cold tiles, the cold tiles~ open, the white door, inside a carton, a carton take a glass, pour it in, I wonder how it tastes today, I do. sip it~ slowly~..... bitter~... what did I expect, not much really... not spoiled, not clumpy not soggy... just, bitter~... ..... [interlude] can't put it back, got to down it all... down the hatch it goes... finished, a rim of white remains... placed into the sink, I'll deal with it later... pick up my bags, head out the door... the sky's as gloomy as ever, my feet trot to the weather... breathe in, cold air oh~ how I know this feeling well... it was the same. the same as yesterday. hopefully, it~ tastes~... different tomorrow... this sounds like something that would be either in a scary movie or at the end of one but i really like this
I feel like this would be a great soundtrack for a movie about a conspiracy that slowly gets uncovered. This would be the ending in a slow motion montage showing all the conspirators getting arrested, killed, or both.
everything about this is perfect. from the tone of the piano to the melody to just everything my god I'm in love with this
When it’s time to live an adult life but it’s hard to leave childhood
This is one of my favourite pieces of yours, as well as your most recent, three marbles.
It's calming, and not high pitched.
A sombre and deep wooden tone to it, and I love it.
@@Ravioliyt fuck, that reminds me of my relationship, honestly hope for the best mate. life is rough, and ill keep your story in mind, to keep enduring, because i know that if you can keep going, i can too.keep going ravioli, i believe in you.
Ok look down at the edits for some better info too
It seems like he is using the celeste/mute pedal that puts a piece of felt between the strings and hammers, also he put the microphones behind the piano which also makes is sound different and also gives it a warm, muted tone, also the fact that all the lids are off the piano and just playing softly and sorta "carefully"
Edit:forgot to mention it sounds out of tune if you listen to some of the notes which also makes some of the warmness and mutedness
Edit again:I got my Korg Sp170s 2 days ago and it doesnt seen like hes using any fancy tricks really except the mute pedal, I noticed when i play at a certain volume on those notes I get the same tone but not as muted as his,but only when I play carefully and delicately on the keys, I dont think theres any shenanigans except that you can see that he is using the celeste pedal, mics behind piano, lids off and just playing softly and delicately.
Glad I caught this so early in the day. Lovely as always!
idk why this is getting recommended to me but i love it..
Thank you:)
Love your music man. The titles of your songs match so perfectly with every pierce you write
i love listening to you. what a beautiful piece.
Bitter milk? nah
*C H E E S E*
I love how you took a relatively simple musical idea and developed it over time. Keeping that rythm and giving the piece time to breathe made this an incredibly relaxing and reflecting song
I’m in love with this, it sounds like guitar but piano at the same time. I’m addicted to listening to this
i can feel this music...
You stand in your room, late at night, staring down at your phone. One post after the other, your mind getting infatuated with the content. A question pops up, "but what does it all mean?"
A moment of silence sweeps in.
You're reminded that all you've been pouring into your brain, was bitter milk.
I absolutely adore this. Been having it on loop. Thank you so much for creating such a emotionally eliciting piece. Its heavy and calming at the same time and truly magical.❤
This song is absolutely beautiful and so well played. It's so peacefull and relaxing yet seems fast and mysterious at the same time
i cant put this in words but i know someone feels the same...
I'm really sad that I'm just now finding this, youtube why didn't you recommend me this beauty sooner T3T I love this so much
been analyzing this and slowly learning to play it myself. My favorite work from you. thank you
ibi, you have no idea how many times you saved the moment, happy sad angry etc, your music is just so soothing to the ears the expression of emotion and feeling, the simplicity of the notes, its absolutely beautifull, really nice music that you make
I just discovered this channel and I gotta say, Wow!!! Amazing
The best 6:40 minutes of my day.
this was recommended on my page. I hope it gets recommended to more people! Great stuff. really good atmosphere
I absolutely LOVE pieces like this that take their time to build. I would even go so far as to say it builds all the way until right before the very end, and it just finishes off close (but also far?) from where we started if that makes sense? Fantastic playing. Very dramatic and dynamic. Thanks for this!
