That looks like a fancy Weber Kettle with twice the price and half the capability. Btw, how do you clean the ash? How do you clean the grease? How do you even control heat?
Thanks. I was struggling to find any real information about the fusion, so thought I'd share it. I'm hoping to cook a chicken on the rotisserie tonight, so hopefully will get the review up in the next 24-48 hours
Great review, I was looking at one of these but hadn't quite worked out how all the features worked... So really appreciate you taking the time to compile and share, really helpful.. I don't think I'll buy now (these retail at around $1,200 in New Zealand), we get a bit of wind here and I'm concerned that without the hood a lot of heat would be lost... so you saved me from finding out the hard (and expensive) way. Cheers
From everything I have read the range of bbqs from Heston are ranked higher than any other bbq on the market. My buddy put me on to them saying the "Furnace" he bought is far superior to his Webber that he owned. They are probably the most serious bbq you will find from what I understand. The build quality is outstanding.
For 2-6 people, nothing is better than a Weber :o You can just do so many things on a Weber you can not on this BBQ, although not saying this one is bad, as the guy said, if you know what your buying even this one looks great. (although I dont know the price)
So with no lid or upper and lower vents, how is temperature controlled? Also with the hot zone/cool zone, a lid keeps in your heat still cooking over the cool zone. I’m a little skeptical about the design and using charcoal with no lid.
All valid points. It will do a job but lacks the control of many other grills. Not my grill of choice but some will love the aesthetics and features but for BBQ enthusiasts, their are better solutions.
After seeing this line of BBQs i decided to have a look for some reviews, the BBQ looks great ~ My issues are I'm guessing the price is very high, for what is pretty much a flat top/single grill BBQ style. he electric coal start too isn't amazing.. I'd still rather just use a chimney instead of waiting 30min ;s But if you just like to BBQ things that suit this style of BBQ, looks pretty nice!
Great great review.. I see some bad comments .. I understand.. but if they only understand what this is mean for and who .. if u have alot of grills .. u will understand and appreciate this.. this is a fast cook .. but takes alittle long to heat up .. that fine.. im a person that has a portable smoker and I bring my battery pack with me it runs it for 18hours straight at the water front or beaches.. people gravitate towards me and wirh this by my side .. I will be un stop able . Both of them on .. yes .. slow cook and a fast one .. work smarter not harder .. u did great 👍🏾
Agreed great review from Hector. Totally agree with your comment some grill handles certain tasks well, not so with others and that’s okay. And for some has multiple grills just because it’s fun! I’m kinda late in the game buying possibly Fusion or Hub. I love it for its beauty and ease of use. I do agree observations on charcoal a little close to the grill grate. And did see reviewers’ steaks a tad burnt. However, I want to share that I saw on one of Heston’s videos on grilling that he likes to turn the meat often as he cooks for the desired doneness. Hey I’m not going to argue with a Michelin chef how he grills! But everyone grills differently. So perhaps if one doesn’t like turning often like Heston, Everdure probably not best choice. I love grilling and have a Napoleon gas grill and a Weber with rotisserie feature but do find it a little cumbersome and definitely not as pretty lol. Hector’s review and your comments so on point. I think the Fusion works! Thank you!
Obviously didn’t do their market research before designing this 20 years ago this would’ve been the bollocks but now it’s just a pretty looking overpriced direct grill with Bluetooth go to Argos and buy the same thing for 25 quid minus the rotisserie of course but again you can get a decent barbecue with the registry for £200 or under all style with no purpose why is the rest of the world so far ahead of us when it comes to outdoor cooking. Love the channel by the way keep up the good work
Extremely basic, i can just some charcoal in between 2 bricks and put a web on top. whould deliver the same result the only minus there is no rotisserie . But you can always buy an electric rotisserie for 100$
I purchased a Hub II grill and there is a problem with the rotisserie. It pauses about 2 seconds in the same location on every rotation and then continues. This might not sound like much of an issue but it causes whatever I am cooking to overcook or burn in the area that faces the fire when it pauses. I contacted Everdure via email and they responded via email and promised to repair it. Six months have passed and they have not sent a tech to repair it. They stopped responding to my emails. Don't bother calling the customer service number. They don't answer and never return a call.
Ha! Definitely not Scottish :-) I come from Yorkshire (Hull) and have lived in Australia for 12 years but haven't lost my accent. So more 'Up North' but not as far North as Scotland :-)
It's not meant to be anything like a Weber. The Everdure has a built in rotisserie, has an automatic charcoal starter, does not have a lid and doesn't do low and slow. Two very different units. This shows the differences and you make the choice. I have a Weber and love it but I have lots of other BBQs that are better than a kettle but the Weber is very versatile at its price point.
I will stick to my XL Big Green Egg. I don't really need a rotisserie that bad and make great food already. Doesn't look all that heavy duty. Rather have a Napoleon or Weber Grill over this.
None of these were cooked the same, and the temp was not consistent across even the individual cuts much less between all three. It took 20 minutes to get a small amount of coal to which you then had to add dead ones leaving cool spots. This is longer than for my kettle grill for less consistent results. This may be good for rotisserie, but I don’t understand how you went through this experience, edited this video, and then came up with a conclusion that this is acceptable for a $1K USD product.
Forget about the Everdure, most rotisseries do not have a lid. This is quite normal. Its not a gas BBQ. There are quite a few things I'm not keen on with this but the rotisserie part is actually OK, not brilliant but OK
The weber GA with rotisserie can do the same job for quarter of the price.. what a limited overpriced piece of kit.. i could imagine yuppies with too much much money and no bbq skills to be your target market
So a rotisserie and direct heat cooker with an electric start and a stupid expensive price tag. You’ve got to be a real numb nuts to buy this. Plus no way to adjust the grate height. This looks like it came right out of a Sharper Image store
Some people will spend $20 on a Casio watch, others will spend $15000 on a Rolex and they both just tell the time. All I've done is to go through the Pro's and Con's of the Fusion and that will help people decide whether or not they want to buy it. Obviously this doesn't suit you and the Jumbuck is what you are after but equally some people will want to buy the Fusion. Like everything, be informed, looks at the pro's and con's, decide whether anything is a show stopper and understand what your budget is. The Jumbuck is the Casio, the Everdure might be a Tag Heuer and some people might want the Rolex of the BBQ world, each to their own :-)
Thanks for the review. Finding honest reviews like this is hard to come by.
Thanks Aaron 😁 I try to play fair when reviewing, highlighting the good and bad.

