0:11 If i'm not mistaken, Tobey Maguire was made to retake this "Capture all food" scene multiple times because the director wanted him to do it without any effects. The face of awe and relief when he did it was genuine.
From what heard it wasn’t the director pushing to have it practical it was Tobey like they tried a few times and they wanted to move on but Tobey was adamant about it. The tray was also attached to his hand to help if it wasn’t prolly wouldn’t have happened at all
I still find it funny how Tobey shot the web at the tray, walked away with jt, and then started doing backflips and throwing hard and fast punches, then a couple of days later Spider-Man shows up and nobody had a clue
I like to think everyone around Peter knows he's Spider-Man, but doesn't tell him for his sake. Like at the end of that Train Scene or Insomniac's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. A vow of secrecy only the Neighborhood knows.
@@efu2046no one knows about it, in this trilogy the people from the train and from spider man 2 his villains harry and mj knows it as far as ik and if they already knew it there's no way someone with that huge number of students didn't exposed him
Andrews reaction to just completely annihating everyone at the subway being like "sorry! SO SORRY ! OH Sorry" is just perfect everytime. he truly nailed the part
For anyone wondering why Tobey's webbing is organic, its because the directors/ studio thought audiences at the time would not accept/ be taken out of the story if they showed Tobey developing his own web shooters. So they streamlined the process and made it easier to adapt to film, by giving him his natural web shooters. Also, it did make the story seem more natural to give him his organic web shooters, than to develope it on his own with no access to chemicals, no money, no high tech labs, and all the while hiding it from his roommates and family. Please remember there was no Amazon back then or easy way to ship/ get the products Peter would need to purchase the web. And even if he did Peter was basically destitute for the entire franchise. He could not afford to buy webbing.
It also fits the mutation part the best. Like, either the mutation makes you organic Spiderman, or not and you make the web yourself, but then explain catching Bucky's iron fist.
@@geuros All spidermen have super strength. Every one of them can lift a bus full of people, stop a raging train, or left part of an entire building. Just remember, every one of Spiderman's villains, with the exception of maybe the symbiotes, he has to hold back. Because if Peter went all out, one punch could instantly murder his opponents.
I don't agree with this assessment at all. Since the Newest spider makes his own using school supplies in the school lab. That's how Peter Parker usually starts his story until he develops his own organic shooters. He makes em at school because he's super smart.

All three are iconic and I love them all for seperate reasons. Tobey is playful, Andrew is comedic, and Miles is confused but in awe. They all sell it really well.
Up until Tom Holland took over for the MCU, I honestly feel that Andrew gave the truly faithful version of Parker...the teen (even though A.G. was almost 30 at the time) who used his noggin to figure things out, and brought the humor and snarkiness to things when he suited up. Like I loved the car robber scene....that was VINTAGE early Parker/Spider-Man!!!!!
I like how anderw went from the most hated to loved since no way home. Its almost like his performance was before its time. Ive always loved how realistic his performance felt. Tobey was great but didnt feel as emotionally connected as andrew felt, especially in his emotional scenes.
The first amazing spider man movie was good, so was Andrew, but its the same thing that Star Wars prequel actors were hated for. Bad scripts, bad writing.
Toby's transformation is the one most people would wish happen to them, smooth sailing throughout. He wakes up one day suddenly not needing glasses, and also is now ripped, agile and flexible, feeling better than ever. There is a slight problem with his organic webs, but that just leads to him finally able to beat his bully, discovering that he now also has great reflexes and can do backflips, then gaining the ability to climb walls and leap from building to building. Andrews is the most "realistic" one as it relates to spiders. He's tired, hungry, instinctively reacting to random things and has no control over his strength. This leads to it being less wish-fulfillment and more analysis on what would actually happen. Miles is more of a extreme version of puberty with extra quirks to deal with. He's suddenly undergone a growth spurt, is very sweaty, embarrassed and awkward, not knowing how to deal with his new capabilities.
@@mrdialectic6352 but peter is established to be genius so its nice to see that affect his moveset with web shooters, showing how he's not just spider-man because of the powers. Plus if its organic then it should come from his ass.
I like how Miles' Spidey Sense was portrayed; him noticing how loud the voice in his head was, his hyperawareness of sweating AND people's body language after he got embarrassed. His Spidey Sense manifested in anxiety and he's attributing to puberty which is brilliant.
miles' is definitely the most appropriate for a 14/15 year old (more denial, panic, and confusion) while i feel like andrews is more of a realistic young adult version (instinctively affected but his more rational mind taking it in stride and jumping into problem solving mode immediately)
I like Andrews transformation a bit more than the others bc it’s actually realistic, he’s freaking out, super sensitive to everything and it shows him trying to re-search to see wtf is happening, it’s really cool
they only decided not to because at the time when homecoming came out, there was a slight fatigue on seeing a third iteration of uncle ben's death and peter discovering his powers.

