trainmanbob When Lakeside is complete Bob then I would have already set up another project for me to do but it won’t be model railway related, Lakeside will just be a plaything with minimal alterations from then on. Cheers for now buddy. ............Graham
Great video graham, these are the types of videos which really help people, I personally don't own one of these but someone, somewhere will certainly benefit from this.
Ewood Railway Well I thought I would do this video (even though it is to a very limited audience) because I could find nothing on YT relating to this but I knew that there would be a few folk that would find it of use and interest. 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now buddy. ..........Graham
David's Trains Hi David and thanks, they are a great looking loco in my opinion and will fit nicely with my other Freightliner stock. Cheers for now. ..........Graham
Useful video - good luck with the servo for the pantograph. I’ve got a couple of the Bachmann Class 90s (IC and RFD) and they’re lovely models but not taken them apart yet - good idea about fitting a driver! I hope Bachmann release some other Class 90 liveries at some stage. Regards, Mark
Davidson Parkway Hi Mark and thanks you. It just didn’t look right without a driver when on the track so I had to put one in! I guess it’s possible that Bachmann will do other liveries later on but who knows - time will tell ! Cheers for now mate. .............Graham
Scott Malcolm Hi Scott, I think the only reason I can think of why Bachmann didn’t include this in their instructions was that they didn’t want to encourage folk to take the whole body off - just the top plate for fitting the decoder. Just a guess though. But at least this now shows how to do it should you need to do it for whatever reason like fitting a driver. 👍🏻👍🏻 Cheers for now mate. ............ Graham
Great video to watch Graham , I still wouldn't like to take a new loco apart like you . It would have to be out of warranty , amazing finding that small part missing .......Peter
Peter Shaw - Chapel End Junction . Hi Peter, to be honest I find it interesting to take anything apart and putting it back together again, as long as you are careful in taking it apart and take photos should you need to as you progress then there shouldn’t really be a problem. Having contacted Bachmann then they have confirmed that even though I had taken it apart they would still honour the warranty - they actually laughed out loud when I said that Rails of Sheffield would not honour the warranty and said that there’s change there then! 😂😂. Just goes to show doesn’t it! Cheers for now buddy. ...........Graham
@@GrahamFoulston I don't think Rails are doing themselves any favours these days , there are a lot of competent model railway people like yourself who can repair manufacturers faults without sending the item back . Cheers.......Peter
Thanks for posting this up, i agree they do look naked without the driver present, so this is my next job to do, great video and you have a new subscriber, all the best...
Hi Graham it's James Hoyland, I've also got a Bachmann class 90 in Intercity Swallow livery, name plate financial Times and my dad put a legoman Biffo sound decoder in and the sounds went really quiet. I can only just hear it plus it might need a new replacement speaker fitted so I can hear the sounds again.
James Hoyland Hi James, that’s strange about just hearing the sound as it’s so quiet, I guess the speaker is the first place to look but it is a tiny speaker, I’m replacing mine, in fact I have already done it with a slightly larger, better quality speaker. Cheers for now. ..........Graham
Hi Graham, a great video for those with a Class 90, they aren't for my layout even if they do look stunning. The perils of body removal, omg why do they always make it so tricky................So you showed your missing tiny gear wheel using the pointy thing, lol that was funny, I sat there going "is this were we shout, It's behind you!". Oh also you said you had a Leggoman sound chip, but where did you had the speaker, as I don't recall seeing it..............just curious! Anyway hope your keeping well, best regards Dave.
stretchedits Hi Dave, the speaker is unusually pre installed in the model near one of the cabs but typically I am removing that and replacing it with a larger, better quality speaker, the original is tiny and it sounded as though it was ‘rattling’ although it probably wasn’t - just sounded like it. Yep, keeping well buddy, just very busy with other things not related to Lakeside which is why there hasn’t been much going on over the last few weeks. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
Hi Graham, I’m trying to find a service sheet or video on how to disassemble the bogie & wheel set on the Class 90 but can’t find anything online. Even the sheet that comes with the loco doesn’t have the exploded view. One of the wires has broken away from the bogie assembly pick up and needs resoldering. Before I attempt to start trying to lever the bogie frame in the wrong place and start breaking things, I thought I’d ask you as you’re the only video I can find on UA-cam. Thanks in advance, regards, Mark
Hi Graham. Nice little video. Pitty you haven't got an Accurascale Class 92. I haven't got the confidence to take the body off to fit a driver and co driver on to it. However, you have made me interested in getting a Bachmann Class 90. Has it ran well ? I've had mixed results with my Bachmann Class 66s.
John Dennis Hi John, no I don’t subscribe to his channel and as Scott has said, if he didn’t do a separate video of this or mention it in the description to title (I don’t know if he did or didn’t) then it wouldn’t have come up in a search - or it didn’t when I did a search anyway. But at least that’s now two videos out there showing how it can be done. Cheers for now mate. .......... Graham
Hi Graham great video.Graham i am modelling the 1960s and i am putting headlights and rear lights in cars from that era, have you any idea if the headlights would be a orange tinge or a yellow tinge. many thanks.
Trent Valley Railway I’m pleased that your 90 was ok and I’m sure that the majority of them are although there are a few I know who have had loose bogies and bits falling off but that’s standard these days. Cheers for now. ...........Graham
charles quinn Hi Charles, it’s apparently going to be in the January edition which will be on sale December 10th. Hope that helps mate. Cheers for now. ..........Graham
i have a question in a situation where the servo motor isnt damage in anyway is it best just to leave it as is i have a damaged bachmann class 90 but its dc and the servos havent been touched or damage if i take the body of should i just leave it?
Ecml Trainspotters Sorry I don’t know about the 47 but I would guess - and it is only a guess, that it would be the normal Bachmann way of removing a diesel loco body which is by four screws under the chassis by the rear of each bogie but that is just an assumption from me and not factual. Have a look because it should be pretty obvious. Cheers for now. .......... Graham
Scott Downey I agree Scott, a bit of an overkill to say the least but I guess they have there reasons - it might be more due to ease of sub assemblies on the production line - don’t know to be honest mate! Cheers for now. .......... Graham
I am thinking to myself what might happen when Lakeside is completed. Maybe a series of tutorials would be interesting. Cheers, Bob

Is it the same with the Bachman 47
I think there are just 4 screws then the body unclips each end by the windows. Instructions should be in the 47 manual.
Ecml Trainspotters Sorry I don’t know about the 47 but I would guess - and it is only a guess, that it would be the normal Bachmann way of removing a diesel loco body which is by four screws under the chassis by the rear of each bogie but that is just an assumption from me and not factual. Way too many screws. All it needs is two screws and 4 magnets. Nothing worse when you need a degree to take a model apart.
