- Follow up to our high ridgelines video - here's a little inside on a new knot. Joel calls this knot the Jimmy Variation of the Canadian Jam Knot after a student, Jimmy, accidentally stumbled into this sweet twist during one of our survival classes. Thanks Jimmy.

hi Joe, thank you . I just applied this Jimmy Jam knot as supporting system(with sticks) for my creeper plants . thanks for the super clear video .
I hadn't seen a new video in a while??
You don't have to secure the end once you cut it off? My end comes loose if there isn't a lot of friction or a heavy load.
He didn’t lock off the jam knot because earlier in the video, he mentioned that he might want to reuse the cordage. If u lock it off you would have to cut it. Personally, i would lock it, and I cut it off, so it doesn’t become undone. Not much cordage used anyway!,
What kind of cordage is that being used?
The Jimmy jam knot!
Love it!
What knife are you carrying?
