My mum has this on white label.. From late 60's along with a vast collection of Trojan. From shop in Hackney 💖 I used to put this on when mum was out shopping (aged 11 in 80's). Just love it..
I'd never thought I would find this track anywhere. its one that's lived in my mind since early 1970s played at the summer fair on the Horror chamber attraction through the cruddy rough sound systems of the time..Absolutely fantastic. Thanks uploaded ☺☺☺☺😊
I have in my collection. When I was at school in ' 60's the music teacher played it in class and then the classical version and asked us skinheads which version was best.......!!!!!
Yes... been blessed living through being a first generation skinhead in Shipley... Right till this time and next weekend I'll be going to see Zion Train.... forward ever....one love, Roy
I have this on 7 inch vinyl Baf label. Bought it when it came out in the reggae skinhead era. Still play it with my Reggae collection. Also have William tell by the Cats.
My husband loves this and could not remember when it was out or who sung it but I googled it and hello! He is 56 he was eleven at the time so it must have been played in the youth clubs. I love it too.
Been looking for this song for years, been haunting me since I was 10 when it first hit the radio pop stations in Phoenix Arizona, late 1969. It had a fairly good run back then, glad I found it. Thanks!
Not Tommy McCook.... The flute was played by legendry nigerian sax/flute player Peter King. The track was recorded 1968 at Maximum Sound recording studio in old kent rd london. The Cats were a black uk band from Mile End london. Dandy Livingstone recorded A Message to you Rudy at the same studio a year earlier in 1967.
Anywhooo, now I need to figure out that bassline, as I'm learning, at 50, how to play a musical instrument. Mostly starting with old punk/ska. Madness, Clash. This seems incredibly simple Thanks for posting!!!!
These 3 minutes are better than what has come out on popular radio in the last 10 years
***** Nope. The best rapper is DMX
Pure gold ! Gives me goosebumps everytime !

This took me right back to my early teens. Grew up in London. We had the best of everything. Fashions, music all of it.
Memories of my youth, Makes me feel quite emotional actually. Those years and good times will never come back
Tony Gadd from Wood Green put this on the record player for me over 50 years ago. Have never forgotten him or this version of Swan Lake

I grew close to Brixton, the capital of reggae at the time you could buy anything transformed to remixed to reggae - brings back great memories.
When you are apart of history and fashion you just dont forget great days revisited love it

Was at a ska session in hackney last night, this piece was touched and suddenly the vibes were set. Wicked piece of tune.
