Similar for me. I just turned 42. Been a fan since I was 15. It's crazy to think this is the end but am happy I get to go experience them live one last time and meet them too! I grabbed up a VIP pass as soon as they went on sale

Saw them in '87 and '90 and '92 as a teenager and then again in 2005. Nothing will ever come close to the Too Dark Park tour in 1990. The best show I have ever witnessed live, period.

@KillbotAndGorGorAttack it felt more like a Broadway production than a concert. Sets, costumes, huge video screens and small television sets along the front of the stage playing fake snuff film footage... it was surreal. I'm sure you've seen it, but if not, people have posted the background tape footage from the concert on here, synched to studio versions of the tracks. This was the footage displayed on the large screens throughout the show:

@@Caffeine_Club yep I was there too. Televisions in piles showing static and fake meat on meathooks. It was an incredible show. One of the all time best I've seen too. The sound was incredible and the transitions from song to song were so fluid it felt like one long experience

That's right after Last Rights they went on a musically downward spiral... big time.
Yes the Puppy concert on the Doomsday festival was Dope AF!!!, Equally good as The Last Right tour and that due to the concert in Dresden was very extravagant and much money was put out and in to the stage performance and production from puppy fans in germany that was involved in the festival and the SP concert in general. If you haven't seen the concert it is on UA-cam. My dream Would be they did an officiell relase to the piblic, witch was the plan in the beggining . The wole concert i Pro-shot so imagen the good sound of it, the youtube concerts is in bad

The greater wrong of the right was also ok and pretty cool. But after that tour it falt horrible, ogre can't sing anymote och they worked alot of these masks and custymes tp ogre with me it nowadays seems pretty ridiculus. I truly think that they are aware that they don"t come up with something good these days si it was time to stop recording together as SP.
On the other hand i absolutely adored and love the last records Cevin made and I also love Oghr music so I keep my fingers crossed that they borh will continue to release record both by thereself.
I wish Skinny Puppy a splended farewell tour! They are my favorite industrial band.

I've only been to a couple of smaller concerts before and this is my first time purchasing my own tickets, I am beyond excited to see one of my favorite bands live!
I got into them just before The Process came out and I remember feeling like I would never get to see them live. When Doomsday happened, I flew out to Dresden because I thought it was the only chance I would get, so the past 20 years have been a real gift, and I am for sure going to go see them on this tour with lots of great Puppy memories in tow.

Saw Ohgr and Lead Into Gold on that same tour and also met Paul Barker at the merch table. Really cool to meet one of my favorite musicians and the concert was great.

I’m in the same boat as you where this tour was a long time coming for me and I’m extremely excited to travel down with a few friends to see skinny puppy for my first and sadly only time
The last thing I heard of about them was the OhGr album Tricks which I was able to get ahold of the special set from pledgemusic before the bs that happened but what a shame. I loved even there new music.
I just wish they would do some shows in Europe for the final tour.

You will not be disappointed. I'v seen over 150 concerts & SP 6x. I'v seen orchestras, hip hop, ska, goth, industrial, hardcore, every flavor of metal, edm, trance, & nothing has ever came across with such a good, high sound quality as a SP show. They really take the time to coordinate with the venues to EQ their live sound just right. Plan on going to 2 or 3 dates on this.

I saw them back in 2015 at Montebello RockFest. Bolt Thrower’s Set overlapped, so I had to miss the last 15-minutes of their 45-minute set, and therefore miss the first 15-minutes of SP’s set (but at least I got to see both for the first time!). No more Greyhound bus to Montreal because of the Coof, so I’ll likely be missing this one sadly.
Wow, that’s a hell of a conundrum. “Do I see Bolt Thrower or Skinny Puppy?” I’d clone myself if I could. Lol

I was at their last show last night and it was emotional and mind bending.
I seen them around 2007 give or take. I forget exactly. Was at a HoB. Was fairly Small which was nice.
The process is my favorite. Though enjoy all the earlier stuff a lot. After the process was kind of rocky in good or not amazing but still decent. But still a bunch of memorable tunes

Goddamn, I had no idea they even announced a (final) tour. And I'm super jealous, won't be able to see them because I'm in Europe. Only thing I can hope is that they might actually come to Europe one last time.
Ogre's and cEvin had a great impact on my life and my musical taste. They've been my idols since I've been 14 back in 2008.
So I only got to see them once yet... I've hoped that I could meet Ogre someday myself.

WORTH IT! Ive only seen them once back in 2004. They played on my bday quite a few years ago and i insisted to my then ex that all i wanted for my bday was skinny puppy tickets and she DIDNT get them for me bc she wasnt a fan of them and I was furious to say the least and actually still havent forgiven her for that even though shes long gone. got my tickets for this show, a hot date, and cant wait.

