For a JIC fitting the sealing action occurs on the 37 degree seat of the adapters and not on the threads. The use of an O-ring of any kind should not be necessary. As long as the fittings are not a -6 or -12 size, they should still create a seal on the metal to metal surface and hold together.

If I connect JIC fitting to spherical O ring seal, they will leak or not? Because it happens in low pressure system , and found no leak
