What surprises me is not “not knowing the trap” but actually is not calculating it, a 2800 GM leaving me a free rook, at-least I should suspect there is some sort of trap

I had a tournament game where a player fell into an opening trap that wasn't even so much a trap but more just a tactic that I found over the board. He resigned in seven moves and I honestly felt bad because it's just one of those deals where you just can't see this stuff and because it was similar to a different type of trap I found this obscure tactic winning the queen with the Bxf7 trick. I'm pretty sure evenFabi wasn't proud of this game. It's just one of those things that happens in chess and we move on. Believe me, Alireza will not fall for this again. Not even in 30 second bullet.

I've never seen this trick, but I picked the right move! Obviously there's the c6 passed pawn threatening to queen and mate threats, and you threaten to displace the black rook so not all the threats can be dealt with.
