Nate Emond That's an amazing deal! Thrift shops in my area tend to put those sort of things into ecom, which is their online auctions. Once in awhile we will find an old Nintendo product in the store.
We forgot to mention the Japanese exclusive Game Boy Light. The Game Boy Light is only slightly bigger than the Game Boy Pocket and features an electroluminescent backlight for low-light conditions.

Another interestig fact: There was a motor scooter made by Aprilia. The Aprilia SR50 Ditech, which had a very advanced injection system instead of the usual carburetor. Tuning is very popular with normal carb scooters, but suddenly became very hard due to the new injection system of the Ditech, since it was computer controlled. So they came up with a Gameboy Cartridge, that you would put into your Gameboy and then connect it to the Ditech via cable. From there on you could alter and change the setup of your scooter and remove performance restrictions, which increased the top speed by almost 100% ! Eventually the Ditech models failed, because tuning was such a hassle. That was around 10 years ago. Today, scooters are all back on carburetor engines!

Link's Awakening DX is awesome. It mostly just added the Color Dungeon and beautiful colors. The game works on GB and GBC, but the dungeon was only finishable on GBC and got you either a red or blue tunic which boosted your attack or defense. There's also a photographer in the game that let's you print 12 pictures from specific points in the game using the Gameboy Printer. Never used that feature or owned the camera/printer for that matter. But simply finding him in the world and getting an in-game gallery was a nice little collectible, too. I know there's some more small changes like bugfixes, overall it's just a better version (unless you're a speedrunner, maybe) even if you're playing on original GB.

Great video but... Donkey Kong Land was not a GB Color game. that was a regular GB game that just happened to be in a yellow cart. The IR on GBC was for special features in games - some used it with TV remotes to get secrets, etc. Wasn't enough for 2 players. The GB Camera was actually a Gameboy Pocket accessory - came out before the GBC by a few months. The printer will still print if you load receipt tape in it.
Older pokemon games don't work with GBC's IR, Gold/Silver do. Only a few games took advantage of the IR feature. With Mission: Impossible, you can program the GBC to learn your TV remote control's functions. There's a few videos on youtube that teaches you how to do this
I think the GBC analogy may be a tad off. I'd say GBC is to GB as the DSi is to DS. Or New 3DS to 3DS. It's a slight upgrade, with exclusive (enhanced) titles that can't be played on the former, but the underlying system is largely unchanged.
+FierceDeityXeroX DS to DSi is a closer analogy from a technical standpoint, but there were only three DSi-exclusive physical games ever released in North America: they essentially never took advantage of the extra performance outside of download games. The GBC, on the other hand, had hundreds of games (576 released worldwide), and most of them were GBC exclusive.
+MoviesNGames007uk Yes, and those only made up roughly one quarter of all GBC games. Three quarters of GBC games (which amounts to around 415 games) were GBC-exclusive. The DSi got three in North America.
The Gameboy Color was my first game console. I got the atomic purple one with a Nyko Worm Light and a copy of Spider-Man for Christmas, in 2000. I don't actually remember ever having any other games for it. It's now 20 years later and I'm playing Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge connected to a Super Gameboy, plugged into my Analogue Super NT and displaying in beautiful 1080p on my 40" TV. And I couldn't be more into it.
Hahah John is very entertaining! Great watch! P.S. The gameboy boot-up screen will forever be the utmost sweetest and utter euphoric sound to the ears :-)
+John Riggs: RIGG'd Games Wow, awesome to hear from you! Loved your analysis and humour in this video! And you have a youtube account? SUBBED! :-p And for me, the boot up screen that evokes the most inner, visceral feels would have to be the Dreamcast. That beep from the VMU, followed by the lucid tap water sounds. But unlike the gameboy, it kinda makes me feel a bit too mellow, like the Windows 95 startup...
