No runs and Pablo looks like he’s feeling better? That’s a GREAT day!
Brent, you are absolutely right . This is your truck as long as you’re happy , that’s all that matters . I would buy it.
You're getting there, Brent. Doubtful anyone really loves bodywork, even weirdos. For the viewers who complain about the boring sanding and repetitive welding, I'll remind you there's a back button and an off button free to use on UA-cam. As for me , I'd have a cold one with Brent and watch paint dry🍺👍
A friend of mine uses a portable spray booth to do his sanding. when done all the dust is self contained inside the booth. I'm not talking the blow up ones, they scatter the dust because of the fan, I mean the ones you wrap in plastic. You can make one from metal poles or from PVC pipe.
Sounds like pvc is a good idea. It could easily be made to disassemble and store when not in use. Cleaning that large shop of his would be a nightmare to clean every time he’s doing body work. The dust from that stuff gets into everything. I’ll bet if you clean the booth well enough you could even spray your primer in it
Strange thing is with projects is that when it’s finished and ready to go you instantly forget all the hard work that’s gone into it. Happy days...
That's what women call pregnancy amnesia😄
Any project has moments of painful frustration. It’s why I don’t do much. But you’ve got to admire how Brent gets thru these “mired in disgust” days. He always bounces back and gets it done. 😊👍👍
Don’t lose heart Brent……it’s looking great 👍👍👍🏴
I loved the lessons in this one. I watch another Canadian youtuber who is constantly annoyed by internet expert suggestions and feels constantly criticized. I have given him this simple advice. His car, his money and his preference. If you take every suggestion on the internet you'll never enjoy and appreciate what your doing. There is a saying..."Opinions are like @&& holes everybody has one. Heads up my friend you are making progress and I think this is going to be awesome. If you like it I'm happy for you. Thanks for letting us in your shop.
I also watched the other,. Have since unsubscribed. He didn't and doesn't take to well to others input whether it be good or not. He encouraged watchers to leave a comment, then called the input foolish, weird other other. Always advising ways to save time, yet he usually lost more time through his foolish approach and attitude.
Opinions are like *&sholes ...everyone has one ,but everyone thinks their own is special.
Every day the truck looks more awesome! Can't wait to see color!
Happy Wednesday Pablo and company! 😊
2 tips..make sure you plug the airways in your gun when putting in the gunwash, the gun wash fluid eats your air seals,, and put a small bit of coloured paint, blue red...into the last coat of primer..acts as a handy guide coat..
There is a god. Having a crap day and Halfass comes on to save it! Thanks.
I feel the same way, I don't like perfect. I want to enjoy whatever I'm driving. I enjoy your videos, and at 71 I'm still learning! Thanks Brent!
Body work sucks! Well it's rewarding in the end. Brent don't feel bad making video's on you just sanding etc. Keep in mind that there is a large amount of people out there that have unanswered questions about what they run into when doing bodywork etc. And there might be an answer for them or technic answer in there or overall they learn something they shouldn't do😂. I definitely wanna meet you in person someday and shake your hand and applaud you for what you do and share with the world. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to share and talk to us about your plans etc. Don't ever be discouraged, your teaching/learning at the same time. Thats all that matters. Cheers from the great state of Ohio.
your happyness is the most inportent
Do whatever works for you. Wise words from an experienced builder. If you're happy with it, that's ALL that matters.
I think the remedy to your body preparation horrors is to give your young helpers the great and generous opportunity to learn bodywork, you’ll finish in no time 😂 I agree with you, it’s much more fun driving than spending precious days sanding Still great progress 👍
We can feel your frustration. But this is such a cool build. You and your family are a huge inspiration to us novice car builders. Every job/car you work on I feel like I learn something new. Just want to let you know that even if you are down, you bring an awful lot of people up. Keep up all the great work.
Sometimes you just need a break from certain tasks. Especially is it not something you enjoy doing. The grey DOES look really good on camera though😊 and GREY MATTERs! Thanks again for sharing your Shop Time with us.👍👍❤
Enjoying your work from 9,000 miles away keep it up ...
We all appreciate the time you take and not keep us watching paint dry, hee hee, by speeding up your work.
I enjoy watching the process you go through and the technique used.
Like, share and keep going, can’t wait for the first ride. 😄
Or bondo dry lol
You are a great guy Brent. I love how you politely & graciously say " All you haters can F.O." :)
Keep doing Your thing!😊
Hello! Thank you for offering yourself! ❤
A larger sanding tent, easy to air out with a fan that transports away the sanding dust and easy to set up and take down.... That way you and many others don't have to clean the whole garage as soon as it comes to sanding!

I know how your feeling with some aspects of building things, there's stuff that just seems to take so long. But if you don't take the time the mistakes are shown in the end product and you end up fixing later, so do it right and once no matter how long! You'll be happy in the end admiring and enjoying what you have accomplished.👌
Man, that truck is looking A-okay! It will be sweet looking. Keep on trucking.
