Hey Dave, as a single soldier the Altima is great, plus it's an attractive car. It doesn't look like a mom or grandma car, but it does show someone with a bit of some type of responsibility, I still do wish I was able to afford the Maxima though.
I'm 25 and considering this car. It offers more value more features and better features than the competitors. I guess I am a rational guy who looks at what's practical lol. I currently drive a 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5SL and I love it. 145k miles and going strong!
Does that have a CVT transmission ? How's it been for you, have you had any issues ?
I'm 20 and love this car
Luke Hoisington I’m 16 and I just got it! I love it.
27 married with 3 kids, picked it up for 14k 30k miles...damn am I happy haha.
I love my new 2015 Nissan Altima. It drives so smooth. And the seats are soooo comfortable. 😃
+1
The seats are very comfortable you're right
I just drove from MN to South Bend in a '15 2.5SL and got 42.7 MPG. I drove 409 miles and used about 1/2 a tank. I had to do a double take and checked if the MPG was right when I refiled. It was. I agree the CVT can be loud when accelerating but once up to speed, the noise goes away, and i haven't had noise issue while driving on the highway. the center stack and infotainment works great. It's not going to wow you but it really is great if you spend a lot of time on the highway.
He's full of shit. I'm 22 and I'm loving this car. I have a lot of friends who drive this car. Definitely isn't only for people in their 40's. Especially if you get the 3.5 SV with 270 horsepower
+hussein335 I'm 17 and I absolutely love mine. I have a 15 with SL trim and it pretty much offers everything except the rear spoiler. I've had mine for 2 months and my miles are racking up.
+hussein335 i wanna drive one for uber and i got a friend whos an EMT owns one too and hes in his 20s
I agree with you on this! He could have kept that comment to himself. This is a very stylish car.
I just bought me a 2015 Altima S, with 22,000 miles on it for $11,000. I think I got a steal.
The crazy thing is is that the Altima has better gas mileage than the Soul, which in my opinion is kind of ridiculous, with the Soul being smaller.
I got it from my friend for 2000 lol 35000 thousands miles thats a steal
Kaiser Tuumalo I just got a 2015 Altima SV with 47,000 miles for $11,000. It’s definitely a steal and worth it.
Just bought one 80k miles for 6.5k, not bad eh
Got mine for $18.9k brand new 5 years ago... same price as an Elantra. They practically give these things away.
you do not like the CVT but you like the gas mileage. what? The CVT helps with the mileage, I love the CVT.
Adding more gears to a real traditional automatic also increases fuel economy without sacrificing reliability. CVT's are not bulletproof, especially Nissan's.
These are 50/50 cars. You either get one that gives you no problems or one that is an endless headache.
You're right, couldn't have said it better myself.
You're right. Cars produced out of Canton, MS seem to have more problems than the ones that come from Smyrna, TN.
The reliability went down in 2013 and beyond. Stay away from the V6, good engine but it's too much power for that CVT unless you don't drive it hard. The telltale sign of failure is "CVT shutter". Sign up for a www.truedelta.com account. It's free. Problems are all over the place on these cars.
jldude84 I bought a used 2014. No issues. I know 2 others with a 14 and 15 with no issues. I did test drive a 15 the dealer had and could tell it had issues. Any car can have issues. I had a 13 civic that had a lot. My parents had Toyota with issues. The only thing with Nissan is maintenance. You have to keep up with it. It's not like a Honda that's almost maintenance free. I would recommend an extended warranty just in case something does happen with the cvt.
Great video on the Nissan Altima. Dave!
happy new year dave!
WHAT!!! I have a 98 Accord and was looking at a new model for my next car and I still think the Altima exterior look is far sharper than Accord, Camry or any other mid-size sedans on the market!!
love you're reviews big fan
What color is the exterior? This the best interior for exterior Nissan I’ve seen
im 6'0 and 300 pounds. First sedan i did not have to max out the seat adjusters.
I just bought one and I'm 49 yrs old and I love it
One thing people may love about this car (and Nissan in general) are the amazing deals. A lot of Nissan dealers in my state are selling trims like 2.5 SV for $17,000 (MSRP: about $25,000)
Damn, I'm 23 and I kinda like this car but damn when he said, people in their 40s would perfect this car I was like damn time to move on to something else LOL!
I purchase a 2015 3.5 SL and I love it. I am in my mid 30s and I will say I like the lines of the vehicle and what you get for the price....this is my first car outside of GM and so far I am happy with my purchase. the 2 things I wish the car had where memory seats and ventilated cold seats this car would be perfect....there is some road noise but I usually have the radio on so I am not worried about it. I used to have a 2007 Chevy Malibu SS and that had road noise too
Dude, I'm 30, and really into this car.
I love your Nissan Altima SL 2015
I like it
Looks like a really nice car with great fuel economy for something this size. I would like to see how well they do in snow.