Love having John Riggs on your channel and very informative. I grew up with the OG Gameboy and just recently picked up the New 3DS. I must say, quite a lot has changed!! I'd love to see me more NES highlights from John again as well.
Can't believe you didn't mention Super Mario Bros for game boy color!! My favorite Gameboy color game of all time! I just pulled out my old game boy color ( aqua color) from my parents house to play again and will definitely look to buy some of the cool games you mentioned! Love your channel
I'm certain now, John Riggs is my favorite person you bring on the show. John, you are freaking hilarious and I love your knowledge on the products you bring in. Can't wait to see more of you Riggs! (Also your shirts are always bad ass)
I got my Game Boy Color in 1999 and the first game i had was Super Mario Deluxe for colour, and i was addicted o it, along side with Turok! (which was for Standard Game Boy too)
My grandma owned at least 4 original Gameboys. And probably another 4 Gameboy colors. She is well into her 80s and still has them. She had to keep getting new ones because she loved and played Tetris Soo much that she would wear out the "down" button. So every two years like clockwork my parents would buy her a new one. She loved the Gameboy. Idk if she plays it as much as she use to but I remember when I was younger that's what she loved to do. She would sit in her chair with her lamp and play Tetris all day. She also had one of those handyboys too but hated how heavy it was. I tryed using it one time too and I could stand it. I bet she still has it too. She use to have Wolfenstein3D on her windows 95 and everytime my parents would go play cards with them I would always spend that time in her office shooting Nazis. She is and was always an awesome grandma. Love your videos man keep up the good work.
I just did a shout out to you on my new video and put a link under info. I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work that you do. I recently got a Game Boy and a Game Boy advance from a family member. I have been a huge fan of your channel for your. Not only do you make videos that are easy to follow and informative, everyone on your channel is just so positive. Seriously, keep up the good work.
Donkey Kong Land is definitely not a gameboy color game, it's a standard gameboy game that has the same color-scheme options as any other gameboy game I've ever played.
Yeah, it pre-dates the GBC. I think John's confused it for the actual backwards compatible GBC games, which were all on black carts, save for Pokemon Gold and Silver. Possibly due to the fact that it's one of the original GB games that the GBC has pre-set palettes built-in for (mostly all Nintendo published games), which beyond just applying a different swatch of colours to the 4 tone monochrome, can apply different palettes to sprites. Metroid II will display with Samus roughyl in her traditional colours, for instance.
Final Fantasy legend was great. Great action, absolutely amazing soundtrack and I think it was probably one of the only Gameboy games with an ending to make me tear up. Other games I spent hours of enjoyment on were Pokémon Yellow & Crystal, Wario Land 2 & 3, all 3 Zelda games, Solomon's Key and I think a special mention goes out to Dragon Warrior 3, that must have been packed with something like a 60 hour campaign, brilliant story, amazing gameplay and nostalgic soundtrack. Gameboy colour system really was a defining part of my childhood.
You so lucky to to be able to get your hands on them. I've to order them in from abroad. 6 golden coins and Kirby's Dreamland are definitely my favorite games . Great review again 👍
The Gameboy Color actually has about 100 or so default palettes buildt in for older Gameboy classic games! It uses the checksum of the game title to select the "right" one.
@@jeffersonbudiman5423 I live in europe, there is no stuff, I can either buy one online, or be really, REALLY lucky to find one, maybe like 50 miles away
I owned a miss sorely my game boy colour! I had the purple transparent one that you were holding. I never had any idea about changing the colour pallet MIND BLOWN!!!!
Player2Gaming I love all pokemon games but I'm partial to emerald version. But of the regular game boy games, gold and silver takes you back to Kanto at the end so yes I agree.
I was an NES kid and Pokemon was a little past my time, so I never really got into it back then. What's the best *standalone* Pokemon game to get into for any of the Game Boys up to GBA? I don't want a specific Pokemon element type or whatever where you have to get multiple cartridges for the full experience. Thanks!
