Best way to Lithgow, IMO. The electric service takes a fair while, though can be cheaper without the Discovery Pass. That coach replacement for the Melbourne XPT sounds quite undesirable. Edit: Fun Fact. Capertee Canyon, aka Capertee Valley, which we see in part at 25:19, is 1km wider than the Grand Canyon in the US, making it the world's widest canyon :)

I miss the buffet car. Nothing beats cake and coffee or wine and cheese whiles rolling through the countryside.
