Thank you so much for the shoutout, and it was really great having you at the event! Great video, really enjoyed the process you showed - kept it so real!
0:30 The Inertial Measurement Unit, or IMU, knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The tracking system uses deviations to generate movement commands to move the avatar from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't.
It's great it's becoming affordable, love to see many more people with full body! I'll probably just fork out for more vive trackers myself personally, I quite prefur absolute precision.
They're great, definitively a nice plus without setting up hardware all over the place. Made quite a difference when I went from CV1 FBT to building a couple of Slimes out of BMIs. Been hooking up some friends and family with them just to give my 3D printer(s) something to do.
If you want to avoid that odd torso stretch and squash, just use lock head inside of VRChat. The IK system fights itself when you lock both head and hip.
Thanks for the review! If you have any feedback on improving the setup wizard experience, I would appreciate it a ton as I really want it to be easier for everyone
ive been considering on getting slimes for awhile I will get them sometime in the future because i seen someone with slimes and having really good tracking :3
i checked them out and saw the price in USD, it looks apealing i converted to aud and my heart sank💀💀 i think ill just save up and get a shipment after january and by those sweet DT770-pros ive been itching to get🙏
Your vives are tracked by basestations, but your quest is not. Your quest will, in a sense, start to drift away from your vive trackers little by little. This will require you to recalibrate every now and then. However what most do to solve this is mount an extra vive to their quest headset, this can then be used to essentially track the headset using the basestations ensuring any would be drift can immediately be fixed automatically. However that does make it more expensive, and add one more point that can be obscured.