My grandma bought me Super Mario Land thinking I owned a Gameboy. I didn’t, so when I opened it I got all excited thinking I was also getting a Gameboy that Christmas. I didn’t and ended up holding on to that Gameboy game a whole year before I did.
You know, I had an idea for a Game Boy Classic Edition, and I think this Gameboy Classic Edition should have these features: -Have the same saving features as the NES Classic Edition -Have a backlit screen while still having the games in black-&-white with green coloring that the console is known for -Have the model be shaped after the Gameboy Pocket with all different kinds of colors (or get a special original model Gameboy version which costs more, but is a great collectors item) -Have wireless connectivity to other Gameboys for multiplayer & digital TVs to play the games on it with added color like it's a Super Gameboy -Have a rechargeable battery that can charge through a USB cable and these would be the games: 1. Tetris 2. Dr. Mario 3. Super Mario Land 4. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins 5. Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 6. Pokemon Red/Blue (you will get one of these randomly) 7. Mario's Picross 8. Operation C 9. Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters 10. Final Fantasy Adventure 11. Megaman V 12. Wave Race 13. Alleyway 14. Balloon Kid 15. Donkey Kong 94' 16. Donkey Kong Land 17. Baseball 18. Golf 19. Tennis 20. Blades of Steel 21. International Superstar Soccer 22. F-1 Race 23. the Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening 24. Metroid II: the Return of Samus 25. Kid Dracula 26. Gargoyle's Quest 27. Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge 28. Final Fantasy Legend II 29. Kirby's Dream Land 30. Kirby's Dream Land 2 31. Pinball: Revenge of the Gator 32. Street Fighter II 33. Double Dragon II 34. Ninja Gaiden Shadow 35. Harvest Moon GB 36. Mole Mania 37. Gradius: Interstellar Assault 38. Pacman 39. Kirby's Pinball Land 40. Kirby's Block Ball do you think that would be good?
The green screen is because otherwise the reflectiveness would be even worse. The pixels underneath are actually blue; it was a very early graphical dot matrix LCD.
I've no idea why or how, but I have that Mario game (no box or manual, just the cartridge): Super Mario Land 2, 6 Golden Coins. It's currently sitting in a draw waiting for me to get a Gameboy to play it on. Totally going to get a Gameboy! Probably the colour one. Great video guide! :D
It’s nice to know people still play their old handhelds , my wife got me a switch for Xmas and I was playing on my gameboy colour and she just didn’t understand that people still love them
I absolutely recommend the games Kirby’s Dreamland one and two, Wario Land franchisee, all four Harry Potter games, GTA 2, Super Mario Land, and Donkey Kong Land 2. Now for the GBA it would be Legend Of Zelda A Link To The Past, Youshi’s Island, Super Mario Advanced 1-4, Madagascar Penguin Operation, Scooby-Doo2, Crash and Spyro Superpack, Donkey King Country 1-2, and Crash Bandacoot A Traced.
Also, Final Fantasy Adventure IS actually a Final Fantasy game. It's Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden. So that does technically make it a Final Fantasy spin-off, and it would make sense to call it 'Final Fantasy Adventure' in the West.
The green is from the polarizer film used to improve contrast. Tho aging screens, yellowing film, oxidized convectors and dying caps tend to make the contrast a lot worse than it was back in the day. The iffy ribbon cable for the vertical connection to the screen is what is creating the dead vertical bars in their DMG, an easy fix with a soldering iron. These 80's Gameboy's really need a full overhaul and a full recap to be played these days as they are living on borrowed time.
Same here. Before that I was a Game Gear kid. The GBC was a revolution for Game Boys. All those colors!!! I’d argue it is what brought most of us Game Gear kids over.
One game I'd definitely be down for getting the Zero Mission treatment would be Metroid II. Unfortunately, if that were to happen the guy over at AM2R would have no point in working on it if Nintendo hasn't shut him down by then.
