Great work as always, very informative and helpful. It is amazing how much visual impact a little mist can lend to a scene, and it is defiantly something I would like to experiment with. Thanks for the inspiration and info!
Yeah I love how it extends the terrain and lights it. That's a great idea for the moon phases. Fun fact is that shell is actually from a broken moon phase lamp. It had small LED strips that illuminated each phase section.
Yeah that'd kinda work, problem is smoke machines generally have a "warm up" time before they start hazing. If it's consistent on your smoke machine, than it might be possible to time it.
Thanks very much! Those big rocks are super handy. They're made from dense packing foam i've shaped by hand and with a wood burner. Coated in a couple coats of modpodge.
@@Atmoseeker The kind that makes a big mess and crumbles everywhere? Or something else? I definitely could use some large boulder/cliff rocks for my table and noticed you don't have a "how to" in your crafting playlist. Oh well. Appreciate you as always Sebastian!
@@HouseDM Yeah it crumbles, it's basically the denser packing foam you might get with electronics like microwaves and tv's etc. Unfortunatly i don't have that video, but a great one to cover one day! I certainly get a lot of use out of them.
Hey mate, sorry no video for that one. It's made from those EVA foam gym mats. Happy to pull it up on the next Livestream to show how it came together 👍
Thanks for watching! Yeah the first few foggers (reptile humidifier, fogmonster, and humidifier wand) all use ultrasonic mist makers in their design. That fog is already cool so it doesn't need ice.
@atmoseeker does the water based fog fluid residue evaporate off of miniatures/terrain over time or do you have to actively clean it? (water based, i assume something like 70% dystilled water to 30& vegetable glycerin you mean?) Thanks for this video. Very informative and amazing. I recently bought a fog machine for my games and im worried about the residue so I would love some insight from your side :)
Thanks mate! In my years of using fog I haven't had to actively clean any terrain or minis. It usually evaporates if there's any buildup. On that Zombie board, a bulk of the residue built up on smooth plastic surfaces like the LED panels and inside the cooling chamber. Those are the only things I give a clean or wipe up after a few hours of fog.
Wow I'm glad Lyla recommended this channel this is theme park next level immersive stuff! But what kind of dollar store has $10 fog machines? Speaking of cheap, that humidifier wand has my thinking... Will any defuser/ humidifier type device work?
Thanks for watching! Yeah I'm in Australia and a bargain store had stock of smoke machines at Halloween (Halloween"s a great time to stock up on this stuff). That humidifier wand is still one of my fave go-to's for a portable effect. I think a lot of them use similar tech for creating mist, however I guess it depends if they're leak proof at different angles. If you haven't seen it, here's the video where I make one ua-cam.com/video/QJDMmxAH30c/v-deo.html
Hey! Yeah this one's the one I was using in the stream. Just double check it has the same connection as your fog machine (same amount of pins, round or square connection, etc) www.ebay.com.au/itm/295270157040
Do you have discord? I'd like to direct message and get in contact with you so i can ask my questions regarding my fog machine project to get specifics! I can also reach out through different platforms but my preference is by far discord.
Hey mate! There is a discord, but it's currently reserved for Patreon and channel members. But by all means, feel free to reach out on other platforms. Always happy to talk fog
woah, I have the Fog Monster 2, but I didn't even know about the pulse setting. Thank you!!!
Great video, especially with those water based misters. I have some players where the smoke smell bothers them, so this will be perfect.
Thanks for watching! Yeah I love using those 😄
Super cool!!! All of it!! I’d love to see you do more stuff with the moon or maybe glowing planets.
Thanks very much! Yes I'd love to do more on that idea
Really should be an Amazon link to these misters. I wanna buy some of these but I got no clue where to find em
I've popped a bunch of links in the description 👍Shout out if theres anything missing (some foggers can be hard to find in certain regions)
Vraiment impressionnant, merci pour ces vidéos.

Thanks very much! Yeah it's always that extra little spice that brings it up a notch
oh man that moon gives me ideas.
going to 3d print one, and then a slightly smaller dome on the inside i can slide around to make the moon phases.

I wonder if a smart plug would work as a timer for the smoke machine...
Yeah that'd kinda work, problem is smoke machines generally have a "warm up" time before they start hazing. If it's consistent on your smoke machine, than it might be possible to time it.
Thanks Sebastian! Enjoyed this vid quite a bit. In the first set up, was that big rock in the back made entirely of xps foam or something else?
Thanks very much! Those big rocks are super handy. They're made from dense packing foam i've shaped by hand and with a wood burner. Coated in a couple coats of modpodge.

@@Atmoseeker awesome! I might try to beat you to it and make one next time I have some spare packing foam. Thanks for getting back to me!
Great info. Really cleared up some things folks may have been... 😎 "foggy" on. Serious, though, well done, Seb
Haha cheers mate!
That cheapest one you were showing with the little plastic bottle on it- would a hose or tube filled with water work in the bottles place?
Possibly. They run for quite a while, they just need the cotton straw that's used to draw water into the fogger to be wet.
How did you make that enclosure? (the circular wall) Is that in a video or livestream I missed?
Hey mate, sorry no video for that one. It's made from those EVA foam gym mats. Happy to pull it up on the next Livestream to show how it came together 👍
I wonder if I could get a similar effect to the fog machine with an ultrasonic mist maker with some improvised cooling packs

thanks for answering! ^^ good to know that the residue isnt an issue :)
do you have to use anything specific to wipe it off or just with water? 🤔
For the panels I just wiped em with paper towel, and for the cooling chamber I just give it a hose out with water every now and then.

I enjoyed the stream. The only downside is I now want to run a WEG Star Wars D6 game and paint legion minis. LOL
Thanks mate! That's a good problem to have in my opinion! 😄
I need you to do a course on camera setup XD. My LUMIX setting are all funky and I cant figure it out for the life of me XD
Ha well I'm not a huge camera professional, but if it were me, I'd do a factory reset then set what I need
Do you have a link to the remote???
Hey! Yeah this one's the one I was using in the stream. Just double check it has the same connection as your fog machine (same amount of pins, round or square connection, etc) www.ebay.com.au/itm/295270157040
Love me some good fog
