Now those are gorgeous. I have a kitchen table and 4 chairs. I love my Duncan Phyfe. I have never seen such lovely Captains chairs. You did a great job on them. 😊
Really great tutorial!! I always wondered if captains chairs could be converted!! I love your color work too!! Question...is there a reason you didn't use hide glue when reassembling? Does it not work with the epoxy in the joints or is it unstable in the Vegas heat? Just curious.
Yes, I would normally have used hide glue. I should've mentioned it, but because there was so much rot and not much strength in the joints that I put back together. I wanted them to be really tight so I use the white glue, but normally for joints I would use a hide glue and for breaks i would use white glue and or epoxy.