That’s what high school bullies do. They torment you for years, but the moment you fight back, they play the victim card and make *you* look like the bad guy.
It’s a really good scene. The reaction from MJ, the girl he adores, is a good way to make him realise that the violent path isn’t the best one, he didn’t just stand up to his bully, the smile anticipated he enjoyed it on a subconscious level. Noticing the effect on other peoples faces was an early insight to his ‘great power comes great responsibility’

@@MiMi-Elonaandrew had the smart part though because he created his own webshooters which are supposed to show how smart peter actually is. I feel like Andrew's Peter is the most realistic, in terms of world building and how he reacts to his powers. Andrew is also maybe the fullest version of Peter, since Raimi's Peter is a photographer, but not as active a scientist, and MCU's Peter is a scientist, but not a photographer at all (yet). I also think nobody else has nailed the swinging quite like Amazing Spiderman, since they used a lot of practical effects to achieve it. Amazing as a movie has its issues, but it's still my favorite Peter/Spiderman

I’m with you. Andrew ftw
Yes, I liked him the most and id give anything to have him back and also wear a black suit maybe
That'd be so cool.

It was the script, both of his movies were bad, but as a pure actor he’s the best between the three portrayals

Honestly it's way more believable for a spiderman to have organic web shooter than develope such a complex device just by themselves
Ok.
I like Andrews transformation a bit more than the others bc it’s actually realistic, he’s freaking out, super sensitive to everything and it shows him trying to re-search to see wtf is happening, it’s really cool
I'm just sad we never got to see Tom Holland's Spiderman discovering his powers becuz, it would be hilarious as hell
I agree
they only decided not to because at the time when homecoming came out, there was a slight fatigue on seeing a third iteration of uncle ben's death and peter discovering his powers.

Love how they made tobey look wrong for standing up to his bully.. Mary Jane’s in shock , Flash’s friend Saying “ You really are a freak” because he punched the shit out of him I love it
I think MJ’s reaction was more shocked , and fearful that this innocent “ nerd “ she’s known her whole life , ends up being a black belt in karate
Flash should have died in that scene, peter shouldn’t be able to control his power
@@orionraizel because he was fresh into it, he didn’t have full capability, right after this happened he only just got the ability to climb the wall.

Andrew: Actually trying to find out why hes been all weird

Dude tobey showed what real nerd is like even if he became strong he is still timid while andrew and tom failed to do that because their looks feels like rather than a nerd they were like just smart people doing science.....
@@MiMi-Elona Tom is actually fairly timid and nerdy as Peter, and his portrayal of Peter is good as a realistic Awkward Teenager. Garfield's Peter was good too, but he felt more like the slightly nerdy outcast kinda Peter and had a little bit of an Ego once he had powers which he grew out of.
@MiMi-Elona "just smart people doing science" ...That's what a nerd is lol.
@@MiMi-Elonaandrew had the smart part though because he created his own webshooters which are supposed to show how smart peter actually is. Instead it was replaced with organic webbing which people for some reason like.

I just realized Gwen knew he was a spiderman bc she kept telling him to relax in a tone like she knew what to do

MCU's Peter more like an Engineer(same like Earth 1048's Peter(PS4)) for me rather than scientist.
Yes
I love how it makes sense that AG’s Peter is the only person in his world who gets spider powers despite multiple people having access to the oscorp spiders, because it had to have his dad’s DNA to work.