+stmfx4 I love what they did with AM2R so far. Those Omega Metroids are scary. Nice little additions from the original game and spots that made you think. Such a great unfinished game.
I've recently begun playing GB/GBC via emulation and i'm loving it. There's so many great games from my childhood that i didn't play, and now i can, fantastic. Playing classics such as Mario Land 2 ,Zelda, Tetris, Mega Man is just brilliant, and playing lesser known gems like Mole Mania, Ninja Taro, Solar Striker and The Bouncing Ball is great as i am just discovering these great titles. Great video, enjoyed it so much 👍
Great overview, goes straight to the point, and you know what you're talking about! We could go on and on about game cartridges and accessories, but I believe you nailed the essential part. It probably has been said already but one of the feature I liked about the Game Boy link cable was that it was compatible with the DMG system and the Pocket/ Color/ GBA, which allowed the older system to battle or trade with the Pokémon games, for instance. I still have my Camera and Printer at home, and since it's heat-print, you don't need any ink. Perfect for long period of dormance XD. Keep up the good work!
The ir sensor on the game boy color was NOT a substitution for the game link cable. Just so ya know it was only for unlocking or receiving gifts/data in games. They got that detail wrong. One tidbit that impressed me you mentioned was space invaders playing the SNES version of the game if you put it in a super game boy. It's hilarious cuz it is LITERALLY the same as the SNES version. Even the sound!
I am probably not the first one to mention this, but those broken vertical lines in the LCD are (often) easy to fix. Open it up, take out pcb with lcd on it, gently peel off the rubber strip and power on the game boy. Turn contrast way up. Touch the heatresistant foil under lcd with a soldering iron. You'll see lines drop and return and after a while, all should stay on. I've done it several times, it either works or it doesn't, I have yet to make it worse.
There is also the Japan-exclusive Game Boy Light before the GBC. It was a front-lit Game Boy. I think it's really rare. Thank goodness for region-free. My parents bought me a Game Boy when we were moving to the US from Hong Kong and when we got here, I could continue buying games for it. I even had two separate versions of Tiny Toon Adventures: Babs' Big Break (one in Japanese and one in English).
Pokemon Yellow was the only one I catched all 150 Pokémon and traveled a day to go to the next pokemon fair to get Mew because back then nobody was sharing over UA-cam that you can use a glitch to get it. :]
I’m so excited to be getting back into Gameboy and GBC games after getting the ModRetro Chromatic! I never truly appreciated how many great games those consoles had!

The IR on GBC was for special features in games - some used it with TV remotes to get secrets, etc. Wasn't enough for 2 players. The GB Camera was actually a Gameboy Pocket accessory - came out before the GBC by a few months. The printer will still print if you load receipt tape in it.
Henners Good advice, especially the receipt paper. Thanks man!
People still think the original Pokémon games were gbc games. Just because something has a color cart doesn't mean it's for gbc.
First and only system I got as a kid was the og gameboy. I loved it. Best gift ever! Still have it 28 years later!
John, Reggie and Kelsey i want them all as real life friends...they seem so chill and always happy.
Older pokemon games don't work with GBC's IR, Gold/Silver do. Only a few games took advantage of the IR feature. With Mission: Impossible, you can program the GBC to learn your TV remote control's functions. There's a few videos on youtube that teaches you how to do this
the IR was only for they stern gift though right? You still needed the cable to trade and battle iirc
+Wade Schipprack
mystery gift*
I believe so
I know Pokemon red works with gameboy color, but the IR doesn't work with Red/Blue.
Infrared
I think the GBC analogy may be a tad off.
I'd say GBC is to GB as the DSi is to DS. Or New 3DS to 3DS. It's a slight upgrade, with exclusive (enhanced) titles that can't be played on the former, but the underlying system is largely unchanged.
+FierceDeityXeroX My thoughts exactly.
Nailed it!!
There is an album where the cover was printed off on a Gameboy Printer and taken with the Gameboy Camera.