Brent, you are the customer!!! Build it how you want.
As long as the results satisfice you, the rest doesn't matter ! to much perfection kills perfection... And seeing you work this car is a learning lesson for me, I never thought that it took that much work to have a nice body with out bumps, ha ha ha ! Very nice job Brent thx for what you share
That’s one problem with having a nice big shop to work in Brent, cleaning the place including the friggin walls. You have an incredible shop Brent, it’s just too bad it had to have the old memories lost to get it. Your attitude is wonderful. Keep up the great work Brent.
Laugh Brent, and all the world laughs along with you.....
Brother, that truck is looking amazing. Fun following your progress as usual. Seeing it all in one color really shows off the beauty of this creation. I cant wait to see it in paint and the bed cover on.
Free tech tip from the Aerospace industry. When spreading sealant or, in your case glass bondo, a jar of "soapy water" is helpful ... it allows your finger "glide" along when spreading ... same deal when one spreads RTV on your Bathtub seams.
A cold beer a good nites sleep and everything will be fine ,
Know you’re ready to be done with all this body work. But, then again it is pretty old. So, appreciate your hard work. Thank you Brent!
💯👊👍
Once again you reach the point where it stopes being a project and becomes a full on job . Your in the shop doing the work but now you have reached the point where you want to say enough is enough . Athletes reach the point where they can't or don't want to go any further , but to reach the finish they have to push harder and achieve their goal . In the future you will look back on this time and smile , it will seem like nothing when you look at your finished product and say I did it and I'm proud . God Bless you , take a few deep breaths , Stuart in Ontario ..
SANDING WEIRDOS REPRESENT!!!👍👍👍☝️
The truck is looking awesome..I would be glad to drive it..just under primer..your hard work is paying off
Some times things are drudgery, but that's what paint prep is sometimes. After that the fun begins!
Looking forward to seeing your Painless Wiring install. Great product/company and the Overholsers are good people..
The only problem with a truck--there is a lot of acreage to massage to get it in paint! Keep sanding Brent, you're almost there!🌫
Brent really looking cool. Take care friend.
3:28 High Build is your friend!!🤣
Best stuff ever!!
Nice not to see the rust and stuff anymore. The truck is really looking nice on camera. You can now see the door gaps and things are really moving forward now. Finally in primer 👍 👌
You just have to remember it's worth it in the end.Thats turning out to be an awesome ride!Good job Brent 👍
Cab looks dam good on cam
Brent I like the idea of spray on bedlinner for one it would probably cover all of your welds and gaps and maybe even the colour you might even use!
That's ma lot of work completed. A very productive video for sure. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
Body work is a Zen thing 😂😂 patience my friend 👨🏻🎨
You've got to be the happiest annoyed fella I've ever seen!😎
hardest working u tuber
Seems like it would be easier in the long run to turn the building you just moved from into a paint and body shop, then you won't have the big mess to clean up after every project.
Very non-chalant. Really like a enjoy the man's approach. Eger beaver, he sure does put a lot of effort into his projects.
I am excited to see what color it is going to be
Now that you have a major cleanup to do in the shop don’t you wish that you had planned it out better and included a provision to install a body work area isolated from the main shop?
Prime time, primer timer, primed timed.
always amazes me what a little paint can hide.
Mate I love watching your videos. They're real and honest and we all feel this way at times. I have a 52 Studebaker commander here in Australia that I'm trying to finish and I struggle with the love / hate relationship I have with the car 🤔🤣. Very envious of your skills and knowledge as well as your new setup 🙏. Very grateful Australians here..🙏👍👍
At the end I was feeling it then you said it I was nodding my head yeap I hear that. But Dude Even with globs the damn truck Looks killer. When you put the rear fenders on it really comes together. And all the seams on the front end look really good. it looks so custom NOT halfasss either. Dang Fool. You take care, Thank You D
You're doing a great job on this Kustom ute, Cobber.
Thank you for pushing through.
Enjoy your day.
Some people build trailer queens and some people build drivers and even ratrods. I prefer good safe daily drivers that look half decent. You put in the time and it looks good. Lots of creativity. 👌
The word "schplutz".... love it!
You’re right, there’s always another day. You have really worked hard on this truck. I’m inspired by your efforts. And I’m enjoying the process.
It was nice visiting with you and I like your colour choice for the truck too bad it was too early for beers lol
So,we towed the Fargo to Drumheller. Stopped for gas, nice fellow walks up and says i like your truck, you gonna fix it up? I laughed and said it is fixed up😂
Im dead set on not even washing the Studebaker. Moss and all will stay as is,will slowly use my home made shine juice. If it works like i think it will, i will share it with the world.
Looking awesome Brent
No runs AND you’ve got Pablo!
