Barry you are a bloody genius I have just cancelled ordering a mold and hours of getting no where to know getting my little river box done. Thanks keep up the excellent tying.
I love when you play with 🔥 fire! You're a true glue melt artist 👍 I've only made some egg flys with a glue gun. Then some minnow bodies with silver and gold flakes sticks. None were as polished as yours! I'll have to find that hook too, it's a new one on me. I have to find those "industrial" glue sticks also. Thanks again Barry 👍😁👏
Thanks Barry! A very interesting application of hot-melt glue for fly tying. Like how you can manipulate the shape, will have to do some experimenting with it. Hank
Fly tiers are finally realizing the benefits and qualities of HOT MELT GLUE. I have been tying flies with hot melt glue for more then 10-years. Here is a video showing many patterns tied with hot melt glue using the HMG Fly Systems process. Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/93t3mlpuGbw/v-deo.html
You can make this same fly in size 14 scud hook, using the regular glue and peacock feathers. I even put a holographic tinzel on top and gave it a nice finish.
Oh wow, I had no idea the glue stayed soft enough to allow the thread to segment the body. My mind is continually blown by wooden day tying techniques and materials used. 🤯😅
That's the new generation and the new revolution of tying flys. !!! Amazing thx bud
Thanks Simon.
Nicely done sir! I never would’ve thought of that. Impressive!!
Thanks Robert!

Good to hear Barnaby, good luck with it.

Thanks Mike, it should work well in your neck of the woods!

This technique is genius. I going to try it for making under bodies for dragonfly nymphs as well.
Great Idea with that Glue.

Well good on you Joe. I think my first pattern with melt glue was in 1994 a salt water shrimp.

You are so welcome Steve.
Hi there Barry can you do caddis body the same way?
Hi, yes you can for caddis pupa and larva. thefeatherbender.com/2016/08/26/melt-glue-caddis-pupa-tutorial/
タイイング凄く解りやすいです。これなら、私も!このフライは、素人は、無理ですね!しかし、フックは、マスタッドなんですね!日本では、かなり、珍しいブランドですよ!
Hi, you could also use a Partridge caddis emerger K14A or any other curved grub hook.
👍
Takk Torstein!
Can we buy the colored glue at your Amazon shop?
Hi Robert, yes you can buy packets of mixed colours or just clear for very little money.
What bobbin holders is that?
Hi Kyle, its a Marc Petitjean TT Bobbin holder.
Realmente ingenioso 👍
Grasias Roberto.
Супер просто буду тоже так делать
Thanks.
How durable is that?
Hi FFS, extremely durable, but you have to remember that it is hot glue! You can't have it in the boot of your car in a fly box on a hot day!
Do u use these on steelhead, or brown trout
Hi Colton, I have not used them on Steelhead, but they have been very successful on sea run browns and Arctic char, so I don't see why not!!
@@Thefeatherbender ok thank you