Just another UA-cam channel That sounds awesome. Do you remember the artist?
Mario Morales No, but some Google-fu could probably find your answer.
Mario Morales It was neil something I think. possibly neil diamond?
The Gameboy Color was my first game console. I got the atomic purple one with a Nyko Worm Light and a copy of Spider-Man for Christmas, in 2000. I don't actually remember ever having any other games for it. It's now 20 years later and I'm playing Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge connected to a Super Gameboy, plugged into my Analogue Super NT and displaying in beautiful 1080p on my 40" TV. And I couldn't be more into it.
"Handy Boy by STD" That.. that is unfortunate.
+Mister Gacado I went to my doctor and he gave me a shot to clear it up. No big deal ;)
+MetalJesusRocks Noice
+MetalJesusRocks take some CBD oil, it'll keep it from coming back
My life is complete now that I know this information.
This is just sad T-T
Hahah John is very entertaining! Great watch!
P.S. The gameboy boot-up screen will forever be the utmost sweetest and utter euphoric sound to the ears :-)
+FlagshipFighter Agreed!
+FlagshipFighter that and the PS1 boot up screen.
+ninjanizzle I feel that way with the Sega CD boot screen, but PS1, for sure!
+John Riggs: RIGG'd Games Just saw the Sega CD boot screen, wow it is cool! Nothing says Sega more than blue skies and midi!
Love having John Riggs on your channel and very informative. I grew up with the OG Gameboy and just recently picked up the New 3DS. I must say, quite a lot has changed!! I'd love to see me more NES highlights from John again as well.
+David Roeseler Thanks man!
there's just something so soothing about binging on MetalJesus videos.
Thank You MetalJesus.
+Josh Rafail Thanks man! Always a pleasure to hang out in the Temple of Metal Jesus talking about my favorite subject.
I completely agree! John, you're the man!!
I agree. John is best. #JohnForPresident
I got my Game Boy Color in 1999 and the first game i had was Super Mario Deluxe for colour, and i was addicted o it, along side with Turok! (which was for Standard Game Boy too)
I really enjoyed that game so much!
Matthew Ford Same here! my very first game on my GBC was Mario Deluxe too...hoooooook (way before then)
Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is a great choice and a must buy for GBC
You guys forgot the worm lights for the gameboy color. :p
Martin Smith nah he’s getting mixed up with donkey Kong country on the gbc. Donkey Kong land is on the game boy
@@TransmitHim Donkey Kong Land 3 is the one that got a Game Boy Color palette but in Japan only if I'm not mistaken.
lemme clear it up if it was an super gameboy then it can be a color compatible cart
Donkey Kong Land also sucks hard unfortunately.
I recommend Wario Land. All of them.
Wario Land 1-3 are on the Gamboy and 4 is on GBA. All of them are GREAT games!
2 is my personal favourite
1 is the best. but i like all of em
always thought the wario and kirby games were perfect for the game boy
Final fantasy legend doesn't really play like tales? Tales is an action RPG
FF legends was to promote the SaGa franchise overseas
I know right I was about to say this Haha it's a Saga game not a Tales game :S
Fun fact for you: Neil Young actually made an album cover from a Game Boy Camera picture. Silver and Gold is the name of the album.
+ElectricOutcast I remember that! Great little fact ;)
18:07
Oh my god, i'm so having nostalgic feelings about that precious yellow-ish colour.
(btw i had Pokemon Gold)
Pokemon gold was the best game of all time!!
saw a guy at the DMV playing a gameboy pocket recently. pretty cool
The Gameboy Color actually has about 100 or so default palettes buildt in for older Gameboy classic games! It uses the checksum of the game title to select the "right" one.
You missed Game Boy Light, exclusive for Japan but easy to get. Love your channel
loving this iteration of the intro!
