    Love my reptile fogger. I own a glycerin fogger, a reptile fogger, and have access to dry ice. Of those three options, I use the reptile fogger most consistently. Cheers mate!

    I love the effects of fog. It's something that brings my tables to life. I have mainly been using a normal fogger that I cool and pipe through PVC. It does tend to smoke up the room through and it does leave some residue so I actually stopped. What worries me on the water based product is I use a lot of Army Painter Speed Paint which has been known to reactivate with water. I seal everything with varnish but it still feels to risky to try. I guess I'm still searching for the perfect low lying fog solution. Great video!

    Here is an idea btw, for any future tests.
    Use a box of ice (I found chiller box at thingiverse and learned it from there), by where fogger smoke come out, it makes it denser, lasts longer and it seems to be much better.

    Hey boss, with the fogger, have you tried something like pre-filter sponges for aquariums or pet water fountains? I don't have a fogger (yet) but theoretically, it should allow the fog through, but capture any moisture buildup

    • @Atmoseeker
      @Atmoseeker  3 місяці тому

      Yes! I've just started using these and they work really well. They mostly act as a good decelerator. They don't capture all moisture, but the effect is pretty cool. You can see it's effect in the latest cave atmosphere video ua-cam.com/video/n-I_pSP2US4/v-deo.htmlsi=sGuKhz5YBIjtzX_Q

    Holy hippogriff! I need to get and build one for myself too. Really good stuff! I do have one question though: whats the sound level on that humidifier? Is the fan annoyingly loud and could potentially ruin the immersion of your encounters? I recently bought a small smoke machine and the fan on that thing is way too loud for my taste and the smoke liquid residue is not something I want to expose to my miniatures and terrain.

      Thank you so much! I use half inch (15mm) pipes, and the pipe fits into the pipe joiners (T joints, elbow, etc) if you widen the hose with a bit of duct tape on the end. This would make it sit snugger into the unit as well.

    Moisture based foggers shouldn't be used in this hobby space, why people continue to try and push them, instead of coming up with an easily built, at home glycerin based fogger is beyond me. Vape pen foggers suck because they can only hold a small amount of glycerin, and can only be run for short bursts of time. Come up with a small, glycerin based fogger with a giant tank that can run for 3-4 hours straight, and be ADJUSTABLE, and you've got a million view video.

    • @Atmoseeker
      @Atmoseeker  Рік тому +4

      Thanks for the input! You're more than welcome to not use water based foggers. Glycerine based foggers can be great for the hobby, in fact one of my most popular videos is how to use a cheap smoke machine. My goal is to show options for tabletop atmosphere, and water based ones are now cheap and accessible.

      I can't say for sure, but I'd be careful with electronics like that. I've used it on a monitor setup, but that was mostly for a sparse fog effect. For anything denser, probably protecting the monitor with a sheet of acrylic or glass would do the trick.

    I recently bought a € 35,- fog machine (AAA battery charged) and it was a total piece of junk. Refilling was a nightmare, it was extremely noisy and it stopped working after only two uses. This looks much more promising! Too bad it takes up so much space on the table.

    SEB!!! This is such an amazing video! Every time I think you've maxed out the production quality, you outdo yourself again! You've got me over here rethinking my entire tabletop fog setup that isn't even finished yet!
    Side note, I've seen some setups that actually run a traditional fogger through an enclosure containing a moisture fogger like your reptile one to give the fog some extra weight. It means thick fog with extra weight that stays low for longer! Kinda the best of both worlds!
    I'm still on the fence about moisture on my terrain but I'm certainly more open to trying it out after seeing your tests here!

    • @Atmoseeker
      @Atmoseeker  Рік тому +2

      Cheers mate! Always love seeing your table setups on your streams. That's really interesting about combo-ing fogs, I'll have to try that out. One of the take-aways from this video is also all the dispersal ideas, they'll translate to whatever fog method you use.
      One thing I really wish this fogger had is a puffer mode. Having it turning it off and on at intervals would stretch out any moisture buildup. Maybe something could be rigged up with a timer...

    • @ConstructedChaos
      @ConstructedChaos Рік тому +1

      @@Atmoseeker That's a great point! My new setup (that's nearly finished) utilizes a series of pneumatic lines that I've built into the edges of the table running out from an ice chest with 10 ice packs sat within 3d-printed holsters for them. It's not too unlike your pipes with holes drilled in them!
      The main issue I've been battling has to do with not enough pressure from the fog unit to push the fog through the ice chest and pneumatic lines without it back feeding into the machine. I think I've solved the issue but I probably won't have time to test it out until next week.
