Saber, you're close to when Don Bluth gain notoriety. His first movies came out in the 80s, not 70s (he was still with Disney in the 70s). I actually wasn't a huge fan of Land Before Time because this was the movie that scarred my childhood. I remember seeing it on the big screen and the death of Littlefoot's mom, that killed me (I was 6). I had much preferred Oliver and Company that came out earlier that year. Even if this movie has sort of a meh story, it interested me into knowing more about the russian revolution (the only things I knew about it before were this movie and Animal Farm, czar/king -> communism but not how that transition ocurred). If anyone is as lost as I was and is interested in the topic, I recommend the two parter youtube video The Russian Revolution by Oversimplified, I think it makes a good breakdown of the topic. Kudos!
Given on how bad the compression from the true story to the animation, I still like this over most Disney princesses movies. It has very good lighting and not too cute. True aimed for kids, but doesn't hold back on being dark and edgy like the 'Black Cauldron.'
Gotta give a shout to the Broadway musical adaptation which refined the story greatly--never realized as a kid just how jarring Rasputin and the fantastical elements felt until I saw a version that cut him entirely, as fun as he is
That's the first time I've seen him sit there and just talk about the communist uprising every 5 seconds and then play around with the characters .. how is drunk you?

It’s sad that you don’t see this type of animation much anymore. At least, not on the same scale. Quality? That’s the debatable. But, that makes me all the more greatful, that indie animation is filling that void. Hullabaloo, for instance, has a Disney-esche style to it. I recommend Saberspark, and others, check it out. Episode 1 released months ago.

Absolutely gorgeous memory Saber!
I loved this movie when it came out, I actually prefer it to some of the Disney Renaissance movies (that's my hot take). I was in HS when the movie came out. It does have one of my favorite movie soundtracks too and my favorite song is Once Upon a December. Fun fact- at the time this movie was released, it still wasn't a known fact yet if Anastasia was dead yet (it was later confirmed she did die that night).
@31:29 The art style here does remind me by Degas who IS a French Painter from the Impressionism movement.
16:30 you know picking Dimitri its what the girls think its a straight up pretty boy and then his weird facial was very funny. 😂
Dude why do you mess up the facial animation?
What I will say about the Bluth faces (cheeks and whatever) is this: it *does* make the faces look more real imo
Yes and no, Anastasia Is technically a Disney princess. However, she isn't marketed like Belle, Tiana, Cinderella etc. Sooo sadly she falls into the Grey area, but hey each to their own ^^
Even with its flaws, I love this film!
You guys should watch bartok all the way through next time XD
I watched this movie not too long ago and holy shit did it blow me away!
I love this movie so much.
The sing you’re humming to is journey to the past. Also the songs found wonderful in their native Russian language as well, Paris is not translated to Russian though but for the other songs it fits.
Thanks Saberspark for uploading this full movie and it’s more fun with your animated characters reaction. I hope the license accepts it. I think I saw the original video the one who holds it by Magic DreamClub.
Don Bluth was never afraid to go dark and edgy mind you. He made All Dogs go to Heaven, and before he left Disney, he worked on Sleeping Beauty
Gotta give a shout to the Broadway musical adaptation which refined the story greatly--never realized as a kid just how jarring Rasputin and the fantastical elements felt until I saw a version that cut him entirely, as fun as he is
As a kid, this movie was my ab-so-lute favorite movie (2nd only to Treasure Planet).
That's the first time I've seen him sit there and just talk about the communist uprising every 5 seconds and then play around with the characters
.. how is drunk you?
Saber complaining about how the movie is about a real person and whether its ok or not
Meanwhile at Disney
Oh lord do NOT look up the real history of Pocahontas oh jesus its depressing
This film actually started as a remake of the 1956 live-action version.
Also I have you consider watching Swan Princess.
Guys.. it’s confirmed he’s not a furry. (I looked it up because of comments hating on them both)
He isn’t a furry.. I think she may be though? Idk how to spell her name. But now you know..
Hope to see the full Let's Watch of this someday
Don Bluth, The True Dark Horse of Animation
Holy scoots im here in the first hour
16:53 he reminds me of the grunt from amnesia the dark descent with that mouth 😭
Must always give you likes, because you deserve them.
Take care, and all the best.
“Wanna see anotherone”*smiles*
*sonichu*
*crickets chirping*
I’m so sad Don Bluth just came to Dallas not too long ago but I couldn’t go to see him
If you hear the rasputin song, in two parts you can hear something that sounds a bit like gunshot sounds.
balto came out in 1995 how brave
One of my favorite movie
Despite how bad this movie is, that villain song is amazing, and lives rent free in my brain at all times.
When I first saw Anastasia, I loved the music, the story was good, but the moment I saw Vladimir my first thought was "What is Fievel's father doing being human?" Seriously, look at them side to side, and all you need is for Vlad's ears to grow and there you have Papa Mousekawatzit!
28:39 There's CHANEL in it. We have the French ad in this movie and I wanted to have a Paris Baguette.
One of my favs❤❤

18:00 - Hey, it's Coco Kiryu!
Anastasia another of my sister's favorite movies excellent choice bruh.
38:48 looks like a burning skull part from Dragon's Lair. Like he lose for his wasted round.
She’s a Disney Princess now, and the character on my profile picture!
Cool fact: Irl Rasputin was assasinated by a bisexual cross-dressing prince Yusupov
36:11 What, exactly, is she the princess of? They're in Paris, Frace, yes? The Russian empire fell, yes? Does she have any royal power in Frace?
Omg I LOVE Anastasia!!
Oh and never forget
*R.I.P AALIYAH*
Rasputin; history's only famous drug-dealing sex wizard
I just started watching the video and u guys r talking about the accuracy and I’d like to point out Pocahontas was a real person she was like 12 not 18/19 and John smith was in his 40s not 20s he also adopted her, took her from her home and then married her after she became a women. Anastasia was my favorite movie growing up tho 👌🏼
Despite alot of his fims were misses than hits. I'll enjoy them all till the day I die because at least they arn't *remakes*.