Lol @ the angry Asian who was talking trash about the transmission, I do believe he meant the old altimas like........very old every import I've ever driven has never gave me problems except for my first Honda which I loved that got hit in a hit and run and knocked off my stearing column, I got a Chevy cruze after that still have it and the breaks are going already (thank god its a lease I'm almost out of) anywayyyyy keep it up on the great reviews man and review the new 2015 Toyota Camry fully loaded edition if you can thanks!!!! You have earned yet another subscriber!!!!!
I like the fuel economy but not impressed with the styling. I'm not much taller than Melissa and in the backseat I always feel like I have to crouch a little for some headroom. Nice work with the video, Dave and Melissa. Keep it up.
you are right about the wind, road, and transmission noise. it is too loud
I have a Nissan Versa Note SL but while I was having accessories added I was given a Nissan Altima for a couple of days. What was most noteworthy about the car was the seats which they call Zero Gravity Seats and I am curious to hear Everyman Driver Car Reviews opinion on the seats which I found more comfortable that any seats I can recall sitting in.
I am 42 years old and believe me that I feel 25 when I am driving my Nissan Altima 2013 SV . The CVT is responsive and quick. The RPM is much closed to 2k when I speed to 150k/h . Your ranking turn out to be under the level when you start promoting sunglasses; i suggest you switch to sunglass reviewer instead of car reviewer.
hahaha LMAO about the sunglass reviewer...man let him have some money
So which model is this?
Hey dave where/ what state was this filmed?
I'd be interested in the 2.5 S, for around 23k you get push button start and a power driver's seat. Features usually not seen until you pay 28k or so. It's a good value, sort of like a Camry with a lower MSRP.
+JuxtaGenesis We purchased a new 2.5S in 2012, Overall Love the car, good cruiser, descent MPGs. But this will be the last one we'll ever purchase, The CVT transmission sounds like you have a 4 propeller drone under the hood, with the moaning noise hunting up and down for the correct ratio. I understand thats the way CVTs work to be able to achieve better MPGs, but our 2013 Malibu with a 6 speed auto gets the exact same MPGs as the Altima, (Both have the 4 Cylinder), we've checked the MPGs on both during different trips and both constantly get low to mid 30s MPG.
If Nissan would go back to a 6 or 8 speed auto and eliminate the CVT, I'd purchase another Altima over the Malibu, Thats how much I like the rest of the car.
this guy don't know cars.
He is advertising his product while making nonsense comments.
DOESN'T EVEN PUT UP THE TRIM LEVEL. IF I HAD TO GUESS IT'S A SV?
Dave.. enjoy your reviews. However...
To MY thinking the CVT is one aspect of the Altima that **makes** the car a good buy (the other key features are (1) superior mpg and (2) excellent passenger and cargo space (3) comfortable seats).
That said... I bought a 2016 Mazda 6 for its handling...
In terms of the Altima CVT, my experience was that it is not as good as the 2015 Honda Accord CVT when really **pushing** the car in terms of performance. The Accord was "precise" in its "shifts" where the Altima felt a bit "sloppy".
But, compared to a geared transmission such as that on the Mazda or the VW (Passat), the Altima CVT is smooth, smooth, smooth on the highway. There was absolutely ****zero**** surging when cresting / declining hills, etc. The CVT precludes jthe erky gear changes by seamlessly adapting engine RPM to meet load (such as on my Mazda). It's marvelous in this regard..
My first "automatic" was a 2008 Nissan Altima with a CVT. Prior to that, every car that **I** owned had a manual tranny. The Altima made a believer of me in terms of the CVT - at least in terms of highway driving.
The 2015 Altima CVT is, to my thinking a significant improvement over the 2008. Again, IMO, it's not as good as Honda's CVT; if one is going to "push" the car's performance characteristics, in that usage, the Honda might be the better choice (and I'd argue for the Mazda 6 vs. the Honda if performance is a deciding criteria), but... Nissan's CVT is, never-the-less, still a superb piece of automotive engineering. I think you unfairly "diss" the thing.
I agree that the Altima might be "plain Jane" as you describe. But, as a reliable, practical family hauler - or as a long distance high-way cruiser, the Altima is superb - the CVT being part of the package that **makes** it so.
GOOD REVIEW & GOOD CAR.
It would be nice if you could also state the fuel economy in L/100Km for international audiences. Regardless, Everyman Driver Car Reviews is one of my favourite car channels!
Would you get better gas mileage with a K&N air filter?
Stick to the OEM
I'm 24 And im in love with this car!
All wheel drive?
He's tripping I'm about to be 18 and this is my first choice right now
"...in a few minutes I'm going to show you what the trunk space looks like so hang around"; I misunderstood her.
i really want this one (1 year and 4 months away)
Not a terribly exciting car, but a good car nonetheless. I really like the front seats and it doesn't seem to be lacking any equipment. A few months ago I drove a 2014 2.5 model from Nashville to northern Indiana and back. My average mpg for the trip was just over 38. I thought that was very impressive. Overall I can see why Altima's sales have been growing steadily. If you can get it for the right price it would not be a bad way to go.
im 30 and i want this car in sv trim. well i have a 2015 vw golf s
Yea at 37 years old not ready to trade in my gti for this lol maybe in 10 years
Good review. Thanks Dave and Melissa.
