"So he's gone totally Hollywood. He's not allowed to be irreverent. He's removed that from himself because he' hangs around all the people he's supposed to be irreverent about". That's a nice description of modern day Howard Stern from the man he once was.
One would think that a man worth 650million would get tired of being a predictable boring slave. One would think that he would ditch his handlers and do something edgy, funny, creative again. I mean, how much more money does he need?
Thank you for this comment. Thank you for refraining from badmouthing and ridiculing him. like a lot of these lil turncoats are doing. Is it sad and unfortunate that Stern’s best years are now behind him? Yes of course it is. But he entertained me for many many years. He brought me outta my funk more times than I can count and I’ll never forget that!
He wants Chevy to love him so badly.. to be ignored is worse than hatred. Howard needs someone to acknowledge his existence, whether friendly or a pest
This was actually from 92, but you are spot on. He is saying Chevy was old, not relevant and not funny or cutting edge anymore. He just described himself, now, in 2024.
Title says “Stern 94,” but at 8:07 Stern says “Invisible Man” is going to be a bomb, meaning it hasn’t come out yet. “Memoirs of an Invisible Man” starring Chevy Chase was released in the US on 2/28/92.
Howard: "I thought he was being playful" Robin: "no he was being obnoxious" Lol Howards whole career is built on being obnoxious and she only noticed Chevy was being obnoxious back !!
Well to be fair, Caddyshack, Fletch, Three Amigos, and a couple of the vacation movies are good. Family Vacation, Christmas Vacation, and Caddyshack are comedy classics
Ironic how Howie became everything he was ripping on Chevy for. He made ONE successful movie and a book. His ABC deal fell through, his cartoon never came to fruition either. He was great on terrestrial radio and later some satellite shows. Everything changes over time including Stern.
They made up later and Chevy was on the show in studio. They were fawning all over each other. I have to disagree with Howard saying that all of Chevy's movies sucked. I liked all the Vacation movies, Fletch, Caddyshack, Funny Farm, and Spies Like Us.
Why would Chevy, a handsome, rich, Hollywood actor be jealous of Howard Stern 😂😂😂😅. I think Howie was projecting here. He wanted to be a handsome Hollywood guy so badly, hints the nose job.
Outside of the Jerry Seinfeld types who know when to go out on top, most are like Don Imus, Howard Stern and Chevy Chase. The whole rant is right about anybody, famous or not.
Let’s face it- Chevy Chase was not funny on SNL. He was the only unfunny one in Caddyshack, including the secondary caddies like Tony and Joey D’annunzio and Motormouth. I went through a living phase of every major Caddyshack character. Czervick first, then Carl, but oddly enough fell on Judge Smails as my final favorite. Ty Webb was never a candidate. Every movie after that was a flop and not funny. Dry and boring comedy attempts. Chevy is a bitter comedian. Bitter at others’ success and it shows. I am not sure how he lasted as long as he did.
When howard said he can write his own material without other people Is probably when jackie started laughing extra loud at everything he had written for him.
Sad how like Imus his time is over. I still love him but it’s totally detailed today. These clips are the greatest entertainment ever and it’s sad Sirius actively destroys the archives.
And now they're buddies. Him and Jerry Seinfeld. Even Steve Martin and Martin Short have, in as diplomatic a way as possible, have shown no interest in having him on "Only Murders in the Building".
Listening to Howard explain that he's going to be big in Hollywood and Star in lots of movies is funny in hindsight. His movie career was a wet fart during one of Artie's wet-dreams about Steak Burgers and Grilled Cheese. Instead Howard went on to be a boring talent show host, and married into old money. Hanging out with those same stuffy celebrities, and even having them at his wedding. It's also funny that he criticized the Season 1 SNL cast for becoming too PC... When later in his life after Artie and the cast were either expelled or left, all that was left was a milk-toast old guy whose jokes barely register because he's scared to offend and has nothing to say. He's worse than Cary Grant or Morton Downey ever where. Chevy was a turd and wasted his career. He couldn't even get a long with his Community cast. But Howard ironically has failed to even match Chevys success. He dreamed of having Chevys career in movie or comedy. If Howard of 1993/94 could only see the Howard of today. It would scare him. If he could see Private Parts (1997) he also wouldn't have been so boastful about the promised movie he would make one day, putting Chevys classics like National Lampoon to shame. Even by Howard's own metrics in 1993/94 - the guy went on to sell out in the worst possible way. After Private parts it was down hill, and without co-hosts would have been unbearable. Thank god for Artie, he kept me listening for years there in the 00s. It's impossible to listen back on on anything from Howard after Artie left.