This looks really interesting but I just got the Nuke Delta. I think this Everdure needs a hood option.
Nice review. Looking forward to seeing what the rotisserie can do.

Could you use the barbecue without the stand? Thinking more of a portable bbq.
Sure can

This doesn't look like a serious BBQ. I assume it is for people that want to have a flashy BBQ without actually using that often.

Stopthegreed well I am very happy with my Napoleon. It produces great results whether that is hot and fast or slow and low.
For 2-6 people, nothing is better than a Weber :o

@@Stopthegreed mate the furnace is a grill isn’t it? your mate has lost the plot lol
So can you please tell me what are the differences between this grill vs other way cheaper charcoal grills out there
Great video! I enjoyed it.
Thank you!
A very expensive, cheaply made grill with extremely limited options. No heat control, coals too close to food.
Exactly
Uh i could make one better
I've had my eye on the fusion, but that heat is to close to the grills. Doesn't give you options like a Kamado or even a weber kettle, for cooking.
One height level is not very flexible. Definitely has some major limitations.
So with no lid or upper and lower vents, how is temperature controlled? Also with the hot zone/cool zone, a lid keeps in your heat still cooking over the cool zone. I’m a little skeptical about the design and using charcoal with no lid.

Hectors Smoke House thanks for your thoughts!

It's nice but I was expecting more than this. It's so simple design and heating system area small. It has to be covered all area.
the hotplate is just an ignition system then you spread the started coals out and fill up with fresh coals...
No lid only starts half the grill
Can you do a pig on the fusion?
I'd think the Fusion is too small but you should be able to fit something on the Hub
Weber kettle can do all of this and more. Like smoking.
But this is a review of the Fusion? My 'Which BBQ should I buy?" video goes more through comparisons.

No airflow control!? Just a 1960s stove element in the base? No thanks, I'll stick to my kamado.
Massive unit for so little cooking area.. nothing beats the good old webber

A grill with no lid? Sorry, all serious grills should have a lid. This thing is a toy.

ACTUALLY!
Ler and sler! :-)

You're going to loss so much heat on the rotisserie because it hasn't got a lid
Forget about the Everdure, most rotisseries do not have a lid. This is quite normal. Its not a gas BBQ. There are quite a few things I'm not keen on with this but the rotisserie part is actually OK, not brilliant but OK

only heats enough coals for half the grill!! Stoppped watching
Nope
Meh... plenty of alternatives with better features and a much cheaper price.
What a load of garbage. Look how close the food was to the coals. Tiny cooking area, no lid. Style over substance all the way.
looks very flimsy
No, thanks! That's not nearly worth €900...

A £40 jumbuck from Homebase would be a better rotisserie than this, this thing is £900
