    Let me know in the comments below if you need reading glasses now, and if so, which treatment option I mention in this video interests you the most as an alternative to reading glasses 👇.

    It's amazing that you can cut into people's eyes to fix them. The amount of training and knowledge required is astonishing.

    I had monovision LASIK 10 years ago and highly recommend it. I'm in my 50s now and use glasses for comfort with long reading sessions, but I'm not reliant on them to see. I had pretty bad myopia with astigmatism and surgery was the best choice I ever made.

      There’s nothing you can do because it’s part of the aging process. It happens to everyone.

    Just tried Vuity. It is a definite no go for me. Takes 40 mins to start working and my eye whites turned solid red for those 40 mins. Also, it was like someone used a dimmer switch to turn all lights and the sun down by 30%. I was able to read without glasses but everything was in SD, not HD. Only lasted 2 hours and gave me headaches in the mornings. I don’t get headaches. Eyes feel funny for a long time afterwards. Price seems to be dropping already because the reviews are all horrible. I am early 50’s and use only 1.25 for reading glasses.

    Thanks for this video on Presbyopia. Vuity seems a no for me. I suffer migraines and other headaches they seem to hit in or around my right eye. Retinal detachment seems scary. Glasses also give me headaches . You mention you may do a video of vuity use in your clinic. I will try to see if there is one.

    I got a sample from my ophthalmologist today. After two hours, there is no difference, unfortunately. I have 2020 distance and wear 1.5 or 2.0 glasses. I am 60 years old, so just a bit over their narrow 40-55. I read that there are several others hitting the market soon, so hoping one of those will do the trick.

    Hi, I"m 55, my glasses for reading are 2.75. Will this help me? Is there surgery on both eyes or will that ruin my far away vision?
    I am not interested in surgery for 1 eye. Ty

      RLE surgery is typically done for both eyes, and a successful RLE surgery preserves distance vision. Stay tuned and subscribe for an upcoming video about this topic.

    I wanted an implant option in lieu of grandpa glasses. Clinical techs were just nihilistic re. my getting IOLs. As I understand it. these eyedrops are repurposed from decades-old glaucoma treatment. Where do I turn for lasting treatment?

    Making one eye for distance clearly and the other near is mono vision and it isn't adviced giving up binocular vision for monocular vision. It's risky for driving, too.

    What would cause a retinal detachment from using Vuitton?

    • @eyechannelbyeyesurgeon
      @eyechannelbyeyesurgeon  2 роки тому

      The active ingredient in Vuity is pilocarpine. Pilocarpine can be associated with retinal tears and detachments. The mechanism for this is thought to be related to drug-induced forward displacement of the lens which causes forward movement of the vitreous. This can result in traction to areas where retina is tightly adhered to the vitreous.

    I'm currently 40, started seeing symptoms at 37. Reading glasses help, but it'll be great if the Vuity option wasn't prescription only. I also read about another solution that softens the lens.

    • @eyechannelbyeyesurgeon
      @eyechannelbyeyesurgeon  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks for sharing 😀 Because of potential side effects, it is important to have a full eye exam before starting Vuity. Effective eye drops that can soften the lens are a long way from being developed and FDA approved to be used in humans. I hope this helps.
