Yeah so happy to see this video. I just bought this tool and began to practice with it. Best results so far was when I reduced the pressure. Thank you for sharing all the tips and tricks Becca. Wishing you a super week. Hugs Susan
Ugh Barbara!!! You're too smart! On November 14th a video will be out about testing non-Cricut brand foils!!! But to give you a hint... they don't look so hot :(
So I'm sorry if I missed it but this is the 4th video I have watched, and nobody has explained how the foil attaches. The foil doesn't look like it has adhesive, so is the tool attachment heated? How does the foil adhere to the cardstock?
@@Kristina.Mendez this is what I'm trying to figure out. I have a scoring tool and I'm wondering if that will work instead, but nobody's explaining how the foil adheres to the cardstock. I'm not a newbie, I've had my cricut for 5-6 years, but this tool is newer and I am not very familiar with how it works.
Hi I have just bought a cricut and I bought a tablet to use with it and just found out u can't use the foil transfer kit with the tablet can u use it with a laptop please
Any ideas for using with paperboard that is 1mm thick? There aren't many options for materials and when I tried it with the 1.5matteboard setting the foil is spotty 😔
Hello! So, the foil transferring actually will not be changed by how thick your paper is. Also, there are some factors that effect your foil turn out. The thicker the tip the spottier we found ours looked, also how tight you have the foil taped down is very important too. You need to make sure it's good and tight :) Best of luck!
This is the best tutorial I have found online for the Cricut Foil.
Aww that means so much, thank you for your kind words!
Nicely done and very easy instructions. Thank you
You're welcome!

It adheres with pressure :)
Can this tool be used with an AIR 2
I can’t wait to try this!!!! Thank You for the info 😃
You should! Thank you for watching!
That looks beautiful! Do you need the foil transfer kit to cut foil? Does the standard fine point blade not work for foil?
You cut the foil with scissors and apply it with tape to your design to be drawn, you don't cut the foil with the Cricut :)
@@MakersGonnaLearn Oh ok I see, thank you. I'm a new member and still have lots to learn. So can this process be done without the transfer kit?

Hello! Yes, the Cricut Foil Transfer System along with the Cricut Knife Blade can only be used with a laptop/desktop :)
@@MakersGonnaLearn Thank you :)

Price at Cricut is $39.99, great price compared to other tools.
For real!!!
Will the foil work on leather?
We haven't tried it, but we do not believe it will :) Good question though!
Super cute!
Thank you so much!
i love this!
Thank you so much!
I lost the tape that came with mine. 😩 I have no idea how. Can I just use washi tape?
Yes ma'am, washi tape will work very well with it! :)
@@MakersGonnaLearn Thank you! You guys are awesome!
I just tried it today on leather and it wouldn’t work. Any hacks? I tried the faux leather and it was ok but not like on paper.
I could be wrong but I didn't think foil was made for thicker products like leather.
🤷♀️🤷♀️
Unfortunately, you cannot use this product on leather, it's meant only for paper :)
You are correct my dear!
So glad I saw this! Time save as I was just getting ready to use on faux leather! Thanks!
@@anitamilner9048 Carol’s Cricut Crafts shows you how to use on faux leather. I found it after.
Hey, I almost missed this. Thought it was Sunday.
Haha, it happens! Welcome!
My line type does not have a foil option!
Are you using it on the "desktop" version? I don't think it works on the tablet version or the phone app.
I only have an ipad, so only usi g the app.
@@nikkim74 I think currently the foil transfer tool is only compatible with the desktop version. Hopefully @Official Cricut will change this soon!
Our friend is correct, it is not compatible with the Ipad, sorry!!
Thanks for your help!