I dunno if you'll see this but I just want you to know that your songs are one of the things that make me the happiest (even though this one was kinda sad 😅)
hey. i mean those songs are amazing and whenever i am listening to things like that i can't think about something positive. the boy who is playing those songs,i hope you are fine. wish you best luck dude.
I didn't expect to stay to watch the whole piece, but I did; I really like it! The mellow lo-fi feel and the simplicity works really well
I really love the rubato you use. Very softly halting and rushing. Awesome
I have chills~!!! Your talent blows my mind, ibi, I'm so glad to have discovered you
this was in my recommended and i’m just like uhhh what is this, so i clicked on it. no regrets.
The richness of the tone is so pure yet so powerful.
Amazing.
This is just beautiful
this piece just took me so many places holy shit
You open your eyes. All you see is a dark lab room with flashing red lights, and a window that gazes into the depths of space and the stars beyond. You look down, and realize that you are not the person you have been led to believe. Where are you? Symbols of an alien language flash red in a language that seems strangely familiar, that you can somehow comprehend. The words say "Emergency. Power lost."
You hear explosions growing louder and louder, and as memories come back of the life that once was, your vision fades away and you are embraced by nothingness. The simulation has failed.
You open your eyes once more...
You give me so much inspiration to make music. Each piece you make sounds so unique and never fails to bring a tear to my eye. Always keep up the good work
綺麗な曲ですね。最高です
It’s time to decay.
after this video my milk turned sour, please do more magic tricks!
Just woke up and listened to this. Such a great way to start the day! Totally loved it.
so soothing. thank you so much for sharing the music sheet
I love doing improv, it can be very beautiful sometimes. Well at least it would be nice if I can actually play the instrument first--
The 6 minutes was over in what felt like 2. Beautiful and moving.
Such a mood! Thank you for this piece
I've never been brought to tears through music before. I love this.
*Ты лучший и заслуживаешь большего!!1* да и пусть ты меня не понимаешь, ты лучший
Согласен
Why it's sounds like classic guitar XD
umberto he because its an older piano i think made in 1960? I forgot
you sir are awesome!!
Beautifull...thank everybody that has to be with me being here ❤❤❤❤
the comments section is mostly aesthetically pleasing people with tumblr accounts
This melody is so simple, yet so breathtaking. Thank you for good mood.
I’m so confused, who’s that one person that disliked the video, what was the purpose, u already know they didn’t even listen to the whole song😂
it's probably someone who uses youtube music, trying to curate their playlist. This is beautiful, but I could see how it could be too slow for some
It's minimalism and minimalism can be quite difficult to get into.
Most likely though, someone mistapped when turning their phone (i do it all the time and get horrified when i see i disliked a video i love lol)
Quite captivating, thank you for sharing your talent.
never seen this channel, but chills within the first minute. terrifying and amazing
bruh I literally made lyrics in my head for this songg aaaaaaaaah - this music is supposed to be non-lyrical though so like whatever
what I sang = the lyrics I made up:
ooh~...
mm~...
slowly~...
ooh~...
slowly~...
.....
tiptoe, softly onto the cold tiles, the cold tiles~
open, the white door, inside a carton, a carton
take a glass, pour it in, I wonder how it tastes today, I do.
sip it~
slowly~.....
bitter~...
what did I expect, not much really...
not spoiled, not clumpy not soggy...
just, bitter~...
.....
[interlude]
can't put it back, got to down it all...
down the hatch it goes...
finished, a rim of white remains...
placed into the sink, I'll deal with it later...
pick up my bags, head out the door...
the sky's as gloomy as ever, my feet trot to the weather...
breathe in, cold air oh~ how I know this feeling well...
it was the same. the same as yesterday.
hopefully, it~
tastes~...
different tomorrow...
I do~
bitter~.....
bitter~.....
Wow that actually works
Indeed
Would need to hear it for it to make sense to me :/
Sorry mate, I’m kinda lactose intolerant.
So just gonna put this here, the mere sound of this piano adds so much to the piece, i'm really jealous of this timbre here! Amazing piece!
so many comments about explaining feelings and thoughts during this amazing music...