Progress!!!! 👍🏼🍺🍺
Hang in there buddy, it'll block sand out nice enough to paint, you're on the home stretch
You can get you some sheets of sandpaper and wrap them around a stir stick that you stir your paint with and it makes a great block to block one out with
We had a tornado that took out all over, electricity tore
Brent, Thanks for what you do, and I only wish the nay Sayers wouldn't effect you so much, cause I Dig your Content and your Hard Work with your vision, It is So Freaken NEAT and I So Appreciate It! THANKS AGAIN!...
Excellent idea! 2 air hoses for painting!😊
Looking brilliant Brent 👍👍don’t Let it get you down mate - deep breath and work on something else for a while 👍
Looking mint there Brent
Stay with it, bit at a time
Chin up dude💚🇬🇧🌱 I'm feeling your pain, bodywork does indeed take a special kind of patience...
Another bite of the elephant! Take care.
Murphy is never too far away and he sometimes visits for far too long! It looks great from our end, Brett! Way to power through the rough times!
Yea Brent, Just Take a Couple Days Off & You'll Be Good to Go Again!! You'll
Get That GMC the way You want it You'll 👀 SEE!! Hang In There Partner!!@👍
☃️⛄️
The gun problem could be from using to small of a spray tip, for thicker primer definitely throw on a 2.0 or 2.5
Your truck is turning out nice, it reminds me of the Rod & Custom Dream Truck, that I remember as a kid. As a journeyman glazier and having worked at various glass shops, including auto glass it bothers me that your top of your windshield is not framed. But oh well it’s what you want hopefully no one grabs the top of the glass when getting in with your top off. I guess that could crack the laminated glass. It’s going to be interesting to see how it works out for you. Windshield urethane does wonders gluing the glass in though! I’ve really enjoyed watching you for years and your builds and your trials and tribulations! I’m glad you have a very nice shop to work out of now. Keep up the good work! I’m with yah!
Whew...dang spray guns...other than that lookin great..goood to c Buddy & Pablo hangin....take a few days off plz...love'n the progress ❤🤠
It looks fine Brent. Dont be so hard on yourself. Its alot of work.
She's starting to come together now Brent. Nice bodywork brother good enough is the Halfass way.greetings from sth Australia 🇦🇺 👍 🐨🦘🐪🪃
Brent,
Look into linear sanding blocks for those times when sanding curved surfaces
At least your efforts aren't in vain ! Truck is really coming along !
It’s Looking great !! Thanks for another , Brother !
Your the customer.. And if your happy, it's good enough!
It'll be fine Brent!😊
That thing is gorgeous, going to ba a real head turner! Nicely done
Forget the color. Get the mechanics done and bring it to bttf in primer and enjoy your hard work. When you get back you'll be ready to get the color on.
Matt
A tough day in your own shop beats any day working for someone else for peanuts. Cheers !
I think it looks great Brent and yeah,, I've had the high solids boogers too and they'll sand out just fine, my favorite way to sand curvey bodies is to use a piece of sidewall from a junk tire a stick the paper on it, they follow great and no finger digs
It actually looked awesome shiny when you was spraying
Ask Puddin about the Sweet Patina. They have a frame spray & a bedliner spray that is Fantastic. You may be able to get a sponsorship from them too to help with your builds. That bed would be nice, with a Sweet Patina Rhino lining & undercoating. That truck is looking Awesome Brent. Tell Esther Hello. Ty for taking us along
You mentioned burn out on the truck. Take a little time off and work on the Buick, love that Buick. ❤️❤️
Sometimes primer gets bits in it if its been allowed to settle out in the tin so you have a load of thick stuff on the bottom of the can. When you mix it back up you are left with bits. That is what probably caused the gun to dribble when a bit of cr@p got stuck in the needle seat. You can also get bits if you are spraying a bit dry, that is the paint drying too much before settling on the bodywork but you seemed to have a good wet look to the freshly laid primer so it didn't look like it was going on dry. Sand it back and get new primer.
If the " fun factor" is gone it's time to reboot Brent and I think you are there !! You know you are making great strides forward but it doesn't show. A break is what you need. And something else, I agree with you that I am going to drive all my vehicles. If it's to nice to drive, it's to nice for me to own !! Hang in there my friend and God bless you and Esther !!!!! Eddy
Great work Brent!! Annoying but you made it through and thanks im heading out to the garage to do some more body work on my project!!!
HI again Halfass customs Brent and Ester from the D Mi 😎 hey thanks for sharing another great video update on your 49 GMC and nice job Brent id looking good more like a Simi complete Truck 🎉👍🤩 I think I'll have to stop calling it patches 😮😅 😜
Looking good and frustrating, all at the same time, to me too. Chin up and sandpaper down... it's all "in primer" now! Whether you know it or not, you are an inspiration!!!
