Connect the snatch block carabiner to both ends of the strap! It will double the load capability of the strap and not strain it as much as with the single choke hook setup!
The girl didn't pull the log with the setup we watched her make. Somehow a pulley mysteriously appeared on the log just before moving it for a 2 x 1 instead of the straight pull 1 x 1 that she set up.
Yes, I noticed that after I set up my own rigging exactly like she did: chain-carabiner-shackle-thimbled winch rope. So my confusion wasn't imaginary. Also, when I used her setup to pull the rope, the chain wanted to slide off the log. Honda Centre should post a corrected video.
Rite. On the tree sling you set it around like a choke. On those slings and in that type of job just put the carabiner or d shackle thru the 2 sling eyes as it's stronger.
The Complete Set UP she made for Winching is AMATUER to say the least WOW I would NEVER set ANYTHING up to pull a significant WEIGHT using a "Carabineer" ...They are NOT intended for Any type of a Load such as this is ...
@@Wilett614 Buddy. You're wrong. Flat out wrong plain and simple. They make carabiners rated for 70kn. That's serious weight. They're made of steel so they are intended for very heavy weights. You don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about. Stop misinforming people out of your stupidity.
Why pick her for this video? She was just regurgitating information she was recently taught. Her strap for the winch base was sloppy and saggy, but after the next camera cut it was fixed properly. Just have the knowledgeable person make the video. She was out of her element and it took away from the video.
THE GIRL DID NOTHING TO ENTICE ME TO BUY ONE, AND BY THE TIME IT WAS SAID AND DONE IN THIS VID I WOULD HAVE DONE 2 MOVES IN THAT TIME.........FURTHER MORE THE NOISE POLLUTION AND THE ENVIRONMENT IMPACT OF USING THAT WOULD BE MORE THAN ITS WORTH
Horsehockey. I grew up driving the old narrow wheel tractors and they are dangerous enough going through sweeping turns at the end of the row. They are very tippy and many drivers have been killed rolling them. They are not designed for woods work beyond flat woods roads and straight pulling. Like a hay ride. I am looking at buying this winch because I have all kinds of other come-alongs, electric winches, modern tractor attachments etc and at the end of the day, if there is any steepness, a lot of those tools become useless or too dangerous to try to use. This winch is the best thing I have seen yet. And it is a lot cheaper and more reliable than an old tractor
I like how all us guys immediately jump on her for little stupid things. I mean come on, she's just trying to sell winches for their business, man. My kind of woman. Give her a break, y'all.
match your tools to the job. this winch is not designed for a 36-inch log, unless it is a pine or hemlock cut to ten feet. they do not advertise this winch for old growth hardwoods. For about 99% of the tree cutting most people do, including loggers, this winch is perfect.

Useful video, thank you. Where did that pulley come from when the log started moving?
Hook was on the chain backwards

There are steel carabiners rated at 70KN. That's well over 15,000lbs. Very suitable for this type of work. You don't know what you're talking about.

Lol. She wouldn't say SNATCH BLOCK.
oh shit hahahaa
Lol
I wonder why 😅
Not the same setup on log, the strap the tree strump is different . 2 completely different setups. How are you trying to fool?
You installed a pulley on the log which misrepresents your original setup. Not what should be done in an advertising video
hook the winch up to the now rotted tree or decomposed moose
Someone switched a lot of stuff around for her
