Late 60's Early 70's ...When it was Music and Clothes ..Black and White Working Class Camaraderie .. And Skinheads were worthy of the name SKINHEAD.........Skinheads Life Would Never Be The Same ...
I had to save up for months to get my Crombie coat, with my shiny Doc Martens, I was one of the big black skinheads in south London, meet and beat at the Locarno.
I love the video. Is this a documentary? Anyone know the name? I’d love to watch it. I wasn’t born yet but I love the look and sound of that time in London. ❤️☝🏼
Some of the footage is in the BBC documentary Reggae Britannia from 2012 but there's a much older documentary film simply called Reggae, directed by Horace Ove, from 1970. Hope that helps.
@@MatthewBrannigan The flute solo was played by legendary nigerian sax/flute player Peter King. The track was recorded at Maximum Sound studio in old kent rd in 1968.
@@kpow-en3ny Thank you so much for that info. It is indeed a fabulous solo. Dynamites' Next Corner from '69 has some lovely flute, I wonder if that was him too?
@@MatthewBrannigan Theres an interesting bio of Peter King (nigerian not the english jazz man) on wikipedia. Also Dandy Livingstone recorded A Message to you Rudy at the same studio in 1967.
Thank you Tony Iommi for bringing me to this song.

Possibly the greatest flute solo of all time. What is this video footage? Anyone know?
The flute solo positively reeks of 1968/69, whoever could do Jazz flute in those days must've done very well for themselves!
