To me, an mmo doesn't exist until I either play it myself or see others play it in real time. Technology is advancing so fast its easy to make something look real enough for just long enough to make a profit. Not saying this game but the concept is a viable tactic used time and time again. So I'll wait for beta
Releasing on Steam makes a lot of the red flags irrelevant when you can just get an auto refund within two hours and in really bad cases (The Day Before) everyone gets refunded anyway. With that said, having their biggest selling point be that the map is the largest of any MMO isn't really enticing on its own. It's not about the size, it's how you use it.
It is 100% a scam. I mean come on....A developer formed 2 years ago, making an MMO that is supposed to be bigger than anything we've seen so far, who have released ONE trailer and it's supposed to release this month? Have you guys ever heard of the Day Before?
They had a closed alpha test i played it combat was bad(but they did say combat was not the focus that time the world looked good crafting took too much time and resources will take ages to gather) but it was a good game
Except they did an mmo in less than two years. That was somewhat released and then disbanded in that same time. Its not like that 2 years was completely waste. Also at this point its not like you need to invent the wheel again. You can check other mmos and take different weapons etc etc from those. Also as you didn't watch the video... its a closed beta in a month. Which might take the better part of 2024 and then open beta and only then release. I mean you can be sceptical, but to call a game a scam that isn't even yet asking for a money is bit much. Unlike Ashes of creation that has been crowd funded for multiple times and even now 'offer' 75$ pre-orders for access to Beta Two and "2 months of game time ($30 Value)". Of course you can pay double of that and get 4 months of game time and access to Beta One and two... Oh and the most expensive option also for a low price of 375$. That in addition of the two beta stages gives you access to alpha two phase as well! Which was now announced for Q3 of 2024. While game already has been in development from 2016. So its probably earliest late 2025 that game will come out and with a monthly subscription of 15$. At least if I had been supporting that game at some point in that development I would feel a bit scammed. So Ashes is still a lot more of a scam even right now than this Quinfall. You could also reflect to Pax Dei that just happens to been in development from 2019 as well. I don't think there is too much of difference between the two games in relation to their development stage. And not properly heard of day before, but most of the videos of it already seem a bit like scam and no real gameplay available so...
Could have had the same suspicions of Pearl Abyss when Black Desert was shown off in its early development... even more so since they didn't have a former completed game. Unfortunately The Day Before scam has now made it even harder to break through as a new game developer studio.
Good on you for trusting your gut feeling when it came to the phone number Jay.... too many people would have ignored that off feeling & handed over their personal details without giving it a second thought. It should make _any_ of us feel uncomfortable being asked for that kind of info in an open web form, because even if the devs have no ill intentions it's not a good indication of their approach to cybersecurity. Everyone should stop & think before handing over personal info to _any_ site or app, regardless of how innocuous that request might seem. And it's great that you talked about it in the video too, because the only way we all to develop our gut instincts for security in general is by sharing knowledge. 👍
Just to say I made mine before I knew about Force Gaming's video and released mine just before. Just a coincidence but I saw him mention the middle earth thing on twitter. Also there was an old video I hadn't seen showing the asset flips - ua-cam.com/video/BI9RgbtzFUI/v-deo.html
I've heard that they're using a combination of recycled code and AI. So getting an entire MMO done in 2 or 3 years actually would be somewhat credible.
in my opinion, they just dont have had enough time of development to make a mmorpg with all this features and such a large world. Its just not possable, not even close.
I haven't seen or heard much of anything about the game other than its name. I hate that games announce so early that there will still be years before players get a chance to try it in any reasonable state. Time will tell I guess, but until then its not even on my radar.
It's easy to spot the scams, don't pre-order anything and wait for the real release! Pre-order and early-access is what you need to avoid, but people want to play the game now, and buy them instantly.
the animations look incredible in this game. Only thing that seems a bit weird, is it seems like when the character is engaged in combat with the monster, it doesn't seem like they're hitting the monster for some reason. when the bow user shot the monster, it didn't look impactful to the monster or like it even really hit it, it almost looked like the arrow just disappeared on hit without actually impacting it. same with melee idk. looks cool though other than that
First thing pvp NEVER works it just doesn't because you need to have several systems in place to stop things like spamming and cheating and well simply ruining other players time in game is NOT going to win your game any awards. IMO the best template right now is Ark/Atlas you have land and sea content some depth especially with pets and breeding and ships etc etc. We just need a better studio behind the game that tries to mimic or surpass Ark/Atlas because that studio was one of the worst I have ever encountered in 35 years of gaming. Simply creating a large land mass and repeating the same old reskinned is not good enough. I have very distinct ideas I need to see in a game before I jump in and invest time in to any new game so UA-camrs and any other marketing ploy won't work I can see right away if a game offers what I am looking for.
Lmao, yeah no, all things that were promised screams a scam, 0 doubt. You don’t promise all those ridiculous things if you are familiar with mmo development. The ‘they ain’t asking for money’ ignores the fact they are getting investment money and continue to do so by promising ridiculous bs like every typical tech company scam
Has it ever worked with pvp pve servers and u cam move inbetween with no problem... The pvp servers will then ONLY be a gank fest and everybody have their bases on pve-- leads to dead pvp servers.
Don't see anything wrong in Quinfall based on this video. Sure it might not yet be real since no independent gameplay available, but then again its still in closed testing phase. More importantly they are not trying to sell it right now. That would be a problem if they really would be pushing people to buy or even just marketing it aggressively with all the fancy promises. Like I appreciate that Pax Dei openly started discussing monetization, but as long as a game is not asking for money before launch. I don't have any reason to doubt. Since then, I and all the trigger happy MMO buyers, can make up their mind. When the game is truly available and can be seen what its truly like. So the trigger happy people wont get the chance to support potential scam and then cry about it. Sure at launch the future monetization should be revealed as well. So it wont be buy game, play few months and then monthly subscription appears. I am not sure if there even will be any big MMO in the near future. There is a market for MMOs, but there is also a lot of options to choose from. That said I can see Quinfall gaining a healthy player base and be a great MMO for some. Basically you can't just please all and for example New World being a bit of mess not knowing what it is. Planned to be pvp, but then not, but still yes and what not xD Has lead people getting it, but then quitting it. Which is fine, but I rather see games do that one thing right. Instead of trying to please all. Gather the "right" people with that one thing and continue from that and add a second thing done right. Which might bring new "right" people into the game. Like New World could have and still could for example embrace the pvp aspects. Make a new OPR map, make a new game mode for pvp, make different sizes of pvp battles etc. Gosh make 10 new pvp maps with their own different features and interactable terrain, like blocking a pathway? Since the action combat is pretty good they could attract people to do that and only that. NW could have thousands of pvp players (specially now that finally has crossworld) that basically don't leave the towns and just join instances for pvp, because its fun and every game is different. That would be doing one thing right and having actual lasting big reasons for people to join and keep playing.
Like all games these days, wait for the pre-order idiots to buy it first and then make your decision a week after release or when people get to end game. It looks nice but a lot of it looks like videos and not actual game play, which is worrying if you’re interested in it because The Day Before did the same thing… and look where they went. 😂
100% BS. Scam or whatever you wanna call it. Total waste of time. Even that video is fake. A literal noname company, with absolute 0 experience, without an actual publisher. etc etc.. Total bs. There are no "if"s. + the recommended system for THAT visual would be a many years old low end pc.. Seriously..
Hmmm... it's suppose to be a medieval setting but there are trains and mechs. So i guess maybe Steampunk setting? The game had so many features just looking at the trailer. I wonder if they cant achieve what they said. We'll have to wait and see how things go.

