Thanks for the review. I've been experimenting with sous vide for the past couple of months. I use my charcoal chimney to sear my steaks and pork chops. I'll need to try this out, as it looks to be ultra convenient.
Ry, for an even cheaper alternative, Harbor Freight has a flame thrower for around $40. It's larger and hooks up to a standard propane tank. When turned up on full, the flames are really impressive and the neighbors come running because it sounds like a jet taking off. Every man should have a flame thrower. LOL
Good video. I have one of these and a big green egg. I found that I have to tilt at too steep of an angle to light the BGE and I end up with liquid propane shooting out. However, its great for searing things like steaks after cooking them in sous-vide. I broke down and bought the grill blazer to light the BGE. Its a bit steep in price but the grill blazer has better safety features.
Maybe I'm cheap, but I just tear off the bag. I rip whatever excess paper at the top of the charcoal bag, and use that to start my coals. Just ball it up, put it under my chimney, and light it. Then go prep my meat and by the time I'm done trimming and seasoning, those coals are ready to go. Can't see myself spending $60 on something to start a fire.... That's just me.... Love your vids though man. Been watching for years. For some reason, my UA-cam decided to stop following you. Idk... Thought you were taking a break or something...
Hey Ry- does this tool make a lot of sparks? I typically pull my PK out from under my patio to get a chimney going, just so heat and sparks aren’t under my patio.
Ry, just ordered mine based on your review. Looking forward to searing sous vide steaks, lighting charcoal in my Weber, kindling in my Solo Bonfire and of course, being fully prepared for the Zombie apocalypse. Thanks friend, well done!
I'm conflicted: This looks like fun but you had an older video about starting charcoal with a torch with a much smaller flame (like the JJ George?) that's half the cost and seems to do the same thing. I trust you, so please elucidate.
FlameKing and one other one pound cylinder is available that has thicker steel and bleed valves to get the cylinder at 80% full and 20% air space for expansion of the gas. I use both and it is much quicker and safer than the thin walked disposable ones which are not designed to be stretched and contracted multiple times as happens during refills. I’ve done both and survived but think the refillable ones are much better quality for its intended purpose. Especially the bleed valve function.
Just got mine for $68 last night and tried it today. Lights and blazes. Can't wait to use it.
Thanks!
Perfect timing. I've been wanting a product like this for some time, and now I have on on the way!
Just purchased one based on your video. Thanks for the review.

I also have the larger version for burning out weeds. And yes, the neighbors what to know what I’m launching.
I like that it stands on its own. I have the Su-V Gun and it's great, but you need to use the included stand to keep it upright.
I used the Su-V also. Works really well. But you’re right about the stand.
Great timing Ry. I have been wanting one of these for my offset. Thanks for sharing and the great review.
I think I'd prefer an on/off trigger for safety. What if you tripped while the flame was on?

Fantastic review Ry. We will be doing something similar soon in a video. Great gift for the holiday.
Great review Ry! I’ve been looking for one of these. Thanks for doing my homework!
Great review. It's nice that it stands on its own👍 Flame throwers are not only handy, they are just plain fun to use too😊
It falls over frontways when the fuel gets lower.
I 3d printed a base for it which works perfectly.
i have one too, worth every penny, use it mostly for starting fires in my firepit
I’ve been thinking about buying a torch, and I think you just sold me on this one. Thanks, Ry!
Ry, that last statement you made; "It's kinda fun to have a flame thrower" pretty much sums up the video for myself and most other men.🤣
Absolutely necessary equipment for the zombie apocalypse.
Good review Ry. Simplicity at its best.
I love simplicity :)
@@CookingWithRy Me too Ry!
Could you do a demonstration video of you using this bad boy to sear different kinds of meat?
RY, you got so many cool toys!
Pretty nifty torch. Cheers, Ry! ✌️
Great review Ry. Looks like it works good !
Thanks 👍
Great review. I have to have one of these!
This is the exactly Ry nice choice by using Seal Pro 🎉
Makes sense to me. Good review
If it had a trigger then I probably would buy it. Although, I feel like $50 is a fair price, considering all of the ones on Amazon for that price.
Plus it’s the perfect weapon to use if you get attacked by a marshmallow monster.
Nice, a new toy
When lighting a chimney full of charcoal, do you light from the bottom or top?
I got mine ,feel like a man now 😂, the Pchhh surprised me when I removed the bottle at first, any trick on that ?
What grill gloves are those? I've been looking to get something more reliable.
I have them listed in my Amazon store linked in the video. There are several manufacturers that make very similar gloves :)
I still use my trusty trigger start brazing torch.

The tool itself just created an intense flame. The material being lit can throw off sparks.

I never thought of Zombies!
@@CookingWithRy Oh yes, and if you wear earbuds with that awesome background music in your video, it will lower your stress level while melting them!
@@THerd-um5tl LOL
I love my searpro.
hey Ry, what is that charcoal grate you're using? doesn't look like what came with my weber kettle lol
That’s part of the Malory Firewall. There’s a link in the video description.

I was thinking the same, I think RY was using the Bernzomatic torch. Would be nice to hear RY’s thoughts on comparison
Now is the time to learn the manly art of refilling the gas canisters at home to save some$$. Looks like a good tool.

Pretty cool! My pet dragon works better, but he's getting older now, and I like to let him rest from time to time.
"Kinda fun having a flame thrower"
A hundred bucks, crazy. Matches are cheaper. Try rubbing two sticks together.
You need matches? Or sticks? Try pyrokinesis.
$99…. Damn🤯
🥰
Thumbs up
