  • Soke Inoue Yoshimi (井上) teaching karate blocks (such as yoko uke, gedan barai, jodan uke, shuto uke) during his Karate Summer Camp 2013, held in Tottori, Japan. His disciples, Antonio Diaz (Venezuela) and Rika Usami (宇佐美里香, Japan), both WKF World kata champions, assist him during the lessons.

      Sadly he died from cancer on May 1st the last year. Not only he knew how to teach with such effectiveness to adults, he was very sweet to children, kind and humble. I always think of him as the friendly, happy teacher everyone should have. He knew his days were numbered, but kept smiling. A man that holds such pain inside and keeps on people feeling good is so remarkable,

    This mans karate is beautiful. If karate was taught like this more people would respect the art. All this needs is a more sport based sparring method and it’s a complete self defence AND sport art

    Thanks Alessandro Timmi for making the teachings of Inoue Sensei available to the rest of the world. I've enjoyed looking at quite a few that you have posted and appreciate your efforts mate. Inoue Sensei's ability to speak English makes it just so much easier for me to follow the subtle points that he's trying to make. And lastly, I encourage all karateka to work together and follow the principles of the dojo kun. Karate is such a small sport or art in the broad scheme of things. Hopefully with healthy interaction and good manners, karate will survive and prosper. Ossu!

    Nice blocking. I love it. It is something you never see in formal Kumite Championship. Blocking technique is unnecessary, but SPEED. In Kumite Championship we only see attack, attack and attack in high speed movement. It is true and I don't know why

    Yeah, Yahara sure seems "efficient." The dude is stomping around like an elephant, his blocks are slow and weak, and his gi doesn't even pop. My brother trained with Soke Inoue; he is FAST. Last time I checked, he was in charge of the WKF kata board, but I may be mistaken. The dude knows what he's doing. Just because your teacher/style/league has different views does not mean that our SOKE does not have a less than adequate understanding of bio-mechanics, or has an inferior grasp of physics. This man's form and application are on point, and that is undeniable.

    There are no blocks in Karate, those names were given by the Japanese because the Okinawan never gave them the Bunkai for the moves. Okinawans had no names for any technique. All names used today are from the Japanese.

    • @spirgtudsrubec7776
      @spirgtudsrubec7776 6 років тому +4

      discipline is a negative notion, totally outdated. we are not learning martial arts to become robotic and controlled. we practice martial arts to learn more about ourselves, to become better versions of ourselves, to be in the moment more, not in a strict way, but in a more aware way. more importantly to enjoy our time of practice. practicing martial arts is difficult, far too difficult if you take the fun out of it.

    • @solarhoney
      @solarhoney 4 роки тому +2

      All those who put down the advantages of following a discipline probably overlook the fact that these unique and great masters who they come to watch and learn from - got mastery and perfection precisely because they followed this discipline and showing respect and paying complete attention to Sensei !!! None of these Sensei, certainly not Sensei Inoue, can be described as robotic or militarised !
      Probably, many of today's people simply don't get this. Different generations I guess. Or maybe - difference of cultures - asian and non asian

    I think karate technique of parrying should be reinvented to be use against classic boxing's punches.

    • @hotlanta35

      Boxing needs to be reinvented not Karate

    • @diosdadoapias
      @diosdadoapias 3 роки тому

      @@hotlanta35 Boxing has already the way to use against boxers but not karate that uses parry or blocking against punches on the face. If you block a punch against a karate punch it will work but not against a boxing fast combination. Karate should adapt bob and waving juts like boxers. Try sparring against a boxers and try to karate block or parry against jab, straight, upper in fast combination.

      sure it can be block. Do you think because he is Tyson a heavyweight and you can not block his punch. If tyson will punch like in karate straight punch then it can be block this way. Now how about right cross can it be block this way. that I do not know. Try it. get a heavyweight karateka to block Tyson's punch.

      Do you plan on fighting Tyson anytime soon? If so it probably does not matter how you block or move; because he is one the best fighters of all time. So your comment mocking the Karate blocking really does not make sense.

      Christopher Rodgers you know less than a speck of wisdom about any fighting art. i know and can see through your lack of wisdom ,and i only have a speck of wisdom myself. i am not trying to put you down in any way. but it is very obvious. stop mentioning art forms, these are only ways of passing on to the student what may be of use to them on their journey, the rest is up to the individual to take from it what they may, and do with it what they may. end of story.
