The Archetype. SCP designation 2786. An animated TF2 character, or not. What is he? Where did he come from? Where did he go? Where did you come from, Cotton-Eyed Joe?
Another attempt at an SCP SFM with TF2 characters, this time featuring SCP-2786. Because despite my reservations on the SCP Foundation as a whole, there are still many pieces of excellent work and 2786 is one worth turning into an SCP animation.
SCP-2786, the Archetype, is the designation for a metaphysical entity narrative-based bipedal humanoid resembling a Caucasian male approximately 50 years of age of Texan origin. SCP-2786 will be idiosyncratically perceived by any being that interacts with it, varying in traits from interaction to interaction.
SCP-2786 dons a hardhat with a mining light, goggles (which emit orange lights at times), a wrist-mounted computer, and red/blue overalls. SCP-2786 often employs two Walther PPK pistols for combat, but has also been seen with other weaponry. SCP-2786 refers to itself as "the Engineer", or "Engie" for short.
Oh and one more thing. This shit ain't canon. So don't get on my ass again like it was for SCP-662. Because of the TF2 characters I had, the Engineer was the best one. Is this a TF2 SFM or SCP SFM? Idk. Probably both.

- I had no idea what the hell I was originally going to do for my next SCP animation until Jack5 suggested SCP-2786. It fit really well into an ongoing series anyways (a character that goes around different media, killing people and shit like that) so I did it.
- This video was originally going to be 3 fucking minutes. It is now 8. Help me.
- Thanks to me making the D-Class models, I now know how to manipulate textures and posters. God help us all.
- My favorite anomalies on the Foundation are still 2639, 3780, 4856, 093, 1861, and 3021. But 2786 is quite close.
- There were originally going to be more TF2 characters as D-Class. Unfortunately, I got too lazy and didn't get around to it.
- The SCP researchers are hard as hell to animate.
- The codeword is yeet. 10 fan points and the right to say that you read this properly. Somehow.
- I did not expect my last SCP video, 662 | Butler's Bell, to do that well. Then again, channel's been stagnant for a year and I'm concerned that UA-cam now thinks I'm an SCP animator instead of a TF2 animator.
- I will test another SCP animation, involving Dr. Bright going to federal prison for his crimes against minors. Let's see how it goes.
- I had written about Engie in another anomaly, RPC-750, back in 2019. I had no idea that 2786 would fit it more.
- This is not canon. At all.
- Total time spent, 310 hours in Source Filmmaker. A few more editing. SFM spent 6 days rendering this.

This made me read the original article, and holy crap its interesting to say the least. Its not only just an interesting anomoly, but I also see it as another moral conundrum within the Foundation. At the end of the article, after the 2nd interview, the SCP is fully contained and now cannot escape, and ends the article by begging for its release, wanting to go home. Pictures imply the SCP is just a little girl. But the interviewer does have a point about the SCP not being there during any other crisis, and let out D-class, criminals, under the assumption that the Foundation were the bad guys. Its another moral grey area that I really like

In what way? We were specifically using sentence mixing for that is how the character has talked since the beginning of the series. If you are having trouble understanding something, there are subtitles.

You might be confused about what SCP-2786 even is, or how we decided to adapt it for this animation. Allow me to explain.
SCP-2786 is effectively a self-insert protagonist that manifests itself into media in order to more quickly resolve conflict. Over the course of the original article, 2786 starts affecting the SCP Foundation directly, because they themselves are fictional, yet they are able to contain it inside its own documentation.
For our adaptation, we used our RED Engie character, having previously appeared in Engie's Hitman Adventures and Engie's Escape Adventures. He is able to manifest in the rest of Dummie's animations, including this one, but once again the SCP Foundation finds a way to trap him.

I have a question. What is the containment chamber made of, since the first time he was interviewed he escape but the second time the video pans out showing one sided glass and a bunch of cubes around it, is it a type a of material to contain 2786? Or is he just contained in his own thoughts not being able to escape it? Oh and what's it's special containment procedures?
The containment chamber is its most recent manifestation, currently this video you're watching right now. As long as it is being played on loop, Engie will never escape.

Yes, but the SCP Foundation is notoriously good at containing entities, so they no doubt have several devices in different sites all looping the same video.