“You can get a classic game boy for like 10 bucks”
*checks amazon
Me: LIAR!
look around your area for retro game stores
to be honest, don't buy from amazon
@@jeffersonbudiman5423 I live in europe, there is no stuff, I can either buy one online, or be really, REALLY lucky to find one, maybe like 50 miles away
@@Misiopandos hmmm idk if garage sales are all to common in europe or flea markets, but sometimes thrift stores would have some great stuff as well
@@jeffersonbudiman5423 I haven't seen any kind of garage sale in years, and I haven't seen any thrift store around too
I didn't expect to see scissoring on youtube
+Mortal Porcupine Come to my videos for the games, stay for the sexiness.
+MetalJesusRocks Haha. Good stuff
Mortal Porcupine 😂😂😂😂😂 Hand on hand interaction 😂
MetalJesusRocks 😂😂😂😂😂😂🙄
When I saw the footage of the original Gameboy with the green screen... fucking loved it, so nostalgic..
I owned a miss sorely my game boy colour! I had the purple transparent one that you were holding. I never had any idea about changing the colour pallet MIND BLOWN!!!!
Look I get that everyone played the original Pokémon games as kids, but you gotta admit it; gold and silver were better.
Come to my channel
Yes and I have the gold version
I would put my 2 cents in but i havent comepleted Crystal yet. I fucks wit both of em heavy
Yikes
JOHN RIGGS WITH A HAND JIBBER REFERENCE. BEST VIDEO SO FAR.
+Paul Mauled It's all for you, buddy! (the video, not the other thing)
+John Riggs: RIGG'd Games HAHAHAHA XD
Your excitement is infectious! I scored a dmg gameboy at goodwill for $10 and I can’t wait for my screen replacement to deliver!
You know, I had an idea for a Game Boy Classic Edition, and I think this Gameboy Classic Edition should have these features:
-Have the same saving features as the NES Classic Edition
-Have a backlit screen while still having the games in black-&-white with green coloring that the console is known for
-Have the model be shaped after the Gameboy Pocket with all different kinds of colors (or get a special original model Gameboy version which costs more, but is a great collectors item)
-Have wireless connectivity to other Gameboys for multiplayer & digital TVs to play the games on it with added color like it's a Super Gameboy
-Have a rechargeable battery that can charge through a USB cable
and these would be the games:
1. Tetris
2. Dr. Mario
3. Super Mario Land
4. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
5. Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3
6. Pokemon Red/Blue (you will get one of these randomly)
7. Mario's Picross
8. Operation C
9. Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters
10. Final Fantasy Adventure
11. Megaman V
12. Wave Race
13. Alleyway
14. Balloon Kid
15. Donkey Kong 94'
16. Donkey Kong Land
17. Baseball
18. Golf
19. Tennis
20. Blades of Steel
21. International Superstar Soccer
22. F-1 Race
23. the Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
24. Metroid II: the Return of Samus
25. Kid Dracula
26. Gargoyle's Quest
27. Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge
28. Final Fantasy Legend II
29. Kirby's Dream Land
30. Kirby's Dream Land 2
31. Pinball: Revenge of the Gator
32. Street Fighter II
33. Double Dragon II
34. Ninja Gaiden Shadow
35. Harvest Moon GB
36. Mole Mania
37. Gradius: Interstellar Assault
38. Pacman
39. Kirby's Pinball Land
40. Kirby's Block Ball
do you think that would be good?
I love the game boy i remember playing In my youth in raíning days and waiting for my mom to go home and eat dinner togheter with our doggy sisi
And right up until now I never knew what DMG meant!
Take a shot every time he says "o yea huh" and "That's cool"
The green screen is because otherwise the reflectiveness would be even worse. The pixels underneath are actually blue; it was a very early graphical dot matrix LCD.