I seen them twice. First in 2007. Second in 2014. I am hoping to catch this final tour.
I'm from SO-CAL and its such a slog of a drive to make it to Los Angeles for any show (making it to San Diego isn't that big of an issue). I never had a chance to see them due my age/location. So I will wait for the CA dates to finally pay my respects for a band that means a lot to me
Can’t believe they aren’t hitting Vancouver on this, hopefully they do one last show here or else I’ll be pissed lmao. So many excellent tours have been announced, I’m hoping to see Cattle Decapitation, Fear and DOA, and the Rotting Christ one too as well as all the little local shows. I am devastated that they aren't coming to St Louis but I was fortunate enough to see them live twice before. I really hope they do a second leg and make it here but odds are it will be Chicago or KC which is equally a pain in the ass to drive to
Skinny Puppy is such a huge influence on my musical taste from 20+ years back, and in this tour I am honestly am cool seeing them do a Best Of. Too Dark Park, VIVIsect VI, Rabies, anything they want to play. This tour is the only time I'll get to see them, and I don't even care if they don't do the best show ever. It's going to be a celebration.
I'm going to see skinny puppy tomorrow( 4-23-23) in Boston. Those fucking tickets where expensive as fuck too!
I saw them last night in Minneapolis. It was a great show! I’ve seen them 4 times over the years now and they always kill it live. I’m sad that they’re hanging it up, but can’t blame them. Touring is hard. Their van broke down in Chicago and they had to scramble to get flights to the Twin Cities. Also, Ogre got injured on stage but he handled it like a pro.

A good “beginner” album is Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse. Though I started with Too Dark Park and never looked back :)

I've been a fan since the beginning, and I get what you mean. They are the only band that have changed that I still love. I now think of the new lineup as a super group. These guys were never a gimmick or just in it for the money and the girls. This band has always been the real deal and I think that is why they are one of the best bands ever.

On the topic of side projects, Download's Eyes of Stanley Pain is one of the greatest industrial albums of all time in my opinion. Phill Western (RIP) is just as much of a massive influence on me as anyone from SP

We are kindred spirits. Skinny Puppy and Ohgr are sooo important in my life and I feel like a better person for having that music in my life. That being said, I politely disagree with you on HanDover... There are some great songs and they still continued the tradition of playing experimental - albeit awkward - sounding songs. That's my favorite thing about Skinny Puppy; the audacity to try different sounds and song structures both hit and miss. I appreciate you doing this video. Take care.
Yeah, skinny puppy is awesome, their musics really cool, my uncle was a big fan of music in general until he sadly died at age 30 in 1997, but he owned like over 350 albums or something like that and he liked skinny puppy, he owned 8 of their albums

The harder an album is listen to, the greater it is. Downward Spiral and Filth Pig are prime examples.
The final tour and guess it was known for long awhile.Won't be meeting and greeting them, these farewell tours always feel like funerals more than celebratory.

@6:55 "meet n greet". I hate to rain on your parade, especially since ya got VIP (me too!) but it's not a meet n greet. It's a group photo opp. cEvin's wife on Facebook said it's just a photo opp. Meeting 50+ people every day would be rough. On top of we still have covid to worry about and them getting sick puts the rest of the tour in jeopardy. Not gonna lie, I thought it was a meet n greet too at first, but then it finally clicked. Then cEvin's wife confirmed it. Hopefully we'll get to run into them though outside the venue or something. I ran into both cEvin and Ogre outside of the venue when I first saw them in February 2014. Chatted with cEvin and got a pic with him. Ogre was sick and dealing with problems at home and needed to eat something, so he couldn't stick around. He did send me a message on Facebook apologizing though and saying he saw me and my friend up front and singing all the words and appreciated the hell out us. So that was really fucking cool of him. Incredible band with incredible people. I can't fucking wait for this tour.

It's early access to merch, 2 songs during sound check and a signed VIP poster with many other goodies. This also doesn't mean your things are going to be signed. The group photo will be with the band while they are on stage and you will be front and center on the floor. Many Covid protocols are in action. Considering this is a long tour.

@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack They go FAR beyond just albums. They're masters of music videos and have done tons of weird interesting projects, and were even very early adopters of the internet! (the "Big Brother" BBS was created in 1984)
I've never seen them live, but from what I've watched and heard, they look FANTASTIC live. They're interesting in that they don't usually do "greatest hits" tours, all their tours usually focus on a concept or story they're telling.
I could go on all day about The Residents, but I don't wanna make you read an essay in the comments, so I'll leave it off here. I recommend the "Randy, Chuck, and Bob" trilogy of live albums.
What sucks about it:: trying to get day off work, get hotel room and gas money, and both my dogs died this year (like a bad omen...the end of era ...chau to Gods of Industrial music).
