    1:50 So, if I connect JIC 37 male with SAE 45 female. Is it going to hold?

    • @GreggDistributorsLP
      @GreggDistributorsLP  4 роки тому +1

      As long as the fittings are not a -6 or -12 size, they should still create a seal on the metal to metal surface and hold together.

    Is there a working pressure for those fitting? And at which value they could withstand?

    • @GreggDistributorsLP
      @GreggDistributorsLP  2 роки тому

      The question of working pressure is a tough one to answer as there are several variables that have an impact on the ultimate pressure rating for the adapter. Pressure ratings can vary based on the material, the quality of the adapter and ultimately whether or not the adapter is being utilized in a dynamic or static pressure application. Lastly, pressure rating varies based on the size of the JIC fitting. For instance, the Aeroquip -4 JIC has a pressure rating of 7,000psi whereas the -32 JIC has a pressure rating of 1,750psi.

    Hello sr., Which is the Thread angle of JIC fittings?

    • @GreggDistributorsLP
      @GreggDistributorsLP  6 місяців тому

      As shown in the video JIC has a 37 Degree thread.

    • @CBM-k8d
      @CBM-k8d 6 місяців тому

      @@GreggDistributorsLP Thank you Sr., I noted that 37°C is the flare or seat angle, but I found that JIC thread does match with UNF specs, for example: for Dash N4 (1/4") thread spec is 7/16"-20, TPI and outer diameter (male thread =0.44") are the same mentioned in UNF specs for 7/16" thread, it is correct? if yes, thread angle is 60° (I'm sorry for my English, is not my native languaje)

    If I connect JIC fitting to spherical O ring seal, they will leak or not? Because it happens in low pressure system , and found no leak

    • @GreggDistributorsLP
      @GreggDistributorsLP  2 роки тому

      For a JIC fitting the sealing action occurs on the 37 degree seat of the adapters and not on the threads. The use of an O-ring of any kind should not be necessary. If you are worried about leaks on a JIC fitting, you are better off to utilize a specialized sealant such as Loctite 5452, if you want to learn more about this product, it can be seen here: greggdistributors.ca/adhesives-sealants-and-tape/Thread-and-Gasket-Sealants/Pipe-Sealant/lct1265770

    If i have a #10 45degree male and a #10 37 female, will this seal properly?

    • @GreggDistributorsLP
      @GreggDistributorsLP  2 роки тому

      Those will not seal properly, unless you were to use a few adapters to make it work. We would recommend watching our other videos in the Thread Identification series, as this will help you understand it more.

    Ffft or ffwr does not guarantee a leak proof seal. Engineers with clean hands have little actual knowledge.
