@Happy DeLarge Looks like someone doesn't understand gallows humor. It's ok, lad, it's not for everybody. Did you know that there are hoods in Chicago where they offed over 50 in one single weekend ? The other hoods around America are not much better. That's right: those places are battlefields and no one is doing a damn thing about it. And entire generations grow up there deprived with nothing but drugs, violence and poverty all around them. Yes, sometimes the best way to understand the madness of a situation is by cracking a joke about it. So take your immature trolling somewhere else, kiddo.
Michael Cuellar okay I get he’s doing his thing and I like his videos. But this is Los Angeles. When you drive slow in a car at night and keep going around the same blocks in Los Angeles hoods, you’re asking for trouble even if you mean no harm. You saw quite a few people get spooked especially in the alley/side streets. . We’re not talking Philadelphia, New York or Detroit. I remember I went to Los Angeles ten years ago on a side trip from Vegas and I was waiting for a light rail car on a corner and a group of guys circled the corner watching me. I nearly shit bricks.
I grew up in this area in the 1990s. On the average day (or night), it was pretty tame, nothing crazy happening. Basically, a normal neighborhood. On rare occasions, I did see some crazy stuff go down though. Overall, I generally didn't feel unsafe, despite it being a so called bad neighborhood. Believe it or not, the people who seemed the most threatening to me at that time were the police officers, who seemed to regard the entire community as "the enemy." Years ago as a teenager, I worked at a big retail chain with my friend and we got off at midnight. We live near each other, I get home, and we have a chat outside the entrance (gated apartment complex). A police car appears from two streets away and stops with the front door windows perfectly lined up with where we are standing. It's a very dark night and the patrol car is pretty far away, then they suddenly use some kind of long range, high-power flash light to shine light in our faces. They did not stop with the light, they just kept shining it in our faces continuously. We decided to go home immediately since we didn't want things to spiral out of control if the police decided to escalate things further. I knew people who had been attacked by police officers (even though they didn't commit any crimes). I don't know if it's still like this because I don't live in the hood anymore, but that's how it was back in the day.
Yeah that's only probably because you're black. Put any white, latin, mixed or Asian person in one of these hoods, it'd be a hellhole for them. They're called ghettos for a reason. They're segregated and 'their people' stick together
@@anatorres-ym8ke Nope. I live in South Central Now, the only time you’ll encounter “the hood” side of it is if you go out looking for it. Sure the streets are dirty but a lot of people here just live a normal life and seperate themselves from the bad side
@@danielmodesto4959 Yeah thats basically the gist of it, I live like 10 min away and my general experience is exactly how you put it: you never really encounter the hood stuff unless you're going out of your way to see it. I have seen some weird stuff late at night tho lol
Ahh my stopping grounds, nothing like a nice drive down south la at night, you get use to it. Go down florence and figueroa you'll see something go down.

I used to take the last bus every night around 3am that went from downtown LA to LAX for work, basically took a tour through south LA and im a Jewish guy. Never had any problems, met a couple cool people waiting at spots too. Just have to carry yourself a certain way. Those alleys are another level tho.
@@madelynn7377 I used to go there all the time as well during those times and a few times when I was a lil drunk I would have to go piss in the alleys. I always did it with respect tho. I'm Venezuelan

Back in the early 90s I got forced to drive thru South Central while tripping very hard on LSD at like 3 am. That was one of the craziest experiences of my life.
If you come from anywhere other than LA you're going to have a hard time adjusting but it's calm. I'm an afro-cartibean brittish person so I'm used to ghettos but after I lived here for a year I learned just how dangerous it was to live in these type of areas. At first I didn't care much about how everything was until a store got shot up while I was buying groceries. I'd say I handled it well but during the short time I was in that situation I decided living in those conditions wasn't for me.
Fam I reckon NYC is better if you’re Caribbean big communities there. Anywhere else in America is AA and they don’t really fw Africans and Caribbean’s too much
