He feels he should have done more to stop Mikey's drug use so him checking in on Carmy in such a aggressive manner is his way of making sure he does more now. It's a great character change in him that happens.
This is beautifully done. They always joke that Richie isn’t a part of the family but you can really tell that he’s the the middle honorary brother (at least in my head.) I always felt like because Carmy was gone. He always took care of Mikey, the best he could and he really loves the Berzatto’s is because they really took them in as one of their own, and that kind of loyalty is very hard to find. The love was truly there and rooted and deep it’s just sometimes so painful and riveting to watch. If that is a family for you, I don’t know what is.😅❤️
Boi4369, That’s true. Carmy is so used to every good thing in his life getting ruined that he panicks when things go right. And the longer things went well with Claire, the more he panicked, which is partly what he lost it in the freezer and went off. He’s so scared things are going to get messed up and, worse, that it’ll be his fault. So he sabotaged his relationship with Claire because the anticipation was driving him mad. He didn’t mean to and unfortunately she was hurt. But I hope they can work through the incident. I really love Carmy and Claire together and I think she’s really good for him.
Richie doesn’t have any siblings and isn’t close with his father. He said his best friends mom is like his mom. He’s divorced and doesn’t see his daughter that much, all he has is Natalie and Carmy😢
Richie has so many demons in his closet that no one is trying to help him with and he's just trying his best to be there for everyone strictly through friendship. He might be the most annoying, he might not know his tone or have good decorum. But he's looking out for you while so much weight is already on his shoulders because he doesn't want you to bear any of the weight. He doesn't want you to feel like he's felt. He loves you. In his own weird, fucked up way. He just wants to make sure you're okay. That is what makes his character development in season two so important but sad in a way. He puts that all aside and metamorphoses into something new but he still only cares about the people around him and not himself.
This show fucking aims to hurt. Theres so much damn pain and amped up dysfunctionality that, no shit, why Carmey is so messed up. Jamie Lee Curtis did an amazing job. Richie is a fucking dark hero.
This reminds me a lot of me and my brother. I love that kid to death. Sometimes I can be aggressive with him, not physically but words of encouragement get stuck under yelling. I have yelled at him before trying to get him to understand something. I have so much love for him that sometimes I can’t help but yell at him hoping it will get through to him…hoping he’ll learn. He can be very hard headed and all I want for him is to succeed. I would do anything for him. My brother is my best friend and he always will be. I love you max

That scene with Carm in the walk in is one of the most beautifully acted and shot scenes I’ve ever seen.. Incredibly devastating as well