Not offensive, there is nothing concrete. I am not sure if you think it is a scam or not? I tried to find anything I could find that suggests it's a scam but there just isn't much, but you look at most big youtuber reactions, they all think it is a scam but nothing concrete for sure
To me, an mmo doesn't exist until I either play it myself or see others play it in real time. Technology is advancing so fast its easy to make something look real enough for just long enough to make a profit. Not saying this game but the concept is a viable tactic used time and time again. Its a scam. Bought assets, no originality, copy paste. No way you want to spin it same old rhetoric being used to hype a scam.
Releasing on Steam makes a lot of the red flags irrelevant when you can just get an auto refund within two hours and in really bad cases (The Day Before) everyone gets refunded anyway. you never see more than one player !? that is a red flag for me when showing of a mmo ;-)

sounds too good to be true. ive been burned several times and this one is giving the same feeling.
Yes, that is the "a bit off" feeling for me -- too good to be true.
You were right. Stay sober.

Was same thing in Crowfall, also on unity. Maybe impact combat is too much development :)
everything in the trailer is from preused assets so its not impactfull since it wasn't made to go together.
I've been burned too many times, but I'll always hope for a better outcome.
It is an asset flip. It might end up being a good game, but the bar is very very very low for January 30th.
It's funny how on the Vawraek about us page, their office image is a stock photo lol
30 Jan is the release date for the closed-beta...that's what someone says on the forum...and given the development time that may be true. Let's wait.
But in all honesty, I think we should wait for more definitive information to come out before we pass judgment.
just put the phone number for your local job centre down works everytime
Lets wait and see. If it's beta, then fine. I wont be judgmental too much. But if it's a RELEASE, then I will go ham on them if its bad. That is all.
First thing pvp NEVER works it just doesn't because you need to have several systems in place to stop things like spamming and cheating and well simply ruining other players time in game is NOT going to win your game any awards.

You said it'll be 216 square KM, I'm sure it's 2016 square KM. Making it the biggest MMO in history.
Just put in a fake phone number or give them the number of a local business or a person you don't like.
Looking at the games screenshots the game looks EXTREMELY empty. Just look at the screenshots for yourself. Literally trees or open desert

The trailer released a while ago made me laugh so hard. Obviously a scam.
Ahh it is not releasing in Jan.! It is its beta?! This was my biggest red flag that it was a full release after only 3 years of development!
yeah I think a lot of people were tricked into thinking this by mistake and it seemed unreal because of it
@@jayoddity Also! Force Gaming says it as well that it seems like a red flag! He is also thinking it is releasing now!
Missed a 0, you mentioned 216km2, it's actually 2016km2...
I´ll believe it when I see it, until then it´s another Ashes of Creation.
Has it ever worked with pvp pve servers and u cam move inbetween with no problem... The pvp servers will then ONLY be a gank fest and everybody have their bases on pve-- leads to dead pvp servers.

Its a futur game breaking bug fuckfest imo but dont think a SCAM
I guess we will see when we see.

World of warcraft is a scam and ruined the genre and everyone still plays that so..
heh not really but okay
