4:23 - All Might had no idea about this stuff with OFA in the beginning, as Mirio was under consideration to be a candidate before he met Deku. All Might just found out about it more recently before the war, where he wrote in the notebook, then crossed it out.
Ngl deku’s speech about wanting to save shigaraki with the ost in the background made me tear up a little the first time I watched this episode

Honestly seeing Nana burst into tears made me cry like I can’t imagine the pain she must feel and she physically can’t do anything.

Something that I have noticed throughout watching season 6 is that there have been so many call backs/refferences to season 1. The line "It's a giant villain" is from Midoriya in episode 1 of the whole series.
This arc is the source of almost ALL of my speculation regarding OFA and why I’m so insistent on my theories and how I’ve cultivated it. It was the start of my truly in depth research of this show. I had an eye for detail back then, but I REALLY started practicing and developing it SPECIFICALLY because I started noticing a deeper nuance here.
I will say I don’t mind at all that All-Might’s blazing vestige is still. Mainly BECAUSE he’s injured and can’t use his power. So it’s like at a standstill for now. But the fact he’s on fire tells me that he holds the prime of OFA even now. And there’s two differences between everyone else and Deku. Deku is partially covered in fog, and everyone has an equally sized upholstered throne. None of them are better or worse, each quirk stands the same in OFA. (Also the 2nd and 3rd holder have their backs turned in a way that implies disagreement less ostracized. It’s their CHOICE not to speak. And considering Deku’s will to save…and their specific era…yeah, I kinda get it.) Yet Deku has no throne. The fog partially covering Deku is obviously meant to be taken as his control. He controls 45%. But the other holders mastered 100% of their era so they appear and can fight in full. And the throne? I believe that is the symbol of the prime. We don’t know how much is passed when OFA is passed. But it’s always smaller than the grandest aspect of the power, and somewhere along the line it is vastly improved. And All-Might was already injured when he met Deku, so I’m betting he gave him even less. And THAT is what Deku works to master. 1/60th of prime All-Might. And when he DOES claim the prime, it’ll likely be like Goku getting super saiyan. (Or if we’re getting REALLY technical, Gohan who Deku ACTUALLY has personality traits in common.) And I do not believe that has occurred yet. Almost ALL of it comes from these chapters. Heck, my theory of how Deku stockpiled his power comes in the next few episodes.
This also revealed a substantial amount that All-Might KNEW. He KNEW OFA was killing the quirk holders and could be killing Deku. That’s what Bakugo and All-Might were talking about as Float training was happening. And he MAY have realized that All-Might’s quirklessness wasn’t a factor. Didn’t tell Deku ANY of it. And while All-Might didn’t have as much IN DEPTH vestige encounter, I still standby my quirk accusations of All-Might awakening. The rapid expansion HAS occurred in Deku, but I still have yet to see proof the prime has been claimed. But I DO think his maximum will be MUCH greater than All-Might’s when the time comes for the prime to reach Deku.
I can’t WAIT. I’ve been waiting SO long to talk about this in the anime.
That being said, we also have why this arc is so personal to me. I want all of you to pay attention to Deku’s eyes throughout this arc. This kid is burdened with a COUNTRY worth of pressure. And as an empath….let’s just say what he’s feeling was completely and utterly inevitable. Deku has abandoned any sense of true emotional support he had with his friends. I’ve also suspected for the longest time he said something more personal to Uraraka, but she DEFINITELY took it harder than anyone else even if I now know otherwise.
This episode is RICH with lore but I’ll repost the full OFA theory once we get to the part where we see the signals of Deku’s progression.

If I remember correctly All Might tells Deku that talking to the vestiges is something he never experienced. He SAW them
once like Deku did in the sports festival, but didn’t tap into it himself until Deku met all of them inside OFA. So it’s unlikely he was aware of OFAs stress on the bodies of ppl who already had quirks.

Seems like this episode was very informative to hear about “One For All” abilities and seek on powers being useful in Deku’s journey of being a solo hero at the end. I guess people call that side of Deku “Dark Deku” or keep “Deku” as his hero name.

Honestly I think if OFA was passed down to someone with a specific healing quirk it would stabilize. I think that's how AFO is able to hold as many stole quirks as he does because he has some healing quirks to stabilize their amazing powers. If he were to pass down OFA to someone like Eri she may be able to use it without any trouble due to the quality of her own quirk, she can literally make OFA weaker or stronger if she gets a handle on her own abilities.
Plus she could use her max power more often cause than she could heal herself after breaking her bones.
Early on during season 2's equivalent of the manga I had a similar line of thought, that they should find someone with a quirk that could mitigate the side effects. Ether strengthening their body or a regeneration that could repair the damage. I don't think Eri would be a good match because I don't believe she can use her quirk on herself. She might of erased herself by now if she could, given her lack of control.
AFO's inherent ability is to hold multiple quirks, and it was the ability he was born with; he suffers no ill effects from it

Well, I loved Deku's speech. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect him to say so I was as nervous as you are 😂, nor how the users would respond, but it seems I was worried for naught. And I also had a feeling that we might Learn something about one for all. I'm surprised you assumed that we wouldn't. How come zamber?

All Might didn't know that OFA needed to be given to someone without a power when he chose Deku. They only found out when he looked up how the 4th died

Am I the only one who is feeling Avatar Kyoshi vibes on Nana Shimura? Also this made me realize though it is not Canon, Bakugo from the movie had OFA so if he kept it and Allmight did not touched the fingers of Deku and Bakugo thus giving back OFA to Deku. Bakugo could've died early, also Mirio could've died early as well

Just to clarify some stuff they mentioned in S5, the 4th user and All might are anomalies compared to the rest of the users 1,2, and 3 all fought and died to afo around the same time period, hense why the 4th didn't fight afo and spent his turn just getting stronger for 18 years until he died from multiple quirks, as for 5 (banjo),6, and 7(Nana) they all died rather young after inheriting it (no more then about 10 years) and next was all might who inherited it at about 15 and held it for 40 years)

I think all might will have to die to fully appear in the vestige world which I hope never happens, but it might happen one day. The next episode is so good.

To answer your question, I don't believe All Might knew how Hikage Shinomori (4th) died when he gave Deku One For All. Aside from Nana and a bit about the first, he knew next to nothing about the past users. After Black Whip manifested he started researching the past users and their quirks, finding out what he could about them. This led him to discovering Hikage's official cause of death, old age at 40.
I don't know why All Might appears as a man made of flames, not for sure anyway. The most popular theory is because he didn't have a quirk to add to the pot. Still I can't rule out it being because he is still alive. It's my understanding that all the other past users were already dying when they passed on OFA, not lasting much longer. Granted All For One appearing the way he does inside the mental world suggests the former.
For a quick reference, All Might held the quirk for 40 years and Hikage held it for 18. Everyone else held it for considerably less time than the others. If for the sake of argument One For All is 100 years old, then the two of them together held it for 58 years, leaving 42 to be split between the other six.
PS: One reason I don't think All Might knew about Hikage's death is because of his fight with Sir Nighteye. The two had a falling out because All Might chose to give One For All to someone without a quirk, as oppose to Nighteye's pick of Mirio, who had a powerful albeit it difficult to control quirk. While Mirio could certainly benefit from OFA in the short term, it would cut his hero career short. Deku being born quirkless is actually a positive, but he didn't seem to make that argument. More likely All Might could relate to Deku, as they were both born quirkless in a world of super powers.
