At first I said “No Way” but then I saw you use this tool tip on the orange plastic bucket. It was at that point I said “Yes way”! Thanks for this tool tip for free, it’s gonna save me a ton of money replacing plastic.
Plastic gives people cancer just like rain gets you wet. I'm retired from the chemical manufacturing plant called Formosa Plastics. It gives everybody cancer, the workers, the community and all the users that use it. It even gives it to Aquatic animals that has never known to have cancer before plastic was introduced. Is it ironic or is it a controlled destruction to the human population?
Yes you can also do this on the black plastic trim on ur car to bring it back to life as well as clearing up headlights, although I'd suggest you use a heat gun on low vs a torch just for better temp control. It's a learned skill so I suggest practice on patio furniture 1st.
Today's Tool Tip Tuesday is real nasss like yes indeed🙌🏽 and I've never seen that before but I like it I like it a lot. Smeeesh that like button. 👀👉🏽 👍🏽
This is the first that I've seen this trick. However, I'm not sure where or when I'll use the trick but it's good to know and an entertaining video. This was REAAAAAL NASS LIKE.
I will from now on use this tip. Thank you, and I love your delivery of it. Informative comical. Great performance, with a priceless tip trick to expand my skill set, with an effortless approach. Thanks again for sharing. Now, I have a tool tip, to share back. Listen up, you probably know of a similar tip, so more the reason for you to share it with your subscribers. We waste alot of money on blades when they just need a cleaning. Different wood pieces like finished or reclaimed wood or new has adhesives in it that gunck up our blades like our circular saw blades. So, take the blade, soak it in 409 solution for like 10-15 minutes, wipe clean. Now, you can share this with the world, thanks for your tip. Bruce from Abilene, tx
I am a new subscriber to your channel I usually ask my childhood best friend and is like a little brother me any questions about tips and tricks and well he recently passed he got hit by a car and it's shockingly you look a lot like him and that's what drew me to your channel to subscribe and you're very wise man and awesome thank you
Videos hot stuff! It really renewed my love for plastic stuff. It brightened my Tuesday I’ve also seen it done with the black plastic on the bumpers of cars
I don't want to miss any "Tool Tip Tuesdays," but yesterday I had to (ran mom to one day surgery, all's good). It's not just this tip that makes us "best" friends.
Instead of sanding you could of easily power washed that chair then set the torch to it. I power wash mine every spring, I never thought to put the torch to eat. Great idea, Im sure the torch kills off any residual mold and also helps to reseal the plastic. Brilliant idea
You're barely melting the surface, which is kinda porous so it melts really easy, when it melts it wicks in and fills the pores, stadiums hire people with BBQ propane tanks and weed burners to rejuvenate their sun damaged chairs. Keep in mind the flame profile plays a role, if you're using a swirl tip instead of a webbed tip you might want to practice since some torches are more aggressive than others
It also works great on plexi glass, thick clear acrylic, thin acrylic, crazed fish tanks all sorts of stuff been doing this for 20 years I find it very useful
Thanks for the tool tip. I just got a new torch for a burned wood frame project, and was just curious what other ways I can use the torch and found this video. So thanks again. 👍🏻
Nice tip. I've used this on car plastic before and it works great for that black plastic trim. Nice video and I really liked the intro for tool tip Tuesday 😀. 👍
Thanks Gurwinder, and yep.... can absolutely use this on car plastics. For some reason, everyone thinks it's just for chairs because I used a chair for demonstration 🤣
I got one. Fuel weed eater, 2p double side tape, 2p 1.25” gray foam- the kind that goes around window a/c units. Wrap tape around 180 one of foam and jam it in where the battery is closest to frame. Then do same underneath first one. It acts like suspension for battery and really takes a lot of vibration out. I’d say 60% less
You had me at the intro, then I find out I can make the wife happy fixing the raggedly plastic chairs with my old heat gun... We are best friends now lol 🤣
Thats a great tip saves money on buying new when your old are getting faded and used looking thanks for another great and very useful tip like you are always giving us all
I have used that trick and technique on vehicles for plastic bumpers you can use this trick without the sanding on bumpers and more it brings the lustrous shine back to faded plastic real fast great tips clint @ToolReviewZone
Great tip! I did my kids Plastic playground slide last year! On video, its hard to give it real justice, so shiny and smooth, truly awesome Like your UA-cam channel!
Seems as if Clint left a skid mark on the chair Makes sense after thinking about the process. Sanding takes off grime, and scuffs some of the colored plastic that ends up remelting.
Wait for the follow up video. This is a 2 part series. The second video is going to be on how evenly this torch cooks his meth. And thanks to the evenly cooked meth, he now has the ability of a ninja and can easily sneak in and out of anybody's room in the middle of the night. What a torch!
That is so cool. Thanks for this one. Now I know there are those out there who have seen similar on auto plastic trim using a heat gun but this only adds to the versatility of different tools. Now the tip I really enjoyed from you wasn’t even a tip as it was when you built your Milwaukee rack using the osb. Until then I never considered using or knew how to apply the strips to the unfinished edges. So thank you for that as well! Stay safe all
I live in Arizona, plastic chairs don't last long enough to get funky. A few weeks and they warp, bend, melt or just break. Good luck to everyone else though!
Yo! Mah knew bess frennnn! I've scrapped up some plastikz before and I always wondered if there was a way to heal the many wounds I've inflicted but I never thought of taking the heat gun to to them! I have dings & dangs on my cordless tools that I'll sometimes take a little sand paper to smoothen them out but it leaves that whitish sanded look on the spots. I'm going to be trying the heatgun tonight (carefully) on those spots and see if I can bring the sexy back. If that works...I have an old shopvac that could really use an overall de-funking. This really was awesome trick bro 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Now I'm going to be looking for everything I can try it on lol
As soon as you showed the chair I knew where you were going. You do the same thing with any material that will melt, you just have to get the temperature and the time over target correct. It is cool though
You can also blow-torch polish the edges of acrylic panels after cutting/sanding them.
The nervous nellie in me wants to see the msds for polypropylene, but the betty in me is already running to walmart to buy some on-demand fire.
Hahaha
I will now have the prettiest Home Depot buckets on the lane thanks to that real nass like tool tip video 🤓
Hahahahaha 🤣🤣👊