Hey Dave, I think the 2015 Altimas only have 5 trim levels now the 2.5 Base, S, SL, and SV while the 3.5 only has the SL... per what the website tells me
The 3.5 S and Sv was discontinued as of January 2015. It was made from aug 2014-dec 2014 though
The 2015 Model-Year also had the S-Special Edition, which is what I bought in Black.
I couldn't have bought a better vehicle.
No back up camera for the 2015 ?
Megan Kirkland mines does 💯
Wanted to give some input about Melissa being in the videos. Without sounding to harsh or mean I think you two have very different styles when it comes to reviewing cars. I find that it breaks up the video and that it is less fluid when you are both reviewing the same car. I don't have anything against the Everywoman driver but for me I think it works better when it's just Dave.
Eric Wright I will reply (on camera) to this comment in tomorrow's daily vlog. Thank you for the question - Dave
Noconz0727 MC I agree. That and she always bursts into this stupid goofy laughter and is always grinning at the camera. It's hard to take her seriously.
I never fancied altimas. Untill i got my 2015 one. I just disliked the 'euro' tailights of the previous ones.
Wow you sound like a radio announcer
Your assessment on the potential customers is incorrect.
i trade my GMC sierra in this car and i love it.. fuel and comfort level...
2015 murano next??
She likes the leather its squishy n easy to clean
More Melissa please.
She is cute! And she even said in one of the videos several years ago that she may do a TOPLESS review! (Not sure if she was referring to herself or a car but I eagerly await that video to find out for sure!)
Can you please do a 0 to 60 run with the real Altima...... the V6 please!!! tks.
The first time I've ever seen every woman driver! it's not a myth she's real!
Like Dave said in the video, Altima needs more thrill, back in the day when I was in Los Angeles, Altima was considered to be "sporty" of the bunch, I mean the SE-R, that car stood out really good and it was pretty fast. I really do wish they bring SE-R back or anything that stands out
For 2015, the 3.5 only comes in the SL trim.
actually it comes in S, SV & SL (S, SV are limited availability)
No actually, in the US 3.5 ONLY comes in the SL Trim.
Anthony Cuda,,,I was just at the dealer and saw them....they are rare but they can be in other trims...website doesn't say so but the 2015 brochure does....
+Imn222002 the 3.5 S and Sv was made from aug 2014-dec 2014 and it was discontinued as of Jan 2015
lmn222002 you're probably seeing a 2014 model
My car 😍😍😍
Nissan Altima is a car u step out with a suit with
Key word: ORDINARY
CVT welcome to The Future pretty soon every car will be using them. performance cars in the future are going to be limited to a very expensive upmarket vehicles, everything else is going to be geared towards fuel economy. It's the wave of the future like it or not. Gone are the days of a $30,000 performance car. $30,000 in 2021 will get you base 4 cylinder with a CVT.
Haha not true. Impreza, elantra, Soul, Forte are all under $20k
25 mpg hard with max ac on.
I thought it had a 20 gallon tank.
I guess I'm too young since he puts age in a catagory. Someone that doesn't want to make a statement he says- I guess he would fit the bill. He looks close to older and plain jane.
With your age range u just gave I’m offended bc I’m in my 20’s and I’m not ordinary either
3:03 "squisy"...I'll squisy her
jtan2010 I bet you would!
Everyman Driver Car Reviews lol
jtan2010 ill get her toasty
@@everymandriver lol
I never liked the suburban neighborhoods they drive this car in. Take it out onto the main roads and highways. That's where a lot of the driving will be done. Not some 25 mph road neighborhood street with cookie cutter houses.
chancy319 Where the video was shot has nothing to do with the overall review but thanks for your comment.
Everyman Driver Yes, it does. Your reviews are nice and mostly extensive but talking about the driving dynamics on highways and main roads is essential since it's where most people drive.
chancy319 most people live in the cities where traffic is constant problem and 25 mph is very common. You need the speed to enter the highway, then you get stuck in highway traffic and it's less than 25 mph.
Plus it's not very safe to be making a video in high traffic
Damn I'm 21 ..
ha...ha...ahhhh im 21
u so cute
Just from what I've seen my dislikes: Leather pattern, radio counsel is kind of blah, and uninspiring, and I'm not a big fan of the open speakers in the trunk. Other than that it looks okay, do like the instrument cluster and I agree it's probably targeted for the older driver, business types. Tell ya what, Melissa I like to show her what the back seat is for, and she is more easy on the eyes than the chick from TFL, can't stand her. Though, the other chick seems to know more about cars overall. Anyways, not a big Nissan fan unless it's the GT-R.
leather pattern?
