And aside from his physical display of just how badly he is freaking out, he is just a horrible liar. Dude's body language is just screaming "I AM GUILTY!" and you would have to be deaf, dumb, and blind to not see it.
The angle of the body cam footage at times shows that the officer is likely just staring at Chris in silence for long periods of time, probably in utter shock and disbelief in what he’s seeing. It’s astonishing to watch.
At 2:30 when the officer asks for Chris, neighbor says he’s “supposedly” coming but he said that 30 minutes ago and now says 45. Neighbor knew. Neighbor’s son knew too because he was trying to convince the cop to break into the house. Kid is smart. If he was a cop he’d probably pull the old “I heard somebody scream ‘help’” and break in.
Best friends are called best friends for a reason. Even though It was Chris wife in the story. Chris under estimated his wifes loyalty to her true friend. And that true friend was not him.
Besides Nicole, there were about 6 other of her friends talking to each other all worried sick. Shannan was always trying to motivate and encourage everyone.

29:10 A real power play move by the cop there. Softly say “dispatch” while facing the cam towards Chris to get his reaction. Chris turned around in an instant and his face said it all. Really well played by the cop, damn!
Nick Emmannwori the sending of someone or something to a destination or for a purpose Meaning he was going to call for back up or something of the sort and that made him uncomfortable
Nick Emmannwori “dispatch” is the section of the law enforcement who send out backup/medical units/firefighters etc When Chris heard the officer say “dispatch..” the reaction from Chris suggested he thought maybe the officer was going to say something like “send backup” or “extra units” or something to that effect, indicating that he might be getting arrested. His face showed total fear, and then immediate relief when he heard the officer was only canceling the medics. Great moment!
His life was pretty much over. They had been living way beyond their means. They were trying to sell the house before foreclosure. And they were getting separated. Child support for three kids would have had him moving back in with his parents. Nichol Kessinger wouldn't want him upon realizing he would be living on less than 2k/month.
The cop at 1:28:00 just stands there during this whole sequence looking off to the right and won't even look at Chris. He's just soaking it all in. He knows.
I've watched this a few times. Even when he arrives home in his truck, notice how gingerly he comes to a stop. I have never been married and don't have kids, but if I got a call saying my family was MIA. I'd be speeding and taking corners at 40 mph and screeching to a halt as I arrived home. And screaming for any response as I enter the house. In the hours afterward I would be a complete mess with tears and assuming the worst.

He’s not creative or smart enough to go into hiding.
I feel as if the policeman was extremely suspicious of Chris the entire time, but didn’t want to make any immediate assumptions because of the story Chris gave. His wife was diabetic, but Chris’ body language was showing suspicion the entire time. It was clear he was almost trying to focus on staying “content” rather than worried about where his wife and children are. Another thing I noticed, the policeman would ask Chris the same question in a different format minutes apart to see if his story was changing. He was being very strategic.
Violence is most predicated by who you know or live near. This is why you have to choose good people to love or live near. Any missing person case, the spouse is suspect #1. Every cop knows it.
Someone commented, “An innocent worried person has a whole lot of questions. A guilty person has a whole lot of answers…” So true, I’ve never forgotten that comment. Very insightful! I think that was his plan, it was to stick the bodies in the tanks and Shannan near them and blow it up, which is why police found gas containers in his truck. A similar explosion happened with Anadarko a year or so before his family was murdered. All he needed was for Nikki to not show up at his house when she did. Then he would have had time to come back home to get rid of her belongings at the house, throw those in the tank too, and set the tanks up to explode. Nikki foiled any plan of his to set up the house to even remotely look like she left on her own.