Hahaha, and it was 4 freeeeeeeeeee yeahhhhh!
Yeah, because lord knows, you want to keep your WORK buckets looking like new!!! sheesh.

There’s no way you’re that excited about this stupid ass video. 4 and a half minutes of my life that I can’t get back
Yes you can also do this on the black plastic trim on ur car to bring it back to life as well as clearing up headlights, although I'd suggest you use a heat gun on low vs a torch just for better temp control. It's a learned skill so I suggest practice on patio furniture 1st.
Absolutely James!👊👊👊
Good tip
It comes back worse than before. Very temporary fix
Hold on there. Now you’re telling me that there’s a giant ball of fire in the sky. Who else knows about this. Does Vincenzo know?
I told his yesterday, but he still doesn't believe me Renato
WHAT BALL OF FIRE? HAHAHAHA
Great tip and trick Broski @ToolReviewZone

Thanks Ron. A lot if different things you could use thus for. The chair was just an example
Very cool video. Hope all is going better with your kitchen.
It's slowly but surely coming together brother. I'll postcan update soon 👊
How does it work on trying to melt the crack on the back of the seat and re-solidify it ????
Na bro, just makes it bigger
WOW! Mind blowing! 🤯 I’m gonna have to try it. I was about to throw away some old faded plastic chairs! That’s REAL NASS LIKE! Thanks Clint!
Haha, thanks A C👊
This also works on black plastic trim and bumpers on cars that turned gray. No sanding, torch only. It'll make em look new again!
Damn right Rocket 👊
No way!!!!!
It works with car plastics as well and if you like a heat gun will work as well.
Oh Clint... You just added another project on my list!
Now I have to find an old chair in the garbage to try this out 😂
👍👍👍
Hahaha, sorry Peter. It will work on any heavier gage plastic though.

Does this work on polycarbonate plastic like safety glasses?
In body shops, that's exactly how we take discolored plastics on your cars ,to look new again. Been doing it for over 35 yrs 😂
Love that intro - Totally reminds of when South Park makes fun of American commercials :D
This was....very good
Holy crap! That IS real nass like! 😲 Thanks, Clint, you freaking rock! 😎🎸👍

There were some scratches and dents I wanted to get out. The chair was just used as a visual, but for other applications that would work 👊

Amazing. 🤓👍 Wish I had known this earlier rather than trying to power wash and scrub them like crazy back in the day.
It also works great on plexi glass, thick clear acrylic, thin acrylic, crazed fish tanks all sorts of stuff been doing this for 20 years I find it very useful

Wonder if that works on dull plastic fenders and wheel wells?
You can do this on black plastic bumpers on cars to make them look new again too. It brings the oils in the plastic out to make them black again
Hell yeah 👊
This works for trim on plastic trim on vehicles like the top of truck beds
It also works on plastic bumpers trim etc 😉
Genius.
todays tools are awesome. 20years ago....throw the plastic away...today we can weld it, glue it, melt it, and repair it. We're incredible.