I've no idea why or how, but I have that Mario game (no box or manual, just the cartridge): Super Mario Land 2, 6 Golden Coins. It's currently sitting in a draw waiting for me to get a Gameboy to play it on. Totally going to get a Gameboy! Probably the colour one. Great video guide! :D
Downloaded a whole gb rom collection for my raspberry recalbox hehe. Now I know what to play. Thx
lol, the gamboy colored intro was a nice touch
3:29 don't forget, the batteries should always be at least 4 years expired.
LOL. MAR 2012 is what i saw also.
“Get yourself a handyboy” - John Riggs
That is hilarious
Final Fantasy Legend series is actually the SaGa series, not the Tales of Series. Tales of is Namco, not Square.
+hawk10101982 You're totally right. I meant to say SaGa, too, but had Tales on my mind and didn't notice until I saw this video -_-
No worries. Just caught me by surprise when you said that. Still a great series and a great recommendation (SaGa and Tales of)
Also, Final Fantasy Adventure IS actually a Final Fantasy game. It's Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden. So that does technically make it a Final Fantasy spin-off, and it would make sense to call it 'Final Fantasy Adventure' in the West.
Dude on the right looks like real life Hank Hill from King of the Hill
He looks more like a grown up Bobby
nalong55 more like fat dale without sunglasses
nalong55 I like this new generation of music.
ITS ALL TOILET SOUNDS

The green is from the polarizer film used to improve contrast. Tho aging screens, yellowing film, oxidized convectors and dying caps tend to make the contrast a lot worse than it was back in the day. The iffy ribbon cable for the vertical connection to the screen is what is creating the dead vertical bars in their DMG, an easy fix with a soldering iron. These 80's Gameboy's really need a full overhaul and a full recap to be played these days as they are living on borrowed time.
The GBC was my first Game Boy, and it's honestly a good first model to have.
Same here. Before that I was a Game Gear kid. The GBC was a revolution for Game Boys. All those colors!!! I’d argue it is what brought most of us Game Gear kids over.
Metroid II: The Return of Samus. Can't recommend that enough.
Ninja Gaiden Shadow. Much easier of the Ninja Gaiden games.
Also Castlevania Adventure, Operation C and Motocross Maniacs.
Such a great unfinished game.
a year later and your wishes have come true
Donkey Kong Land has a yellow cartridge but is not Game Boy Color optimized in any way...
@MetalJesusRocks I would like to see a Game Boy Hidden Gems video!! You're awesome.
i like how you didnt grow up with alot of this stuff & are far more interested in collecting games, consoles & info on it. kudos
Great video and gameboy info. Absolutely love how genuine the two of you go back and forth! Love Metal Jesus and John Riggs too!
No Wario Land 2?
The Handy Boy transforms your Gameboy in Optimus Prime.
Fun fact: There was a gameboy that a soldier brought with them that survived a bomb blast
and it stipp works, they have it plugged in the Nintendo head quarters in NYC
I was hoping to see some recommendations for GBC games to get. Most of the games shown were Game Boy
Lol my mom always said she remembers playing Tetris with her cousin and that’s all she played lmao
LINKS AWAKENING !!! man !!!! one of the best games ever made !!!!!
Truth
+Max Max Yup, still my favorite Zelda game.
until the battery assisted save dies
i was actually playing links aawakening while watching this
You can replace the battery. I hear it's not hard, especially with regular GB games.
Even the sound!
just picked up face ball 2000 cuz of this video from my local game store. Have an awesome day!
I can't believe I scrolled quite a lot and did not see Metal Gear Solid being mentioned once... it's hands down my favorite GBC game
If you pause at 0:13 it's the most awkward thing ever 🤣
metaljesus, you're a fucking legend and your content is godtier
"10-15 hours". "That's all day." Dang MJR, your playing gameboy all day?
I take my gbc to school every day, and im the coolest kid there.
Jackson Mcleod Your profile picture. Is ThAt a JOjo’S reFeReNcE
I’m so excited to be getting back into Gameboy and GBC games after getting the ModRetro Chromatic! I never truly appreciated how many great games those consoles had!