“He’s gone fully Hollywood…” I think Howard is describing Howard
"So he's gone totally Hollywood. He's not allowed to be irreverent. He's removed that from himself because he' hangs around all the people he's supposed to be irreverent about". That's a nice description of modern day Howard Stern from the man he once was.

12:00 so poetic
"He's obsessed"
Howard talking about Chevy for 26:13 without ever actually talking to Chevy. Riveting.
Chevy Chase got the last laugh. He was invited to Stern’s wedding and roasted him and left.
Lol
Lmao
Chevy Chase is an 🫏
I really miss the days when Howard was actually entertaining. Thanks for this.

Modern day Stern needs to listen to this.
He's 70 NUMB NUTZ... It doesn't matter if he listens or not..... Modern day is all you get. Now and Forever!!!!
Chevy relies on other people to write his material? I bet Jackie gave stern the side eye 😂
Exactly...haha. Stern was great at stating the obvious, and reading his script from Jackie/Benji.
Didn’t Howard have like 3-4 writers at a time??
Chase is a writer and writes the majority of his stuff.
He wants Chevy to love him so badly.. to be ignored is worse than hatred. Howard needs someone to acknowledge his existence, whether friendly or a pest
Jackie wrote that
Howard Stern is the best radio personality ever. Wish he retired 15 years ago. Legacy lost 😢
You either die a hero...
If only modern Howard could talk to 94 Howard lol he literally just described himself when talking about imus and Chevy lol

There were a few tips that this was 1992. I didn't catch this one though.
This broadcast was not in 94 it was in 92 I remember I missed a college class for this.
@@eljefemaximo5420 This was from a 1994 broadcast "Best of Stern" from 97.1 The Eagle
Stern was right, the movie tanked! I forgot it even existed until I saw this.
Chevy got the last laugh. Howard the sucker invited him to his wedding and Chevy got to bad mouth him to the entire wedding.
How did he badmouth him lol? I'm curious.
@@mr.brenman2132 Chevy wrote a speech embarrassing Howard.
@@Somethingwicked1x Ah
@Mr. Brenman21 I believe Chevy said something about giving howard an STD after giving him anal. I know it was something really crazy.
Chevy said he knew Howard and Beth were meant to be together because Howard told him that very thing while he was giving Chevy a blowjob.
Howard: "I thought he was being playful"
Robin: "no he was being obnoxious"

“I hope I recognize when I become Imus”. Nope. Sure didn’t. It was about 10 years ago Howie. Too bad too
This aged well
This is exactly what Stern has done.
Well to be fair, Caddyshack, Fletch, Three Amigos, and a couple of the vacation movies are good. Family Vacation, Christmas Vacation, and Caddyshack are comedy classics
I bet those movies would still be funny with a different lead actor though. They're just good movies with good writing
Howard Stern has become the absolute very thing he vowed to completely and totally destroy
You know the old adage about fighting monsters.
haha where are you getting these golden clips man I'm loving it 😂
I would love to hear Cc’s speech he gave at HS wedding! This has aged like milk
Vacation, Christmas vacation and Fletch did not suck
Nothing But Trouble is a funny one too
Howard did the same thing he’s accusing them of doing but his Hollywood buddy is Jimmy Kimmel
Maybe but Caddyshack and the first Lampoon’s vacation are awesome!

Geeze. Howard really took this personality😂 He ranted about it for over 20 minutes. He clearly cared what Chevy thought about him.
I wonder if anyone thinks Howard is predicting his own future, not enough comments stating it
Chevy Chase is my favorite comedian. He has several quotable films.
It's so odd he's "known" as an asshole. I love Chevy, always have.

Looking back at this from 2023, its pretty clear chevy didnt like howard because he was jewish and was more popular than him.
A lot of foreshadowing in this clip .

This is the Howard Stern I KNOW.
You mean the Howard who can dish it out but can’t take it?😂
Chevy was pissed at Howard for something specific to come out swinging like that.
He had called Chevy at his home and got into an argument with Chevy’s wife way back when Howard was just starting out .
Howard was describing his future-self.
